I have learned from this playthrough that King Ashnard actually had a second hidden heir. It's Excelblem. Only a man of Excelblem's wisdom could be Ashnard's child. Just look how hard he makes things for himself to try to win. Amazing.
Ashnard has blue hair, what other lord that is obsessed with causing as much death as humanly possible also has blue hair? I rest my case, ashnard is a descendant of the one true hero king
Yes, the friends he sent off to die for the greater good. The ones that are still living will have their time in the sequel to be "friends to be fought for."
Make sure to pay your respects to the many Partner Unit Holy Guard members who died when Tanith sent them out to constantly partake in reckless strategies.
I mean, Excelblem's strange tactics end up being to benifit her. Less troops alive, the more rations are available due to a lesser density of those needing them, hence she doesn't risk starvation as often. So in a way, his degeneracy is a win-win situation, as you can even interpret letting her use Knives as a way to...idk, peel apples and carrots while conserving more of the total thing.
yeah!!! lots of them are functionally slapped with "debilitating injury" that keeps them out of combat but lets them participate in dialogue that would be wayyyy too hard to remove them from
I have to say as someone who has unfortunately played maniac mode, I am shocked at how few attempts this took, that the knife sage meme didnt punish you harder, and that you got less characters killed on purpose than I expected
I never knew Ike starting with 4 Iron Swords is a Glitch. I allways thought that it should illustrate that he wants to be super prepared on his first mission. Awesome run though
honestly he feels gimmicky mechanically but his supports are actually really interesting? he's half-beorc and half-laguz, which gives him *very* interesting conversations with certain characters
Ike was so done with Excelblem that he Aether'd as much as possible to protect his sister from unnecessary harm, truly best bro...to bad his boyfriends died.
Ah, Maniac Mode. I did what my friends nicely called a “tin-man” of it when I started actually doing the ironman after Chapter 6 (I am not good at Fire Emblem). Honestly it was mostly fun, although my endgame was far more dire than yours. I had some pretty screwed units stat-wise, and a Resolve-Wrath Ike because I was convinced that consistency was smarter than luck. Instead of turtling, I did an all out push to the right, resulting in basically all of my units getting killed except for Ike. One by one they all fell, leaving Ike damn near surrounded and pretty low. Ashnard moved right into Ike’s move range, where I took out his first phase on player phase. Phase 2 Ashnard then proceeded to move first, miss, allowing Ike to finish him off during enemy phase. Probably one of my favorite experiences playing Fire Emblem, even if my finale was literally just Ike and the 6 remaining no kill units. Maniac Mode RD is, in my experience, much easier, but also proportionally much less fun
This time I decided to wait for the compilation before watching any of this, and it's kinda worth it honestly, getting the full movie experience out of this is pretty great.
She survived a while but still died late game. Nephennee absolutely carried until you stupidly forgot to heal her. Ironic how Ilyana is one of the few survivors, though I guess its not too surprising given her Shade ability makes her less likely to be targeted by enemies.
Oh wow, how did I forget that you actually did have to take two attempts at PoR because of your insane greed against the second map lmao Meaning, Boyd, Oscar, and Titania died twice in this. And Ike once. Neat!
one thing I really don't like about PoR and RD's final bosses is the immunity they have (this is worse in RD where Ike is the only one that can kill the final boss)
Eh a good deal of them are mid tier as they tend to be good no investment filler units. They lack canto and 1-2 range along with the normal shift limitations keep them down but they tend to be better then a lot of the non-Paladin Beorc units. Also Modercai smite is a staple of efficiency/LTC runs
Bruh. I completed Path of Radiance in alll difficulties. I played hard mode (Maniac) and I completed it with EVERYONE alive and i didn't lose any comrades. The top 5 of the ones who defeated enemies the most is: 1.Ike, 2. Lethe, 3. Nephenee, 4. Marcia and 5. Mia in all 3 difficulties. I did my best to make and put them on The Top 5 by using them a lot the most in all and every chapters. So yeah, i played this game a lot. I still can't believe that you lost Lethe, Nephenee, Mia and Marcia. Those are the best characters to me and there my favorites (and my waifus). And I have proof for I still have the memory card of the game and the safe data. It took me hours to complete the final chapter on the hardest difficulty. I mean I did make mistakes in the past that every time a character gets defeated, I turn off the game and start all over again and complete every chapters with every characters alive. And when I was this close of completing Maniac mode, I accidentally press the wrong button of letting Ike attack Ashnard with half of his life and Ike was defeated and game over and that made my blood boiled with rage, I just lost half of hour of progress and I was this close of completing Maniac with everyone alive. So I try again and I completed Maniac with everyone alive and without making a mistake and try to be careful of not letting a single character get defeat. The first time I completed Path of Radiance on Easy Mode, all the characters have been defeated and I had only just 5 characters remaining 😅. And I never knew that losing a character would really gone forever, for I though you would play the characters again even if they are defeated but that's not how Fire Emblem works and I just learned the hard way 😅. Because this is the very first Fire Emblem Game that I ever played. And this isn't like Pokemon, when a Pokemon gets defeated, you can play the Pokemon again that got defeated by recovering them. I though it was something like that in Fire Emblem but i was wrong, its nothing like Pokemon. From that day on, I try my best by completing the game with everyone alive. And I did the same thing with Sacred of Stones on the Gameboy Advanced.

