Can you fit in 370 size motors in this ? Basically just 4mm difference in diameter & a bit longer can, standard minit 2.0 comes with a 370 so id imagine it would fit but maybe mess with the handling a bit having more torque & bit more weight in the rear. If so.... Feel free too try the Tamiya sport tuned 370 motor in this for some more speed. Esc should be fine with it if it fits physically in the buggy.
i have an original JRX2 and a JRXT i love them ,its amazing to see the same old school tech but shrunk and modernized , the JRX2 mini might just have a home in my collection
I had to rewind when I heard you thank God. I thank you for having the conviction to state that on YT and you have a new subscriber specifically because of that.
Back when I was racing (late 80’s - late 90’s), I ran Associated RC 10’s. Raced against plenty of those Losi buggies. That’s a pretty nice little buggy.
I still rip around on an old RC10 T3. It is my dads, things really old. He got it 20+ years ago. Pretty good condition too, as it’s been broken in a closet most of its life! I recently pulled it out and fixed it up. Glad I did. Now we got a new Losi on the way too!
Back in 1987 I was 13 years old. I had been racing rc for about 1 year. We ran at a track and hobby shop called Skyway hobbies in Paradise, Ca.. On a Saturday we where surprised when 2 guys from Losi showed up at our track. These 2 guys where top dudes. Gils dad and someone else from Losi. In there hand was a prototype Losi JR-X2. My buddy and I where top 2 racers at the track Kirk is his name much older than me. So we where asked to give the car a run and provide thoughts. We did. I ran one race with the new buggy. Loved it. Amazing car at the time the best. Kirk ran a pumped up RC10 gold pan and myself a Kyosho Optima mid gold edition 4wd buggy. We enjoyed the new Losi over our own cars. They took our information down and left. I had a blast that day meeting them. As a kid it was huge. About 2 months later I got a call. So did Kirk. We where offered a JR-X2 at a discount price. We both got one and early first run kits. I was Losi bound from then on out. That buggy and I put many trophies on my shelf. I converted it to the pro long shock tower up front and "H" arm conversion in rear to do away with the 5 link. Although I think the 5 link was better. I ran it for a very long time. Worn out long time then sold it. I should have NEVER gotten rid of that car. But oh well life goes on. But was very cool to be a part of the JR-X2 in the beginning. It has a special place to me. I still have my 2wd open trophies.
Got to have one! I think these would make a great off road spec class. I still have my original JRX2 I bought back in the late 80's (white box still have it too,) it was my first hobby grade rc car. Had alot of fun building and racing it. Wish parts were still available for it.
NEAT little Losi! Funny speed test...I LIKE it!! GREAT job Saylors for introducing me to this NEW vehicle and what an honest speed test!! Go to BASH MOUNTAIN anyway!! 💟👍😘
That’s bringing back some memories, I always races Associated stuff, the old gold tub cars. It would be cool if associates made an RC10 in the same scale for a run off!
I just got through watch a vid on this on the Losi channel and boom you guys post hehe. Very cool to see guys. I love Losi. I raced Losi for 4yrs. Cool vid guy's 🔥👍✌️
I still have my Tamiya grasshopper, hornet and lunchbox from when I was younger. They are all shelf queen's. Reason being is I had to shovel alot of snow and mow miles of grass to buy them.
I love the Retro stuff that's becoming available again. Alright Team Associated, where is th nostalgic RC/10 Buggy. I have five buggies and two Stadium trucks I miss running them so much I don't want to break them even though they're almost indestructible. Just boxxed up & tucked away. I used to run a 12 turn tripple wind & it would suck the batteries flat in 2 minutes. 40k rpm motor back then.
The junior T was my first rc car. I hope to God they remake the junior T! Was the stadium truck version of this car. Extremely rare to find an original. I will buy one immediately if they remake the junior T!!!
A top speed of 15mph is fine on a small enough track, plus it's actually slow enough for kids and grandparents to have a chance at controlling it. In other words, it's a great choice for getting a few and setting up a small dirt track at home to have some good family fun. That's what I'm going to do. I want to get a few FCX24 Smashers for the same reason. Both types would work great in a small backyard track. That's where they would showcase their awesomeness, not on a huge airport runway.
You two looked so excited yiu went straight out and took out.of box on site. Don't get me wrong, I be that excited too. Lol. Awesome looking buggy and great review. Thanks!
Also raced the JRXT, although mine was a converted JRX2. Even competed in the first German National Monster Truck Races ... 1990 or 91. Been a while, forgot which.
My spring rc project has been a 2nd hand mini jrx2. It was body swapped with a tyco turbo hopper. Two notches cut in the nose to clear the shock tower and a couple divots to engage with the trailing arm towers.
