    SONG: I Say a Little Prayer (Aretha Franklin cover)
    ARTIST: Lianne La Havas
    PERFORMANCE: live @ Studio Brussel (Belgium, October 17th 2016)
    WRITERS: Music by Burt Bacharach / Lyrics by Hal David (1967)
    INSTRUMENTS:
    - ELECTRIC GUITAR: Lianne La Havas
    This song is a cover of the classic pop hit composed by the songwriting duo, Burt Bacharach & Hal David. It was first released as a single by Dianne Warwick in 1967. However, the following year, Aretha Franklin released her version, which became an even bigger hit that secured the song a place in pop music history. This version by Lianne La Havas is clearly inspired mainly by the Aretha Franklin version, judging by the choice of vocal phrasings and guitar chords. As always, Lianne La Havas does a fantastic job!

    what means (0) in the tabs?

    • @PlayLikeTheGreatscom
      @PlayLikeTheGreatscom  4 года назад

      Good question - because there are 3 answers to that, now that I think about it! :O
      1) see e.g. bars 2, 3, 4: The (7)s simply mean that the note is tied.
      2) see e.g. bars 9, 10: The (0)s mean that the notes played are not part of the chord, but just played because they are part of the picking patterns, while she happens to lift her fingers from the fretboard when changing chords.
      3) see e.g. bar 12: The (7) mean that the note is fretted but not actually picked at any point during this chord. Therefore, it will technically speaking ring in sympathy with the other notes and add a bit to the sound.
      I hope that made sense :D
