So sad she passed. I discovered her early in my opera studies. Was delighted with her voice and her interpretation of the doll was the best for me. Admired her so much. Rest in Peace Angel ❤❤❤

James ALEXANDER. I'm an inveterate Jackie Evancho fan. I've followed her career closely and I've been to her concerts. She's gifted, and she probably is a true prodigy. That is the way I see it as well. Who is to say how Jackie could have progressed, had she wanted to get more in-depth classical training. Jackie does well given the fact that she and her team seems to believe that a lack of training is somehow a virtue. That point worked well when she was 10-12 years old, but after a gift such as hers is identified, it is sad to see it not developed to its full potential, simply due to her parent;s bias against that classical music community. Lisa didn't want to be a "stage mother" by making her daughter into something she, herself wanted, rather than what Jackie wanted (judging by past comments from Lisa). I think she went too far in the OPPOSITE direction. Has Jackie been exposed to the classical music training and culture enough to know whether she would really like it or not? Seems she has been kept from exploring that very much at all. Patricia, perhaps coming from a country that still holds an appreciation for old-school classical music, took that ball and ran into the end-zone with it.

A beautiful talent taken far too soon 😢when we should have enjoyed her music for many years to come, but we were priveledged to know her, even if it was just for a short while. 🙏
Dare I say that this aria is a natural for Patricia. She can truthfully sing that, when she walks the streets, people stop by and look at her and make sure that they do so from head to toe not to miss any of her beauty. But seriously this is a great rendition of this famous aria, particularly considering she is only 17 at that time and is singing without a microphone in a good size venue. Bravo ! I am addicted to Patricia, and thankfully not all addictions are bad for you.
She is 17 years old here. Her vocal interpretation of "Once Upon a Time in America" is a classic, and at this age, to have that level of artistry to match the impeccable voice is truly amazing.
I agree, I was lucky enough to be able to travel from the UK to Cesky Krumlov in the summer to hear Pat'ka perform that song and a few others, although she must of been a bit cold wearing what she was!
You know, I've been an opera lover for many years, but since I discovered Patricia last year somehow all other contemporary sopranos have faded under her shadow. I sometimes wonder if I am just beguiled by the fact that she is insanely good-looking - but no! Many others are also beautiful women, but it is the unique quality of her voice and her precocious stage presence that draws me back again and again. I believe she ranks with the greatest voices of the past, and that in future she will be reckoned THE voice of the first half of this century.
This description of a fictional voice by Willa Cather in her novel "The Song of the Lark" seems to me to describe Patricia perfectly: "That's the high voice we dream of; so pure and yet so virile and human. That combination hardly ever happens with sopranos. There's the voice itself, so beautiful and individual, and then there's something else; the thing in it which responds to every shade of thought and feeling, spontaneously, almost unconsciously. That color has to be born in a singer, it can't be acquired; lots of beautiful voices haven't a vestige of it. It's almost like another gift--the rarest of all. The voice simply is the mind and is the heart. It can't go wrong in interpretation, because it has in it the thing that makes all interpretation. That's why you feel so sure of her. After you've listened to her for an hour or so, you aren't afraid of anything. All the little dreads you have with other artists vanish. You lean back and you say to yourself, 'No, THAT voice will never betray.'"
@@dragon-ed1hz Thank you for sharing this - yes, it describes PJ to a T! Let's pray it won't be too long before she can thrill us once again with her astounding talent.
I believe she could indeed have grown into one of the truly great voices of the century, but to be realistic, death took her before she could realise anything close to her full potential. There are many great sopranos and many, many, beautiful women, some of whom are also gifted singers like her. And others who, like her, faced terminal illness bravely and without self pity. So why did I - and it seems, hundreds of other grown men and women who had never even met her - weep helplessly on hearing the news of her passing? And weep again on watching tributes to her?
The young lady has the world at her feet. Gifted with a truly beautiful voice. Shows an on-stage confidence resulting from hours of practice and work. And the staggering aspect is she is not yet 18 years of age.
+Mike McInerney Yes- Great to see a young singer who is willing to polish her amazing natural talent with training and study and not just think staying static is "good enough". Her stage presence is as good as her singing- subtle and yet gets the nuance of this character portrayed beautifully.
I’ve commented on this video previously but had to take a moment to so again- I previously listened to this on my phone and iPad and it is fantastic; yesterday I listened to this on high quality headphones and her singing is just absolutely stunning.
Patricia Janečkova is stunningly beautiful !! Her voice has a lovely timbre, phrasing and feeling. I’ve found her performance of this youthful-flirty aria of Musette, to be one of the best interpretations. If you haven’t seen her perform Offenbach’s “Les oiseaux dano la charmille, the Tales of Hoffmann, please watch it on RUclips, she absolutely owns that performance!!! No one can match her in it’s darling wit and doll charm!!!!!
There are at least four videos on RUclips in which she performs the ‘doll aria’, but I think the best one comes from this same New Year’s concert from Ostrava, when she was not quite 18. Utterly Brilliant, rounded off by that little wave to the audience as her ‘inventor’ carries her off the stage. From the same concert, make sure you view and hear, Adele’s laughing song (Mein Herr Marquis) from Die Fledermaus, along with voices of Spring and the finale, Lehar’s ‘Meine Lippen’ in which she also struts and dances through the audience. She was on fire that night. Two of those performances have been reviewed (glowingly) on You Tube by William, the Bangkok Voice Coach, as tributes to Patricia. Worth watching. “This girl had everything” he says, “She was so beautiful, so musical, so intelligent, hard working, modest and fearless in front of an audience, even when singing the most difficult arias”. So true.
I've heard this before and many many times over the decades - this is the 1st time that I've been spellbound from the 1st note to the last - she has a glorious voice