Looks like the hornet that I built when I was in my teens, I actually have one now but I've tried to convert it to a ubec but have confused myself with it and not sure how to go forward literally 😉 with it. Nice video again!. Always love watching you two.
That is AWESOME!! Absolute bragging rights for sure! You going to pick one of these up so it finally has a buddy to hangout with after 30 years!? 😉👍😁😎⚓️
Great review but here is the thing it goes 15,mph, but this buggy is a true hobby grade racing buggy, not only does it look like the only JRX2 it's built just like and as good as the original one. Those are real oiled fill shocks. Has ball bearings, metal out shafts and metal dog bones, all metal gears in the transmission too. I watched a review where they took it to a real RC track and it performed as well as the big version,it was balanced well and could really take jumps and handles great. But great review guys as always. Abby needs to do bash mountain, lol you are the Queen.
I like how companies are re-releasing retro machines with parts to handle modern electronics. HOWEVER.... I think they are missing a key point they are leaving some money on the table an that is, most of these modern re-releases were originally a KIT. They are literally banking on nostalgia without understanding that the main reason we love these machines so long is that we could BUILD them, UNDERSTAND them in how they work. I love that Losi brought back the JRX2. Would love if Traxxas did the same with the Blue Eagle...but I implore these companies at LEAST offer a limited run of them in kit form. On another note, I do love that Tamiya has kept up production of the Clod Buster, but in their case, I'd like to see improved plastics an gears for brushless motors.
I found these today at a hobby shop. They were buy one get one free! Not sure if that is from Losi, or just that particular store, but I snagged a pair.
Yes, it looks just like my sons first RC Buggy... he broke the front shock towers off second time out. I think there is a reason we don't make them like that anymore. Not a good idea to take that beauty to "bash mountain."
Honestly, not positive but my educated guess is about 12-15 minutes. Didn’t run ours completely out while filming this And our TT/ IG content on one charge! 👍😁😎⚓️
To be fair it wasn't made to go super fast it was made for racing back in the 80s. 🤷 It would've been awesome to have this to take to the track. Id love to have 2 one for a shelf queen and one to slap a brushless system in and blow the tires off of it 😆🤣
That's the problem with nostalgia-bait releases from overpriced Losi and Kyosho: people come into comments sections and defend the sh*t out of them and then buy two of them, causing Losi and Kyosho to charge absurd prices for their decades old "shelf queens" If you want a shelf queen, build a damn model car, it'll look nicer and be cheaper. Thanks for ruining prices with your nostalgia.
@@Boogie_the_cat I can assure you I did not buy any of these, loI I said I’d love to have 2 and it’s just a comment, I wasn’t trying to get anybody to buy anything.. I 100% agree this crap is way over priced, can’t argue with you there 🤣
Nice I may get one to go on the shelf. I have an old XXXNT that is one of my favorites. Its in good shape with original body and runs good but mostly a shelf queen. I love vintage TEAM LOSI. now losi please bring back the XXXNT please. Lol
My first true race level rc buggy was the original 1/10 scale jrx2 I just pre- ordered mine in the original red/ yellow tho back then the wheels were a different color than now these things are gonna sell out great video saylors
I have 5, RC/10s aluminum gold, graphite and the team truck. Electronics are kinda cheap, compared to what they used to be & better weather resistance when I was and High School. But with the technology today those RC/10s can really sing. They last over half-an-hour also, not like the ones when we were Young and it was 5 minutes.
I watched a video where the guy said they didn’t want to upset the guys and gals that worked hard to own an original. Imagine you held on to something for 30 years, then it just gets remade. Don’t know if this is REALLY why, but that’s what they told everyone. Could have been a price thing? Dunno 🤷♂️ Still looks amazing 👍😁😎⚓️
@@TheRcSaylors interesting theory, but Tamiya must have shattered many dreams of restored original value with all their re releases. I sold my original Tamiya Fox parts, then the next year they re released the car, for once in my life it was great timing.
I have been waiting a very long time for them to rerelease the 10th scale version. I also want the 10th scale JRXT. I wish this little guy came in a kit because I am not a fan of the electronics. These are not going to be great bashers. They like tracks. Also the 380 motor size will be limiting as well as the micro servo.
@@TheRcSaylors lol 😂we all know someone’s going to modify it!!!! Yes but it looks amazing. I remember the one I had like it was yesterday, love your channel btw it always fun to watch!!!
Abby up front yeah. For just playing around & having fun it's fast enough. Quick & nimble looks great, love the color. Definitely would be fun off road, so go climb that ⛰ & bash away. So what vehicle 🤔 do you need for a shelf 🤴 to sit next to the queen 👸 🤔👸🤴❔❔Fun little video 📹 today. ⚓⚓👍💛💜💚👍👸⛰🤴👍⚓⚓.
