      @@LosiRacing rere please, the people who scrimped and saved to find an original still can't run it because of parts availability, etc. A rere will give them something to run in addition to the joy of the original shelf queen. Make the rere with modern materials/slight cosmetic differences in parts (but keep interchangeability for those running originals that need parts) to keep from devaluing originals and to survive brushless/lipo power. I dreamed about this in 5th grade and the jrx-t soon after but couldn't afford them back then, I'd buy both in a heartbeat today.

    I had an early release JrX2 as a kid. It was my first racing car. I still own it today. I still have my ProSE and LXT as well. I see the reasoning for the Mini, in an effort not to de-value the marketplace. However, let me speak to you from the viewpoint of an owner of the classics; I am not going to put that old buggy on a track - it's just to risky. PLEASE consider a 1/10th scale re-release. I want a runner. BTW - I bought a Mini on launch. I'll buy a JrXT Mini if you decide to release that. I'm just saying....I'll buy 1/10th re-releases on DAY ONE. Thank you for everything, Gil. You feel like family to me and I'm so very happy that you're back with the Brand! GO LOSI!!!

    Really wish this was 1/10th scale. I have been waiting many years for the rerelease of it. I mean ill buy this little guy to tide me over XD
    I also want the JRXT rerelease, but now I am just shooting for the stars. But seriously Losi, us old guys will snap those up if you even decided to give it to us. There is a demand. I absolutely loved that platform back in the day.

    • @bacongl
      @bacongl 2 года назад +6

      @@LosiRacing That is a hard one to answer. I remember how fast those RC10 kit rereleases were bought up. I would say the demand is probably about equal since the same audience would be buying them. Now the old guys have to the money to buy the stuff we had as kids or the stuff we always wanted. I had a goldpan, but the Losi was my favorite by a mile. I am excited to see this old car get some love.

      I've never had the chance to own a 10th scale version. originals are far out of my range but they could simply just release the car with stampings in the parts that clearly denote a 2022 part.(I work in die casting professionally very easy to add a makers mark etc) then you would not touch the original market, and allow others to simply run the 2022 car or repair an original but be obviously new parts.

      I wouldn't necessarily say more just because the RC10 seems to have a bigger following in general, but it would definitely be enough to justify a rerelease due to the popularity of the vintage class. The AE/Losi rivalry was a big thing back in the day and it's still a big thing today, like Ford vs Chevy.
      Honestly, the RC10 Worlds Car rerelease was the first off-road associated I ever bought _because_ you guys didn't release a 1/10th scale JRX2 at the time. Before that I was pretty much all Losi for off-road. I've since been switching to Schumacher but mainly because of your lack of legacy support.

    After getting the Tamiya Hornet re-release a couple years ago, it's made me want to get more of the re-releases of vintage RC buggies I wanted as a teenager, but could never afford. I really wanted to get a Team Associated re-release of the original gold pan RC-10, but still couldn't afford it at the time. The re-issued Kyosho Turbo Optima looks sweet, as well as more of the Tamiya buggies like the Wild One Blockhead edition. Being able to acquire a re-issued RC-10 Goldpan, or JRX2 in 1/10 scale would be like a dream come true.
    Now that I'm making quite a bit more money, I'd love to get a 1/10 scale re-release of the JRX2. The 1/16 scale looks nice, but I prefer 1/10 scale. If you guys re-release the JRX2 in 1/10 scale, they'll fly off the hobby store shelves, and I'll gladly fork over the cash for one, no matter how much you charge for it.

      if it were a 1/10th scale is would compete from a price perspective with so many other vehicles. Since its 1/16 and 169.99 it has the chance to bring in new consumers to our industry while telling them the awesome heritage of Losi in the process. Not to mention we appreciate the collectors/retro market and want to be able to provide a product they can appreciate but not depreciate their real OG value.

    Saying you won't re-release a 1/10th scale because of the retro market is a lame copout. It would be so easy to mark parts or change them so they don't look like the originals.
    Why is this 1/16th scale whereas the Mini-B is 1/14th?

    • @LosiRacing
      @LosiRacing  2 года назад

      Sorry you think its an excuse. The retro marketing is 1 of main reasons but there is more to it as well. A 1/10th would be around $300(without battery and charger)... the transmission and other parts would need to be redesigned to hold up to todays power, the car would need to be converted to metric etc etc so at the end of the day it would not be a proper representation of the original... ultimately even the lovers of 1/10 are still in love with this car and they will be even more when they get them on 6/10. Now instead of buying 1 1/10th you can buy 2 for the price of a 1/10th and share the JRX2 with a loved one/friend. Its about growing the market and telling our story. BTW... where did you see the Mini-B is 1/14... we would like to fix that mistake if its on our site.

    • @TheImtoomuch
      @TheImtoomuch 2 года назад +1

      @@LosiRacing I do think it is an excuse. Your main competitor re-released their famous cars and they were a hit despite the fact that the execution was done poorly.
      Sorry, I don't know where I saw that the Mini-B was 1/14th. I tried finding it again, but I am unable to do that. It must have been my mistake. Sorry!

    Please re-release the Jrx2 in proper 1/10! AE have now rererererereleased the 40th anniversary gold pan and there are rumours they'll rere the truck too.
    I had a 2nd hand Jrx2 then a new Jnr T back in the day.
    It'd a great to have them again in 1/10.

  • @johnnyforriester7325

    The mini is nice. It really is. But 1/10 is and should be the next step.
    There are ways to ensure that collectors don't get screwed.
    But a modified re-release in 1/10 would also provide spare parts would once again be available to make project cars runnable again.
    Not everyone has 600 700 or 1000 dollars to buy old brittle parts that are scarce and over priced.
    Just consider the real impact it would have in vintage rc racing.

    Nope not going to get a mini. I want the real 1/10 scale version. You should do a re-release of the 1/10 scale. But since you don't, my money has been going to buying re-release Kyosho and Tamiya models (even ones that I already have from the 80's). Catering to scroungers and ebay scalpers makes no sense at all.

    I don't agree with the rationale of not re-releasing the original. They quote that people have been wanting the original, however they at Losi didn't want to release one. Star Wars, Star Trek, Halo,, Wheel of Time etc all failing because they release what they want instead of what fans want. And now a RC company does the same. Fail.

    1:20 - That is such atrocious reasoning. It's so bad that it doesn't even sound like actual reasoning, and instead just sounds like an excuse that they made up after the fact or to cover up their real reasons. Producing new 2024 models wouldn't have any major or relevant impact on the market for ORIGINAL 80's cars. Feels like we're being lied to, which is insulting. Why the secrecy about their real reasoning? Why the flimsy cover story?

    • @greenfinmusic5142
      @greenfinmusic5142 18 дней назад

      Their 'reasoning': "Bob paid a lot of money for an original 80's collectors item; so since it would somehow hurt his feelings or something if we started making new 2024 models, we think it's better to screw over a million people who want that 2024 car just so we can appease Bob and the extremely small number of other people like him.
      When you state it clearly like that, it makes it a bit more obvious that the real reason was probably a lack of demand (i.e. there probably aren't enough people clamoring for it to make it profitable to produce). So rather than tell the truth, which makes them look bad, they lie in a way that they think makes them look good.