For my entire youth, up until I was 45, I loved classical music, opera, and so many other genres of good music. I could listen to a piece of music on the radio and not only tell you what it was and who wrote it, I could tell you the orchestra and conductor too. Then I went into a deep depression when I lost the love of my life and it hasn't been until this past year that my interest has grown again because of hearing wonderful artists like Patricia JANEČKOVÁ, Mojca Erdmann, and Marianne Crebassa. Thank you Patricia for helping so much to bring music back into my life! Bless you!
To lose someone we loved so much brings pain beyond belief, there are no words to ease our pain our sadness and our grief, we feel we've lost someone so close so wonderful and dear, we think about your beautiful voice and wish that you were near. But although you have left this world you'll stay within our heart, guiding like an angel even though we are apart. For love is everlasting and so are our memories, your legacy that's always there to light the way for us.❤❤
Patricia, Absolutely beautiful!!! You are a gift, to all of us your fans, from God's Heaven. God Bless you Patricia, God Bless your beautiful voice, God Bless your family and God Bless your Country. Every time you sing, with your beautiful voice, you make me weep. Thank you so much for enriching my life.

no matter what language they write in, all of us who have seen and heard Patricia, are in love with her ♥♥♥
this is the concert that should be put out as a cd/dvd world wide.
The voice is young but so beautiful! Une carrière à suivre... vers les plus hauts sommets! Bravo!
I'm on my 3rd video of her performances and i'm HOOKED! How could I have been going without this!?
Had a really beautiful dream last night, The National Art Centre of Ottawa started their 2021 live performances series with 5 straight nights featuring Patricia and i was front and centre every night. But that could never be enough!
sure you did

Well I usually have a front row seat when Patricia performs but I only have to travel from the UK :-)
Patricia, not only are you a feminine beauty of heart-wrenching allure, you have a bel canto, lyrical, coloratura voice that is breathtaking! ❤️ Your theatrical abilities are lovely and appreciated, genuine and sweet !!
Começo a ouvir a Patricia e perco a noção do tempo!
Astonishing her voice so clear and strong. It looks like singing without effort just speaking. Incredible talent, for my opinion the Pavarotti in female for our generation.
Chapeau Patricia
Yes - probably the most beautiful new female voice I've heard in 40-odd years of listening to opera. Quite remarkable, is she not?
@@Glasguensis indeed, im so impressed from her and she is so young.
I totally agree. When will she be given this lead role?
@@Glasguensis She needs to be given lead roles. Why is it not happening?
@@trudidixon1995 As I understand it, she's still completing her studies - a Masters in vocal studies at Ostrava University.
Quando men vo soletta per la via,
La gente sosta e mira
E la bellezza mia tutta ricerca in me
Da capo a pie'
Ed assaporo allor la bramosia
Sottil, che da gli occhi traspira
E dai palesi vezzi intender sa
Alle occulte beltà
Così l'effluvio del desìo tutta m'aggira,
Felice mi fa
E tu che sai, che memori e ti struggi
Da me tanto rifuggi
So ben
👍
June 18th, 2019... VERY Happy, Happy Twenty-First Birthday, Patricia!
You have many admirers and loyal listeners around this planet to whom you have brought beautiful music, the beautiful sound of your voice, and your beautiful personality.
Děkuji, a mnoho lásky z Havaje... 💖💖🌴🌴
Such a pleasure to listen and watch Patricia perform thank you for posting.
For love is everlasting and so are our memories, your legacy that's always there to light the way for us.❤❤
if you want something to remember patricia by, this concert displays her at her most confident & precocious!!!
The more I listen to Patricia, the more I am gaining the impression that she is THE BEST. Moreover, there is a jubilance in her voice which is strictly Patricia.
So elegantly performed
Simply wonderful... she looks so spontaneous and smiles while singing, having masterising her vocal technique at a such high level... RIP Patricia, we miss you so much
Patricie je zpěvačka přinejmenším století s nádherným hlasem.