Does anyone know if the gearing can handle brushless? I feel like that's an issue if not. I myself would appreciate the original was brushed, but would also like brushless as an upgrade.
It's too small for bash mountain isn't it?? 😊 👍 ⚓🤔 Your definitely going to break and or wreck the delicate body if you ramp it off the big one 😖😆👍 The other color with the yellow wheels looks more retro 👍👍
..And with inch-hardware that kinda, sorta slots-in with a bit of extra drilling and fitting.. Now THAT would be proper 'retro' 🤣 Oh, and bronze bushings everywhere.
Should I buy one of these or wait and see if a brushless one will come out? If I buy one now I’ll put the dynamite motor in the brushless mini t into it.
It’s like 50bucks for the hat, expensive slow thing, nice shelf queen for suckers with money to spend. Buy tons of parts while available for brushless bashing, parts will be hard to find in just a short while for sure 😁
On my RCs, the tires wear out before they get old. Rubber only holds it's natural oils for so long, and old rubber either does one of two things: 1) rubber belts like in belt-drive systems will break down by absorbing moisture and will turn into a paste, sticking to everything 2) rubber in tires etc... will dry out and crack due to losing the moisture. Rubber has a fairly "short" shelf life. Especially soft, thin rubber like in tires. If your rubber tires are getting old and dry and cracking, there is nothing you can do about it. Rubber breaks down over a period of 5-15 years depending on the quality of it. If your old tires are breaking down, the only suggestion is to build a time machine, go back in time and actually drive the vehicles before the tires break down. Ya know, RCs are made to drive, not sit on a shelf. If your tires break down, that's IT. You can't recondition rubber that has dried out. It's done. Also, instead of asking random RUclipsrs who are busy, maybe join an online forum for RC enthusiasts. I get same day answers to all my questions on the official Arrma forum, but join the forum that matches the brand you own. RUclipsrs are kinda busy to answer questions, especially questions like yours that take minutes to answer, and the answer isn't even what you want to hear, so you'll probably have more questions after you read the answer, and the RUclipsrs are busy editing videos and raising their children, trying to make a living, and your question is simply a result of shelf-queen-syndrome, and nobody can help you with that. Try doing some actual research instead of bothering RUclipsrs. Take some "man up" pills.
The key is, to have permission and not be in anyones way 😉 As long as everyone (including full scale pilots) follow the rules, no one is ever in anyones way. And not all airports have planes flying in and out of them all the time. Some may only have planes using the runway once a week or less. Stay safe and have fun 👍😁😎⚓️
They are all box art paint schemes. The red is the original from 1988. The blue is the Junior 2 which was a more economical version of the JRx2 and the black/pink is the JRxPro from early 90's.
I would love if tamiya brought back the grasshopper 🤗 that was my first rc car and I had so much fun with that car as a child you don't realize how valuable toys would be when you get older I had so many mint condition toys and rcs "because of my ocd" I would place all my toys back in the packaging when done playing with them....and then I got a little brother😖....who destroyed everything!!!!! Lol you can guess what happened to my grasshopper lol not to venture off subject but I had every single he man and voltron and thundercats action figures and hot wheels that were out and yes he destroyed all of them lol this car really brings back memories 😁 sorry for the book guys and gals....I just had to vent😫😭🤧
The gang is doing great! Popeye is a very happy healthy doggy and Amelia is growing faster than I ever imagined. Also super happy and keeps me going. 👍😎⚓️
They addressed why they didn’t go 1/10 scale. Something about upsetting those who worked hard to obtain a true, 30 year old original version. Thanks for tuning in 👍😁😎⚓️
If we did it on dirt people would have told us to do it on asphalt because all of our speed tests are done on the same surface to keep things as fair as possible 👍😁😎⚓️

Does anyone know if the gearing can handle brushless? I feel like that's an issue if not. I myself would appreciate the original was brushed, but would also like brushless as an upgrade.
I'm sure it can. Probably very similar to the mini b.
Losi even encourages a brushless upgrade, with no mention of needing upgraded gears. I’m so tempted to upgrade to brushless!
Would buy a 1/10 for sure. This was my first RC car many years ago,
Spikes work better off-road & will be a harder compound so the pins dig in not flex as much
It's too small for bash mountain isn't it?? 😊 👍 ⚓🤔
Your definitely going to break and or wreck the delicate body if you ramp it off the big one 😖😆👍
The other color with the yellow wheels looks more retro 👍👍
It probably won’t be able to conquer bash mountain, but I’d say it could be fun ramping around at the base and maybe off of the top of it! 👍😁😎⚓️
@@TheRcSaylors you know it 😆😆
Always a good time with the Saylors ⛵
Yup it's going on the shelf 😎
if they really wanted to make it retro.. let us build it!
..And with inch-hardware that kinda, sorta slots-in with a bit of extra drilling and fitting.. Now THAT would be proper 'retro' 🤣 Oh, and bronze bushings everywhere.
