Welcome to my playthrough of Radiant Dawn Reverse Recruitment with @akirasou (or is it Sou Akira?). In this playthrough, our first unit joins last, and our last unit joins first. Reverse Recruitment is unbalanced at the best of times, but when factoring in Radiant Dawn's non-traditional multi-army structure, things get even more wacky, with under-leveled dragons, a low number of healers, and the Dawn Brigade serving as out Jagens, things are sure to be wacky.
This patch was made by @ViciousSal who has made a bunch of other cool radiant dawn stuff. check it out here: / discord
I got fed up with this map my first hard mode playthrough and just had ike solo it. Glad to see you resisting the temptation, but following it in spirit, despite everything being topsy-turvy.
-"I've won. But at what cost?"
-"Two vulnerary uses."
-"...oh."
Rip Ike suffered from way too much success 😔
I'd say I mostly like defend chapters, but it's a shame the 'optimal' strategy for a lot of them is to just turtle up with a few units. I like the ones where you have objectives that require you to advance and maintain a zone of control (such as if there are chests in the level) best because then you're playing proactively while staying on defense. I also think there are a few interesting defend chapters in this game, mostly when you're playing as the Dawn Brigade. Chapter 3-13 from this game adds a bit of a twist with the line holding mechanic, I'm not sure if that ever returned but having to maintain a zone of control makes an otherwise boring objective more exciting IMO.
The famous early defend map in conquest also has I think four tiles in a row or something that are the defend objective. It's a simple change, but makes a defend map much harder to cheese.
Corrosion would be a mildly neat skill in GBA to wear down ballistae, sieges, and status staves
Except for iron and bronze weapons everything has 40 or fewer uses so activating corrosion is basically as good as activating lethality for a tier 3 unit. It's a lot better than in FE9 at any rate.
Hope you'll have a good day c:
