*i would like to see a scoreboard somewhere maybe invetween matches, it helps understand the importance of matches*
I don’t even like Hikaru, but man, I can’t help but root for him. He plays entertainingly, and goes for it. What a mad lad.
been into chess less than 2 months and now Im hooked, ur videos are a big part of that!
Actually sacing rook by Rapport was the best move, and Bf6 was supposed to stop Bg5 atacking the rook.
7:30
Now Rapport instead of looking like a drink guy looks like complete genius
@@lukas5818 He sure is good at confusing the opponent when they're completely winning against him, twice in a row now vs Duda and now this
Love your recaps! One thing: you should consider adding some acoustic foam to your room to dampen the reverb/echo on your mic. It's particularly noticeable especially when you're as loud and hype as you are today! Other than that keep up the great work of demystifying the world of super GMs!
Hikaru move: 40 minutes
Gothamchess recap of every game: less than 30 minutes.
Awesome stuff. Thank you!
Thank you for the fun recaps of the candidates. Looking forward to your IM tournament recaps!
Magnus: I want to play candidates.
FIDE: No, you can't.
Magnus: There are so many players, I want to beat them all.
FIDE: No, you can't.
Magnus: Every time, you give me only one player. That is so boring.
Hikaru came to fight! Those were some serious Endgame tactics!
It’s a really big deal to me to have Levy’s recaps to watch. It makes these games way more exciting to watch.
Best way to view this stuff for sure 🙏
I agree. Especially because the live commentaries spanning hours is way too long, despite the talented commentators
im not the biggest fan of hikaru in the tournament but this defense was next level. 99% accuracy in the end game and 97% accuracy throughout the whole game with 25-30 moves of dynamite prep from alireza on hikaru.
Anyone else hear Levy explain the moves and be like “yeah I would have totally played that” and get stuck on move 2?
That last was game was just sheer beauty. Thamk you Levy these recaps are a real treat :)
Thanks Gotham for making these amazing recaps
Thank god. ham.
I’m waiting to watch all these Candidates updates ASAP
It was so wholesome when Alireza stood up and was just smiling at this epic battle. He really loves his sport :‘)
nothing is more worthy of respect to me than a player appreciating an opponent's good play
Good as always, great game by Alireza and Hikaru. Levy, I’d like it if you show the standings at the end of the video as you mostly do in other tournaments.
I’ve been waiting all day for this
That end game between hikaru and alireza tho, hikaru just got legendary juan right there
I ignored everything today for the recap lol thanks Levy
missing out tbh
All good, was a little busy and I get to get caught up in 30 minutes
Alireza is here to play! Man this boy is exciting. 2 piece sacs in 3 games. Fascinating! This is his first candidates too! Hot damn
I was refreshing RUclips like a madman for Levy to show up. I couldn't wait to see how Hikaru performed against Firouzja.
Levy is up against Marijuana and Alcohol. 😂
Nakamura is a beast. Better stated, he is The Beast. Haven't seen Big D like that since the legendary NY Giants and Lawrence Taylor (the original beast) dominated the gridiron. AWESOME!!!
I’ve been stuck in bed with 102 degree fever for the past few days and your videos have really helped get me through these days. I’ve been a long time fan and your videos always give me something to look forward to. Your work in making high quality content is appreciated
I’m hoping that temperature is in Fahrenheit 😂
Hope you get better soon!
Wonderful monologue there at 4:00 well put.
Levy's jokes making fun of viewers are absolutely hilarious. I still laugh every time I hear, "Well, you would hang mate here." "You would hang your queen." "You would lose this position." It's great. And funny because it's mostly true.
You would find a way to hang a rook , there are no rooks in the position but you would find a way to hang one😂😂😂
One of te most beautiful games I've ever seen. Alireza vs Hikaru. What a piece of art.
Levy, I'm from India. It's 00:40 here and I can't sleep without watching your recap everyday....UPLOAD ASAP BRO xD
hello indian bhai mei bhi dekhta hoon levy sone se pehle
@@miau_1247 he just repeated what I said
@@miau_1247 i just said that hello brother from india i too watch levy's videos before sleeping

Jesus Christ. This is like all those fight scenes in the movies between two masters.Exactly the same energy
I’m really rooting for Hikaru, that draw was so clutch for him, I’m excited.
Love these recaps as always you make these crazy games even more exciting
Rooting for Hikaru, he’s doing so well
13:48 Levy: *calls the Najdorf the Grunfeld*
When the recaps are better than games…
Hikaru game was so insane. one of the best of this year for sure
It is a weird game, but you make chess enjoyable. Loving the recaps! (Oh, btw have you ever gotten hurt while playing squash? I almost broke my nose once, haha)
@@HEDWARDMUSIC this community is not elitist, fortunately
That Hikaru endgame was ridiculous. So exciting.
I was watching Ding's game and the eval just rising and rising in his favour and later when I saw the results -
DRAW!?!?
Hey levy, is me again 😂 I just made to the 900 elo mark 🙌🏽 I know I’m such a noob. Your videos is what got me playing chess. I started playing in march. With an elo of 436 on average.
Time for my favorite part of the day
Hikaru upgraded his endgame Stockfish engine recently.
great day. Nepo's still my favourite. also, in one hour (it's 23:10pm for me now) my friend is going to have a b-day. if you want to, you can wish her something (write it down, and I'll tell it her). thank you
Happy Birthday! Best of wishes!
HA PP Y REALLY LATE BIRTHDAY FRIEND, SWAG SWAG SWAG SWAG SWAG
As someone who is interested in chess and the candidates but not good enough to understand the nuance in real time, these are honestly crucial recaps. Thanks again Levy😁
Never clicked faster in my life. Absolutely love These recaps!
Hi Levy, so much enjoying your recaps from the Netherlands. One tip/pointer/question: could you please state the current standings/points of the players of whom your about to recap the match of? That would make it, at least for me, more exciting since I know whom to hope for that is gonna win in that specific match you are gonna do the recap of. Hope you get to read this. Look forward to your next recap!!!
So there is
G1, G2, G3
and HIKARU
Bro I was watching that game all day. Crazy position yet Hikaru held on, against a very well prepped Alireza, in what looked like a losing position, low on time. Hikaru didn't let that eval bar go anywhere away from the middle. Every move was critical. Insane bruv.
