@@askbeforeplaying2983 And for some unknown reason, that lasted what, 6 months? Most of the Tamiya and Kyosho re-releases have been out for 10 years or more. A/E doesn't have the support and resources that Horizon provides LOSI with. I would be surprised if they answer with a 1/16 gold pan.
@@goldenmanuever1176 Yeah, that makes sense. It would make sense for them to in order to compete with Losi, but yeah, they don't have Horizon dumping endless resources onto them. I still wouldn't be too surprised if they try to release one.
if it were a 1/10th scale is would compete from a price perspective with so many other vehicles. Since its 1/16 and 169.99 it has the chance to bring in new consumers to our industry while telling them the awesome heritage of Losi in the process. Not to mention we appreciate the collectors/retro market and want to be able to provide a product they can appreciate but not depreciate their real OG value.
@@LosiRacing im glad you liked our humor thank you again for allowing us to review this mini. It was great we will be racing these this season on our track.
Saying you won't re-release a 1/10th scale because of the retro market is a lame copout. It would be so easy to mark parts or change them so they don't look like the originals. Why is this 1/16th scale whereas the Mini-B is 1/14th?
Sorry you think its an excuse. The retro marketing is 1 of main reasons but there is more to it as well. A 1/10th would be around $300(without battery and charger)... the transmission and other parts would need to be redesigned to hold up to todays power, the car would need to be converted to metric etc etc so at the end of the day it would not be a proper representation of the original... ultimately even the lovers of 1/10 are still in love with this car and they will be even more when they get them on 6/10. Now instead of buying 1 1/10th you can buy 2 for the price of a 1/10th and share the JRX2 with a loved one/friend. Its about growing the market and telling our story. BTW... where did you see the Mini-B is 1/14... we would like to fix that mistake if its on our site.
@@LosiRacing I do think it is an excuse. Your main competitor re-released their famous cars and they were a hit despite the fact that the execution was done poorly. Sorry, I don't know where I saw that the Mini-B was 1/14th. I tried finding it again, but I am unable to do that. It must have been my mistake. Sorry!
Please re-release the Jrx2 in proper 1/10! AE have now rererererereleased the 40th anniversary gold pan and there are rumours they'll rere the truck too. I had a 2nd hand Jrx2 then a new Jnr T back in the day. It'd a great to have them again in 1/10.
The mini is nice. It really is. But 1/10 is and should be the next step. There are ways to ensure that collectors don't get screwed. But a modified re-release in 1/10 would also provide spare parts would once again be available to make project cars runnable again. Not everyone has 600 700 or 1000 dollars to buy old brittle parts that are scarce and over priced. Just consider the real impact it would have in vintage rc racing.
Please make a losi 5T electric version RTR Or bring back the super Baja Rey 6s Or 8s 1/5 monster truck to complete with XMAXX Thanks my money is ready to be spent
If only you guys had better parts support. I have 2 mini 8ight-t's I'm scared to run cause if I blow a differential they're dead forever. Shame. I don't have that problem with my Traxxas cars.
Thanks for this insight, we are getting better are making sure the "platform" is around for a significant amount of time and is constantly evolving so we can better support our customers. Ultimately we cant make everything forever but we should be able to lengthen the time line.
Nope not going to get a mini. I want the real 1/10 scale version. You should do a re-release of the 1/10 scale. But since you don't, my money has been going to buying re-release Kyosho and Tamiya models (even ones that I already have from the 80's). Catering to scroungers and ebay scalpers makes no sense at all.
I don't agree with the rationale of not re-releasing the original. They quote that people have been wanting the original, however they at Losi didn't want to release one. Star Wars, Star Trek, Halo,, Wheel of Time etc all failing because they release what they want instead of what fans want. And now a RC company does the same. Fail.
1:20 - That is such atrocious reasoning. It's so bad that it doesn't even sound like actual reasoning, and instead just sounds like an excuse that they made up after the fact or to cover up their real reasons. Producing new 2024 models wouldn't have any major or relevant impact on the market for ORIGINAL 80's cars. Feels like we're being lied to, which is insulting. Why the secrecy about their real reasoning? Why the flimsy cover story?
Their 'reasoning': "Bob paid a lot of money for an original 80's collectors item; so since it would somehow hurt his feelings or something if we started making new 2024 models, we think it's better to screw over a million people who want that 2024 car just so we can appease Bob and the extremely small number of other people like him. When you state it clearly like that, it makes it a bit more obvious that the real reason was probably a lack of demand (i.e. there probably aren't enough people clamoring for it to make it profitable to produce). So rather than tell the truth, which makes them look bad, they lie in a way that they think makes them look good.