I always wanted an original jrx2. I will own one of these
I saw this on a Facebook mini page and thought it was a joke 😂.
thanks for the vid. really 15mph? i looks like my old RC-19. i spoze they all looked like it back in the day. Have fun.
Should I buy one of these or wait and see if a brushless one will come out? If I buy one now I’ll put the dynamite motor in the brushless mini t into it.
So wish it was tenth scale, feels like their teasing us.
Would love to see this losi run side by side with the mini t 2.0
Still have all my original cars and trucks.
It’s like 50bucks for the hat, expensive slow thing, nice shelf queen for suckers with money to spend. Buy tons of parts while available for brushless bashing, parts will be hard to find in just a short while for sure 😁
15mph is perfect for small tracks. I'd keep this one box stock
Off topic question. Do you guys keep your tires on all your rc cars and trucks? And do they ever get brittle and crack? Any recommendations???
On my RCs, the tires wear out before they get old.
Rubber only holds it's natural oils for so long, and old rubber either does one of two things:
1) rubber belts like in belt-drive systems will break down by absorbing moisture and will turn into a paste, sticking to everything
2) rubber in tires etc... will dry out and crack due to losing the moisture.
Reminds me of 1984
Reminds me of my tamiya hornet from my younger years
Needs a brushless upgrade. It’s a little pricey but I get it
How do i fix my rc car i can only drive and i cant turn it i am new to this and need help
Oh that's awesome but geez it is way too expensive!
When does this release
It’s available for preorder now, and apparently if you preorder and are one of the first 400 you’ll get a free hat! Looks awesome 👍😁😎⚓️
You’ve gotten your 1200 likes, I wanna see her at bash mountain! 😁
I’m gettin one of them there fur sure!
Awesome! Love your avatar, lol. Please consider preordering yours through our link when you do! Have a good day 👍😁😎⚓️
Hey Nate, is that an active air field you are always filming on ?
We’ve spoken about this location some in our recent videos actually. Do you have a specific question regarding where we are at?
@@TheRcSaylors Not so much where your at, but if it's an active airport how do they handle you being in the way ???
The key is, to have permission and not be in anyones way 😉 As long as everyone (including full scale pilots) follow the rules, no one is ever in anyones way. And not all airports have planes flying in and out of them all the time. Some may only have planes using the runway once a week or less. Stay safe and have fun 👍😁😎⚓️
Can you guys do the kyosho 4runner 1:24 scale next
We will definitely check that out! 👍😁😎⚓️
Late squad today still cool looking RC car 🚙😎😎😎😎⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️
We uploaded this video early this morning! Happy you tuned in Fam Jay!! 👍😁😎⚓️
@@TheRcSaylors you’re vids always the best my friends 😎😎😎⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️
Wish they would make a micro t again
Maybe they’ll read this comment and realize there is a demand for it!? 🤞👍😁😎⚓️
Can you make it brushless?
Yup
What is the DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE THREE KOOL BUGGIES. RED/BLUE/BLACK. THIS IS SUCK A GREAT BUGGIE LOVE ALL THE MINI T 2.0’s.
They are all box art paint schemes. The red is the original from 1988. The blue is the Junior 2 which was a more economical version of the JRx2 and the black/pink is the JRxPro from early 90's.
O kool all the same biggie
Early morning!
Morning! Woot! You got first!! 💯👍😁😎⚓️
gosh it's cute 😍
👍😁😎⚓️
Weird. I see this on Horizon's site talking it up like it's a new release, but I see your video here's from 2 years ago.
I still have my JRXT.
They have! Check out your favorite hobby source, Tamiya Grasshopper kits have been in stores for a while.
I like it
Olá amigo Passando pra prestigiar aquele super like 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏
Very cool retro!
Ps... How are Popeye And Amelia?
The gang is doing great! Popeye is a very happy healthy doggy and Amelia is growing faster than I ever imagined. Also super happy and keeps me going. 👍😎⚓️
It’s too small for bash mountain find a bmx track or what happened to the oval dirt track at ur airfield
Cool no doubt but they missed the mark, should’ve been 1:10th scale.
They addressed why they didn’t go 1/10 scale. Something about upsetting those who worked hard to obtain a true, 30 year old original version. Thanks for tuning in 👍😁😎⚓️
I have 3 team Losi cars and one associated
Nate, no need for "knobblys" in front on a 2wd car.
I know 👍😁😎⚓️
But always grateful for knowledge drops!
Isn’t this a Tamiya Grasshopper copy?
Not by a LONG shot. Not even close.
You should have done this on dirt.
If we did it on dirt people would have told us to do it on asphalt because all of our speed tests are done on the same surface to keep things as fair as possible 👍😁😎⚓️
