I’ve been reviewing first time Rome videos for an upcoming trip. I’ve been many times but nobody else in my family group has. It’s helpful to see what challenges and enjoyments they will have from another person’s perspective. Thank you.
Thank you so much! This is super informative!!! Everything I need to know in just 11 mins Love to learn about others cities in Italy as well❤ (Naples , Palermo)
Love your channel so much , I told all my family members to join you, thank you for sharing so many wonderful Europe countries . You must do a lot of home work and study . You travel alone ? Doing so many things. I will spend time to finish all the137 videos and of course always a thumbs up 👍❤️ Thank you for sharing 🙏
Hi Rok, you got nice color, seems u had great summer. I recently visited croatia 2nd time in last 2 years and slovenia for the 1st time, all thanks to your reccomendations. I would really like to thank you for all ur knowledge provided on those videos. I liked Rovinj like anything special thanks to ur coverage on this beatiful city/town. Of course this video on Rome is also super informative, and for sure i will visit Rome as well in some nice cool month. Again thanks for creating super awesome content. I wish you all the very best in all you do and YOU ARE THE BEST !!!
I'd agree with most tips, especially the show-up-early one. Most tourist attractions open between 8 and 9, tourists show up after breakfast, i.e. between 9 and 10. Have your caffé e cornetto at a bar (usually open at 7) and a second breakfast after the colosseum. If you like a challenge, you can also rent a scooter and discover Rome the Italian way! Lots of fun and you can see places that are really difficult to get to with public transport. That said, I don't think you need a Hotel downtown. I usually stay in the Castelli Romani (my favorite is Frascati). It is much more relaxed, food is better because there are less tourists and more natives, and you can get around wonderfully with a scooter or out there even with a car (rental at airport). When you want to go to Rome, you will take the train anyway. From Frascati to Termini 30 mins. If you are planning to stay in the city late, you still have the scooter (with which parking is no problem). In any case. 3-4 days for Rome is a joke! I've been going to Rome since 1990 at least 1 or two times a year and at least for a week, usually for longer, and I still haven't seen all there is to see. If you come to Rome for 3-4 days, make sure you come again! Oh - and it's pronounced "porketta" - not "portschetta" - ch in Italian is pronounced like a k.😉
This seems to be a very interesting place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much! And please keep up the great job! Subscribed!!
Rok!! Amazing content! Thanks. Can I ask for the name of the place with the carbonara?????? Please I'm here at Rome athe moment and I want to try that one!!
Hi Rok, first of all this rome travel guide is probably the best i have seen 😊! I really appreciate the footage, which brings me to my question: do you know which focal length u used for the wide-angle shots and could u tell me pls😅? For example at 08:12 forum romanum, 08:32 Pantheon and 03:42 Im going to visit rome in May and i cant decide which lens to take: SonyZeiss 16-35mm F4 or Sigma 20mm F1.4 DG DN Currently i prefer the SIGMA (better in low light), but im not sure if its wide enough 😝 You really would help me a lot ! 🙏
Thanks 🤗 16-35 is my favourite focal lenght. But I also keep 24mm prime for low light situations. I also use 24-105 for details. Hope this helps. I wish you a great trip.
Thank you so much for this fantastic video. I am going to Rome on my own and have booked to go to the Vatican. I am getting a taxi down from the Romoli Hotel, but not sure how to get back up there. Could you help me please?
Greetings from Las Vegas! We just had our anniversary at Caesars Palace at a restaurant called Trevi. It's amazing how similar the looks of the Venetian and Caesars are to the actual country of Italy, there's obviously no comparison, but this was a great video. Thanks for sharing. We Liked this video and will be checking out more.
Use ‘eat like a local Rome’ as a search term. Look for 6 or 7 sites that are clearly food oriented. If a place comes up on 3 or 4 of them, it’ll be good. If wandering- contrary to rumor it’s possible to eat well without a second mortgage near (ish) the main tourist sites. Look for small places without a view of the sites. Look for menu and conversation by clientele in Italian. Look for a small number if menu items, ideally on a blackboard by the door. You’ll probably eat amazingly well for half what the microwave pasta near the Coliseum costs. Check out Testaccio for lunch and the really cool artists co-op in the old meat plant for a relaxed lunch. The Ghetto or Trastevere have a variety of excellent places as well. Trastevere is beautiful at night.
"On this travel channel, Rik is combining his 21 years of traveling experience, his 11 years of filmmaking experience and his 10 years of tour guiding experience." Lets say you started working at age 16. Then we have 16+21+11+10 = 58. Congratulations, you are at most 7 years away from retirement! 😁
Love your videos but there’s just something wrong with your audio quality or the microphone. It just doesn’t sound relaxing or it gives me headache for some reason.
You make great videos, filming, editing and commenting, but there are no views worth it..and it is the same problem that I face because I do the same content, but in Arabic..so I decided to change my content because it is not attractive despite the great effort in creating it.
Congratulations, great video. Unfortunately Rome's bad are the dexterity thefts carried out especially on the metro, 90% are done by young gypsies from Eastern Europe, Slavs, Romanians, Moldavians etc... One last note, you have to learn how to use a fork properly to eat spaghetti! Ah! Ah! Ah! However you did very well.

Thanks 🤗 I am pretty sure you will be able to find a taxi nearby to get back. You can ask the police, they are very friendly. Have a great trip.

I missed the name of the restaurant you had the carbonara and saltimbocca. It looked delicious. I'd like to add this place to my list