Excelblem descendent of Marth and Soren and Ike’s love child confirmed
@@semjcolon So Soren had a sex change so he could have Ike’s baby? Not surprised at all.
@jtalkalot19 it's tellius so he only had to fill his transformation gauge
Ashnard managed to stop Excelblem’s evil plan by sacrificing himself
Truly the hero we needed
Ike truly fights for his friends. Well remaining ones.

He stopped the Exciblem Strats in the Finale. Already a True Hero.
@@zihadlazer8737 indeed.

The true heroes, who saved the run on more than one occasion with perfectly timed crits and bodyblocking.
It's even funnier when you realize that reckless strategies are how the Begnion Pegasus Knights canonically operate
Ilyana being alive at the end is truly survival of the funniest

It’s so cool that the game actually recognize if you lose early game units. Those small details make the game feel so much more real

If pokemon taught me anything is that flying types hate rocks. Poor poor little bird went squish.
Having the Black Knight theme quietly play everytime Zelgius appears is genius im dying 😂
I honestly cannot believe you found a way to make FE9 more tedious and then actually survived doing it

I had no idea stephan existed until I accidentally got him on my second playthrough of radiant dawn. Genuinely fascinating that he exists at all.

There's nothing quite like an Excelblem run ☠️
Ashnard and excelblem are definitely related
This time I decided to wait for the compilation before watching any of this, and it's kinda worth it honestly, getting the full movie experience out of this is pretty great.
my favorite part of path of radiance is when ike didn't know what the fuck was going on
20:19 "Needless to say... this is bullshit" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA
Not ONE mention of the several times the holy guard got crits and saved your healers from certain death?
"Who will remain relevant for the entire game"
Unless you accidentally get her killed early on... Let's see what happens here
She survived a while but still died late game. Nephennee absolutely carried until you stupidly forgot to heal her.
Ironic how Ilyana is one of the few survivors, though I guess its not too surprising given her Shade ability makes her less likely to be targeted by enemies.
On my recent hard playthrough, Titania got stat screwed bad enough to completely fall off by chapter 17.
It's well and truly magnificent gameplay. There's so many more survivors than usual, too. Peak performance, indeed.
This run was so fun! Ur awesome excelblem : )
Just rewatched all the recaps for this playthrough yesterday and the compilation drops immediately afterwards!
Ah man is this a treat! I always love the bigger, full collection vids.
i swear, the joke that those character are originate from super smash bros, never gets old
I didn't realize him starting with four iron swords was a glitch lmao
Dude we all thought that😂
Oh I am so excited to watch this so many times
i just want to say divinly mandated plot armor bullshit is the best way to define the black knights armor's blessing lol
you are a madman. well done!
Ashnard must be Excelblem's spirit animal. They tend to devise the same tactics without care for the live of their army.
Best part about this video is seeing this guy promote each Wiz to a frail knife wearing gansta of a Sage lmao
The rocks reminded me of that Iron Man Mekkah did where Mist had 30HP and got hit by all those three rocks.
To the enemy soldier who killed Reyson, I would give him a medal, and place it next to his grave.
I will be using this video to argue Ilyana>All other mages in the future
She absolutely is
Just when I thought Ranulf was safe from the hands of Excelblem. 💀
Can you really call it the worst way possible if the Greater Victory wasn't achieved?
In a way, aiming to win in the "worst way possible" but failing to achieve it makes this run an even worse way of beating the game
True 😔
Ilyana lives. Yes Chad Ilyana. Best mage no cap
hmm....radiance down maniac.........THAT will be MAJOR PAIN for sure....

THANK YOU 🙏
"Ashnard sacrifices his whole army to show he can still win." Soinds like a youtuber I know.
I can't believe i missed this
Tanith Lives!
Love this game so much🙏
There's no way in hell that I would ever play be the "game over start the whole game over rule" WHY would you WANT to do that?!
bruh. the "background" music so loud it turned your voiceover into the background music xD
one thing I really don't like about PoR and RD's final bosses is the immunity they have (this is worse in RD where Ike is the only one that can kill the final boss)
How about Radiant Dawn Randomized Hard Mode now?
No shot that they called that place Crimea, thats too real 💀
You weren’t kidding when you said you’d be using absolutely disgusting, degenerate tactics here. I mean Jesus level 20 Titania on ch 3? Disgusting.
this game has a very tragic story..
Why I’m late to this peak (rip marica and soren not getting to show their true power) idk but PoR is so amazing
Hell yeah Nephenee my goat
Giving your sages knives is triggering me lol
My goodness your Mia got Spd screwed. Only 16 speed at level 20 when she's fully capped it at level 18 on average.
Shinon should've died right away lol
Easy game, but some people can't get past chapter 21 ...
thoughts on a no promotion fe sacred stones run?
I can't hear you over the music
I swear i would not be able to do maniac mode for one reason i only uses units i like and not what's good Example i like using mist
If Ike is from fire emblem one….then where’s talys?
Ike isn't from fe1 you're thinking marth
whatever. go my holy guard reinforcements
Seems not 1 xp farming would have been better for the bonus xp then?
Infinite EXP is more than limited Bonus EXP
NOOOOOO THEY GOT MY GIRL NEPHENEE
This game made me more racist against laguz because they were all shitty units.

can anyone explain why this guy plays like this? you absolutely do not need to grind this hard in maniac mode. is he just bad or something?
he says its the worst way possible in the title. and no, i think it actually takes skill to make it look accidental
