And omg it's been spring all summer!!! This time of year I'm uselly down to mowing property bi weekly this year my bi weeklys have turned into weekly. Grass has never looked so good in August.
Not even close, common misconception typical used by people that have never run one. Walter's AREN'T designed for perfect lawns. The exact concept of their design is to accommodate uneven, misfires, and unlevel yards
Looking good in the neighborhood wow who knew that taking off the baffle would make a diff, nice 👍 and the Walker slowly making its way back into the rotation!!!
No fair on your rain! After all the rain we had back in early July has stopped so we’re about done for here in MO. It’s been over 4 weeks now that we’ve had a good rain. You’re so pretty and green. Send some our way
Ever had issues with your vride 2 leaving a row of cut clumped grass between middle and chute-side blade? See you have a few SCAG’s. Just replaced spindles - didn’t help.
It's the first thing I do to my velocity decks over here in Australia, remove the front baffle and set the pitch to zero. Handles our long Kikuyu grass much better.
have a great dane super2. no baffles, only one washer above blades, super high lift, deck ½in higher in front, run larger pulleys to up blade speed and my stripes look like a highlighter. I only cut my own lawn but make the stripes of the neighbors look bad with scag and Ferris. think changing pulley size was the biggest effect. now if i could get my mower to cut straight that would be the cream.
No baffles on my first gen Pro Stance. Only thing is the damn chute opening is so tiny. Same thing as your old Great Dane stander. If you go to fast and hit thick, wet stuff, you get the clumps.
Same opening as my Exmark and Grandstand..... no clumps. Great Dane didn't either . Deck design makes all the difference. That's Scag baffle is exclusive to scags
@@CountrysideStrong The opening size on the exmark and grandstand is the same as the great dane? Oh damn I figured they would of been way bigger. Ive never seen either of them in person to compare. Maybe the grass/weeds im cutting is just crap. lol
@@brewersblade4887 there was no baffles on my mower. The underside of the deck was pretty much wide open except for the back half which had half circles for where the blades rotated. And then there was the rather small discharge opening. The first generation pro-stance were like the first ever stand on mower made. It's no where even remotely close to the current pro-stance mowers.
Do you run a baffle in the Walker deck? My 48 side discharge walker deck dose not chop up clippings for shit!! It cuts amazing I love it but even if your cutting a quarter inch off it clumps up a little. with my walk behind I can cut 2 foot tall grass and dose not clump at all!! Walk behind has a baffle walker dose not. I looked for a baffle kit and dident see one.
@@CountrysideStrong you probly have sorry I just have a guy at the Walker place saying they make them but hard to get and not made bye walker that improves this issue.. I'm trying to sell one of my walkers to get a scag. I dnt like to open deck with the Walker.
Great info , gonna go rip mine off my v 1 now ! What do you run for rear tires ? I seem to be eating them up especially inner from turning in driveways Gonna try a 22x10-8 and see if it will get mor travel speed

That's for sure
FACT
My scag could stripe a gravel driveway and make it looks amazing...double cutting with a walker looks pretty damn good too if it’s a perfect lawn

Good info! Looking forward to the baffle removal results on the vride 2.
Yea I'm really curious on that too
0:50 love that movie it’s a classic so much room for activities
Amen, great movie
I put a baffle kit on my freedom z. Actually the same one you had, I feel like it cut better with it on. And there’s no blow out at all.
Yea the baffle kit did make a difference
Looking good in the neighborhood wow who knew that taking off the baffle would make a diff, nice 👍 and the Walker slowly making its way back into the rotation!!!
Yea on both accounts, big things happening

Yea usually we're dry here too by now

Only when going in reverse. Every Scag does it. Pisses me off. Only mower on the market that does it
Nothing stripes like a roller
Lol very true... temporarily
Ill agree. My Simplicty Broadmoor tractor had a striping roller that supported the back of the deck. The lines were AMAZING.
That's all a stripe kit is
Real mowers don’t need a stripe kit!!!!
@@spin0491 none of mine have one
Full disclaimer "it's not the right or wrong way, it's just how we do it"
That's right lol
I'd be curious to see ventrac vs scag stripes. Ventracs have a steel roller and the dual wheel models have 8 tires also helping with stripes
You won't see it here lol. Too expensive
I x bladed my vr2 it’s amazing how much less double cutting i gotta do. Imma remove the baffle and see what it does down here.
There ya go, good idea
Interesting. Does the grass lay uniformly in the direcrion of cut, or is it cut but looking like bed head?
Cuts perfectly even
Nicely done! Got a great team there.
Thank you

Thanks for the feedback
I have to agree with you scag is best at laying good lines down! Even though I run toro’s and Ferris! Scag just has it right!
Yea they really do
I know this is an older video but do you still run with the baffles out for grass? Just picked up a brand new V Ride II

Yup, same size. I cut allot of weed lawns too. I'm telling ya, it's 100% deck design inside. No question about it, simple.
Patrick I have the 2020 pro stance. Do you feel like once you took the baffles out of your GEN one it cut better?

Next time you go to install the baffle put some antisize on the bolts make it easy to remove them see you later Mr country side
They weren't stuck. They're carage bolts and the holes are rounded

Let me know how that tire size works I'm curious
Yes, went with taller tires on my ferris srs's and they move !! Lol.
I removed my baffle and mowed 4" and the cut got way worse, gonna try my commercial accounts next week at 3 " if that helps
@@tonyal6380 I ended up putting it back in. I'll explain in the next video
