Definitely check your baffles if one is cutting better then the other. We actually take the baffles out all summer until fall when we start bagging leaves. Without the baffles it launches grass and there is no clogging but you don't get as much lift if you're doing leaves.
You have some of the best videos. What I like is that they are always different and you learn something because of that. Of course the entertainment factor is no question, you got that down lol
Thank you for the video, I searched in hopes of a video on replacing the wheel motors but didn't find one. Did you happen to make a video of that? Thanks again for the videos! :)
@@CountrysideStrong I searched through your videos and didn't find anything! I just replaced mine and not sure how to torque that effer down. Since you can reach the nut with the wheel on, I just kept stopping while mowing and cranking it down. My other one failed because it was not tightened down properly, sheared the woodruff key and effed the hub. Seems like a common issue from what I have recently discovered. I appreciate the videos! :)
Great video but I've got to bust your chops.😄😄Time frame 10:30 on video, the part you forgot, according to the SCAG website, its called a (knob)... When I forget the part name, I use the universal name (thingamajig) Grab a beer, chill and have a great day✌✌ Did I mention, awesome video...👍👍
I ve owned both.im with you guys as far as opinions. I like v-ride 1.maybe scag should rethink that deck design. Funny that old one cuts better.I believe that.
Would be super awesome to see a video on changing out the hydro motors. You have any thoughts on trying out the new Ballard blades? I just threw a set of the Hi-Rise ones on my machine today.
I'm not gonna change the hydros, just the wheel motors and I'll video it. Not interested in those blades. From what I hear they're the same as everything else
Nice review! Run flats on the front? Are the castors a touch larger on v-ride 2? One thing I like on a Wright stander is the deck handle, you can not only have the default pin to adjust deck, but raise it incrementally with the spring loaded pin on top of the handle. Amazon has a pin that eliminates the need for a cotter pin, uses a magnet to hold it in. Could use the ball bearing one too.
V ride 1 cuts better because it has the kawasaki engine. I purchased the v ride 1 with the kohler efi and sold it because it felt underpowered and the cut quality was really bad. Later purchased the v ride 2 with the kawasaki engine and the cut quality is perfect.
I definitely still am loving my vride 1 my back platform is a bit different you can fold whole plate up and nothing is behind it and mine have all the casters on front, but mine is the last year of the vride one 2017-18 I believe it has a few different things then the vride one you have there but I definitely would like to get a vr2 that will be next
i wonder if the blade tip speed is different between the decks? i assume the engine rpms are the same. you could measure the clutch pulley and spindle pulleys and compare them.
Top speed of 10.5 mph on the v ride 2 let’s be honest are you really going to mow grass at that speed but I get it here to there is very quick!! Great vid as always my friend 👍
Ground speed is determined by governed max engine speed and tire size. Quality of cut and discharge of chippings , blade tip speed, and the size of the drive and driven pullies for the deck and max engine governed speed. As a 40 year mechanic I would opt for the carbureted engine. way to many headaches with computers. If you have wheel motor problems, need to check the performance of the pump also. and make sure the system is flushed thoroughly, or future problems may happen.
No, I use the Scag drive oil. I used to be an Amsoil dealer, don't believe everything you hear about it. Good stuff but it's just not any better than Mobil 1 for example
Always a good day when you post.
Thanks buddy

Yea it's crazy
Love the videos, if you ever get the time could you possibly do a scag vs exmark vs toro video?
Sure

Yup, and I'm not a fan of wright but I did have one that was like that.

Never owned a scag stand on mower! Only toro grand stands! But they look like they are very nice!
Love my Grandstand but the V Ride is awesome
Great information on these 2 machine,s
Thank you

Yea it's gonna be a pretty cool mower

When I'm on wide open commercials, you damn right I do.
Who makes the wheel spacer kit you used? Part number?
No idea they were sent to me by a friend. I know you can get them in Amazon just look it up there’s tons
@@CountrysideStrongdo you know how thick yours were? 2"? 3"? Thx in advance
Would you Happen to have a Part number or link to the wheel spacers?
I posted in a couple of other comments where people ask for it go through the comments you'll see it in there it's an eBay posting
Great video mate!! Any particular reason for the wheel spacers?
Yup, has a better stance for traction especially on hills
What wheel motors comes those? We ordered 2 new wheel motors for our Z2 . Probably gonna be mid July before I get it back from the dealer 😤
I ordered on eBay. About $800 each I'm told if you go to dealer. I got them for $416 each with 4 day shipping
483388 was the part number
@@CountrysideStrong that's what we should a done 🤦♂️
True
How many hours before you had to change the wheel motors?
I didn't have a wheel motor issue until the one actually broke off on the v ride 1 and that was about 1300 hrs. Never had that happen before
Great video what is your favorite kinda of engine for mowers
I really do love the Kohler EFI but the Kawasaki on the 1 is a beast
Height adjust for V ride 1. How about pin with the spring loaded ball to keep it in place?
Yup I updated in another video
Looks like your vride 1 must be an early model year. Mine is a 2013 and much different
Hopefully the new wheel motors fix your issue with the V-Ride 1 🤞. You might want to flush the whole hydro system just to be safe.
Oh absolutely
Where do you get your power chutes? I can never find a place to order one?
Powerchute.com

You are wrong. When it comes to mowers your hydro units control how fast the machine will move, period. It's that simple.
Amsoil hydro oil in the new wheel moters
No, I use the Scag drive oil. I used to be an Amsoil dealer, don't believe everything you hear about it. Good stuff but it's just not any better than Mobil 1 for example
Lol your kidding me right!
Can you still buy the V-ride 1s new?
No I don't believe so
I remember the first generation scag v rides they were terrible. Wright Stander all the way
Wright can't cut in the Northeast. Absolute garbage
@@CountrysideStrong fine up here in MA, email me eric@beekindlandscaping.com I’ll send pics
Can you still buy the v ride one
No they stopped making it
Imagine what the 40 hp feels like.....
They’re nice I’ve played on machines with that engine
