“The Nice Guys” takes place in 1970s Los Angeles, when down-on-his-luck private eye Holland March (Gosling) and hired enforcer Jackson Healy (Crowe) must work together to solve the case of a missing girl and the seemingly unrelated death of a porn star. During their investigation, they uncover a shocking conspiracy that reaches up to the highest circles of power.
“The Nice Guys” is scheduled for release in theaters on May 20, 2016, and will be distributed in North America by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

I absolutely adore this film but I consider it the spiritual sequel to kiss kiss bang bang. Same writer/directer....same humor style, noir elements. Very similar imo.

in order to be a hit or make a profit, you have to make twice the budget of the film since theaters also get part of the films gross. It made only $63 million on a $50 million, so it lost money.
It doesn't help that the film was released during one of the worst summers in cinema history, where nearly every film that year whose name wasn't Captain America flopped hard.
Ryan Gosling is absolutely phenomenal in this hilarious movie.

@@theonlybigmorg I'd say drive as it's the first movie to introduce me to Ryan Gosling but Bladerunner 2049 is one of my favorite movies and The Nice Guys is honestly me and my friend so it's hard to say but easy to say that Ryan Gosling just slays whatever role he's doing
It's an outright fucking misery that this bombed. When it comes to movies released recently, this is one of few where I found myself truly desiring a sequel.

It's just like The man from U.n.c.l.e that should have been a success too, and from what I understand they are making a part 2 to U.n.c.l.e.

What I don’t remotely understand is why there wasn’t a sequel to this film?? Seriously, Gosling and Crowe were hilarious together! This movie was so well done. Great story, good cast, cool locations, epic vibe, and incredibly funny. They need to do a sequel!!

This is probably my favorite movie and I only heard about it cause it was mentioned in a 10 second fandango add at the theaters. I dragged my dad to it not knowing what it was, and it was one of the best last minute decisions I’ve ever made.

The first trailer is better but still this movie looks awesome!
I like how the trailer made it seem as if the guys crashed through the house, they even spliced in his screaming to trick us.
By far the best trailer to any movie, Rod Stewart, The Hollies. And the movie was amazing by its own. 25/10 amazing.
I gotta say - this film has got to be the best this year. Extremely funny, Ryan Gosling is so flipping funny, he has to win an Oscar for this film! Russell Crowe is top notch, he and Ryan make the perfect duo!

I don't know what it is about this trailer/movie, but like every time I see it pop up as an ad before my RUclips vids, I can't help but watch the damn thing. I think this is how you make a good trailer, and perhaps even a good movie. Even when I don't wanna watch it.... I HAVE to watch it.

I got to see this last night in an advance screening followed by a Q&A with the screenwriter Shane Black (who also wrote and directed Iron Man 3) and producer Joel Silver. Guys, this film is BRILLIANT!!

I can't wait for this movie. the last non big budget movie I saw in theaters because the trailers were pretty good was Seven Psychopaths and that was a really good movie. this reminds me of that and I'm hyped for it.