Still have my original, well used build it with my Dad he use to take me to The Ranch those long drives from Vegas when gas was cheap I'd get some skating in when the batteries were charging. Man those were the days!
Love this... thanks for sharing. The 80's was a great time for RC and skateboarding!
Build the 1/10th one now.....
Awesome!
Looks awesome. I just pre-ordered the Blue one
Thank you so much for coming out with this!!! How can people in Japan purchase one?
I will buy one if in 10th scale, maybe make it lipo ready to separate it from the original cars similar to what Kyosho does. I'm not interested in a mini
I have bought the new Ultima, optima mid and turbo optima mid, and an RC 10 re-release. I also plan on buying the scorpions from kyosho and tomahawk. I will not buy this as a mini. Once in tenth scale I will buy. You can still honor the originals by changing to modern tires, different decal set for the body, make it lipo ready, maybe a slipper. No interest in smaller cars
Amazing video, awesome products - and thank you for NOT simply re-re'ing a 10th scaler and respecting our efforts, us who have painfully rebuild one (or more...) of the originals over the previous decades (yes... looking at you AE....)
I've never had the chance to own a 10th scale version. originals are far out of my range but they could simply just release the car with stampings in the parts that clearly denote a 2022 part. then you would not touch the original market, and allow others to simply run the 2022 car or repair an original but be obviously new parts.
Would be neat to put the STX radio tech in a reproduction shell of an old JR radio for these
The original will keep it's value. But a 1/10th scale will give them the spare parts to actually drive them. Shelf queens are for rich people. Re-re's are for enthusiasts
I think it's a mistake not to release a 10th scale. The eBay pirates win when you refuse to meet customer demand.
Valid point on the ebay pirates
Hi I just bought one of these little suckers really fun handles great very nimble but I was wondering are you guys planning on coming up with any upgrades for it specifically in the bulkhead and maybe the fiberglass chassis having a carbon fiber chassis I did swap out and put a brushless and then end up hitting a curb but I’m just wondering so I can possibly make it a little more rigid and tough for the next time that possibly happens I mean it is incredibly cheap to actually fix it compared to my Traxxas
I have an issue now.. buy RTR or buy the parts to build... I still have my OG Jrx2 and it's original box top as well as at least one of every vehicle Losi made based on the platform (well except GTX as my NXT is basically a GTX and I rebuilt it from a GTX and my og NXT body ;) ) Now you have me thinking of cadding up a molded chassis and printing it.. man I feel like I just became even POORER. And Losi why isnt there a Losi Facebook page? There is a TLR one but they don't have much to do with retro or non racing models.. :)
Hey Chris, we do have a Losi FB page :)
@@LosiRacing Facebook is so hard to find pages on at times.. the TLR page was the only one coming up, a day or so after I found the losi page and put a pic of my collection there :)
Um… yes plz.
Better produce a million of them
@losi, please release version 1:10 of the JRX
my first real RC Car was a JRx-T, I hope they make that too or at least a Conversion Kit with the truck body ,the truck 3 peice wheels and tires, and the front bumper and rear body mount
Losi! Please make losi micros 2.0!!
Can they be a different design or have to be the same???
@@LosiRacing what ever! A new range of losi micros would be cool! I think if it could resemble the mini 2.0 as much as possible it would be awsome but I'm sure many of us would like a new 2.0 micro for sure
And definitely more than 1
Agree or remake a losi mini eight T would be awesome too!
Not sure about that open diff in the gearbox - all the grease just leaves the diff itself openly into the gearbox itself. Hopefully 3rd parties make a closed gear diff or a ball diff.
MIP for the win!
Awsome I need one!
I'll be honest, I've never hit "pre-order" so fast as I did with the mini JRX2. 😂
This is the perfect car for a spec class at a small 10th scale outdoor tracks
yup... you get it!
@@LosiRacing We ran a spec mini b program on carpet this past winter. We're going to do the same with the car on my personal outdoor track.
The money being spent at the moment on vintage racing, and where are Losi ?!!! They need a kick up the ass.
This is too cool and I will probably get one! Any plans to do the jrxt stadium truck in the same size?
mmmmm.... standard response... we are always taking in consumer feedback for future products :)
Hah, you know they have it in the skunk works already. Change a few parts and sell an entire car. I also would not be surprised to see kit versions down the road either. Personally, I see this as a great way to feel out product interest. then introduce variations and culminate in a 10th scale release. they played to super picky collectors by.saying were not touching your cars, but can now say hey look at the interest in the the 10th scale re release we want to satisfy our fans begging us for a 10th scale.
who were the people driving the cars in the video?
Only thing at the time? Uhhh RC10 gold pan! AE needs to make a 1/16 stealth gold pan🙌 (im still probably gonna get this too lol).
I wouldn't be surprised if AE does respond to this with a 1/16 goldpan. They already have a 1/10 RC10 rere so they could base it off that.
@@askbeforeplaying2983 Well if they do, I'd be first in line. Competition is good for everyone.
man my dad used to have a XXX awhile ago
I dont like the reason why they didn't make it 1/10.
Since when does a business care about collectors over making money? -U10
How fast does this go?
Christmas in May.
please make a 1-10 re-release for the jrxt please please
Losi can make a 10 scale kit an updated a little bit just like kyosho does.😁
That is a really old losi
When the jrxt mini coming out
we can neither confirm nor deny :)
Maybe a TLR?
Monahan Shoals
I would’ve loved to own this in 1/10 but I understand why it’s mini
if it were a 1/10th scale is would compete from a price perspective with so many other vehicles. Since its 1/16 and 169.99 it has the chance to bring in new consumers to our industry while telling them the awesome heritage of Losi in the process. Not to mention we appreciate the collectors/retro market and want to be able to provide a product they can appreciate but not depreciate their real OG value.
@@LosiRacing maybe in the future xxx re-release 👀
rc retro had a review and run on a real track. go check that out when you have time
Loved it... that fridge scene took us back!
@@LosiRacing im glad you liked our humor thank you again for allowing us to review this mini. It was great we will be racing these this season on our track.
With the emphasis on “mini”. And small it is…. 1/18 scale it is. Binoculars are highly recommended.
Ummm you for got the goldpan rc10 team assitaed
Even though Gil Losi Jr. helped design that car Associated is a competitor but hopefully they will do it
Saying you won't re-release a 1/10th scale because of the retro market is a lame copout.
Hey Losi, I love you doing this, but buggies are not my thing, Are you planning a similar JRXT version? If so i want to buy 3 of them
Harris James Young Scott Rodriguez Mark
Please make a losi 5T electric version RTR
Or bring back the super Baja Rey 6s
Or 8s 1/5 monster truck to complete with XMAXX
Thanks my money is ready to be spent

Fail.

1/10 please! Horizon/Losi y'all going to be at a loss when aftermarket venders catch on and make 1/10 scale parts for the OG's.
