You made me feel like I just turned on my ps2 and I’m getting ready to play the best game ever all over again. This made me feel beautiful inside. Thank you 🙏🏾
I am also 33 and final fantasy music brings such mad emotions to my heart, I still cry to Areith theme to this day whenever I heard. I remember being a kid to this game and when I knew it was coming out and it was the first ever fully voiced final fantasy i was so hyped I ran home everyday to play it
This song reminds me of my cousin... He played all the final fantasy titles. Shortly after he passed away and every time I listen to this song I feel bad because it reminds me of him.
I know the meaning of this song - truly one of the best emotionally and I would like to send you and your family nothing but the best os love and good fortune brother. RIP.
Same here man. I had an older cousin that was like a big brother. A huge part of my childhood was influenced by him with regards to gaming, anime, movies, and much more, although I really didn't fully realize it until he was gone. Both him and his younger brother died from covid in 2020. They were only in their mid 40s. I think for the rest of my life I'll think of them whenever the old games and anime experiences I shared with them come up. Things have hit differently and will continue to do so, To Zanarkand and FFX as a whole included. To our cousins. May we see them again in the next life.
One of my band directors played this in class the other day. It was really pretty, I didn’t know he played piano so well. He shared with us a deep meaning this song had to him.
Idk if old times are better than now, but when i played this game when i was a kid and listened to this song... yeah, it feels like that past moment, that "old" moment... was just perfect. Beautiful interpretation, thank you, i really mean it.
listening to this piece always gets me...reminding me of the greatest journey I have ever been on...when the game brought me on an emotional adventure😌
I’m surprised by this game playing for the first time this year. This theme really does capture Tidus through the game and who he is. A bright soul having to deal wit a lot of pain over his dad and losing his home. This theme hits so hard when you finally get to Zanarkand and realize that Tidus is back home but not like the one he recognizes at all where instead it’s ruins
I just want to share I remember hearing this song when I was 6 years old back in 2001 and I never forgot it. For years it never left me until one day, on my 21st birthday, I decided to go out and buy a weighted keyboard and this was the first song I learned. Complicated but worth it. Music is the closest thing to magic in this world. Like a universal language we can all experience and feel in a moment together. This song will always have a special place in my heart. Thanks for sharing.
This composition for me was the best among all the FF franchises that hit hard on the emotional. One day I was a kid who wanted to save the world and cried hard at the end of this FF X. Still remember: Farewell Yuna...
2yrs later and you're still captivating everyone. A master at his craft, a diamond in the rough. A lonely bard singing his forgotten tune, you sir are a LEGEND.
Been meaning to learn how to play piano. Revisiting this song made me realize how much I really want to learn now. So I can play the music like this that evokes such fond memories like others have shared about their play through of the game.
This video popped up for whatever reason, amazing! Me and my cousin would play games on the ps2 together all the time, we shared a room in high school and we each had our own ps2 and would play the same final fantasy game to see who could beat it the fastest! and we'd just watch one another play too, I miss her so much.
Thank you for this, such a beautiful song, for such a beautiful and amazing game. I use to play this with my grandfather, and we both loved it. At the time, long ago neither got to finish it, I was too young to figure it out, and his save corrupted. He passed away and never got to finish it, so I did and I think of him everytime playing it. It's my favourite game with some of my best memories, truly appreciate this piece and you.
This is still the very reason I need a piano. Piano is one instrument that plays beauty from the heart and it's felt in every single note. Never can afford one..... my heart will win one day
This theme perfectly complemented the underlying melancholy of FFX. Whenever it was played, it served as a gentle reminder that, no matter how many levels or skills your party acquired, the ending would ultimately be a tragic one. Thank you for your excellent rendition.
Incredible work. One of my favourite pieces of music ever written, and you performed a brilliant interpretation of it. I ain't good with variety in terms of describing good music, but I love this ^_^
De tempos em tempos eu volto para este vídeo. É interessante ver como uma obra de arte como FF X pode impactar a vida de uma pessoa. Jamais me esquecerei da sua história Tidus (e toda a equipe), vocês estão para sempre guardados no meu coração.
My dad always enjoyed music. My sister got a ps2 and ffx and he really enjoyed its music. I often remember hearing him play this on his keyboard in his studio. He hasnt really been all there since a few years ago but just the other day i heard him listening to this again. Inreally want to get him back to where he can play music and enjoy his hobbies again
I started learning the piano last year. I've always loved this piece from FFX, but your video inspired me to get the FFX Piano Collection and learn this song. I can only play the first six measures right now, but working on it!
for many people dragon ball or pokemon was their gateway drug to anime. this song right here was mine. and 6 years into my journey of learning this insane song im still not even half way through the 1st bridge. its one thing to appreciate this from an audience perspective its another to learn to play it. also for anyone who wants to learn it its a great song for the whole process as it teaches many many things in relative progression from chord structure to chord progression
First music I actually learned from scratch on the piano. I've always struggled with reading sheet music, so learning how to play this was a huge accomplishment that I'm still proud of even though I forgot how to play it lol
This is peak Final Fantasy music. I remember firing this up and just forgetting everything else, instantly wanting to know more about this world. Such a great game.
Final Fantasy VI and VII are still my favorites, but X is another beast entirely. This music gives me the chills everytime, and a feeling of nostalgia or longing for something I never lived or had
This was brilliant! I don't know anything about playing piano, but to me 2:10 truly shows your skills. I think many skips that part. Thanks for amazing play. ^^
I love piano it's my favourite instrument, not learning to play it is the only regret I have in life. I don't know how to explain it really but it's such a simple (I'm no expert so if I'm wrong please excuse me) and beautiful piece of music that it touches me deep in my soul. I can listen to this on repeat and I'll never get bored of it, its been played by an entire orchestra but nothing compares to it being played solely on the piano. I'm gonna have this played at my funeral
And here I am, a 33 year old guy crying my guts out because of all the hours and hours of fond memories playing this game and all the other final final fantasies. Thanks❤
You know. I love how this song could have different meanings for each person. For me: it represents all the loved ones that never got to see what I prosper. That’ll never meet my son. That’ll never got to see what I did with my life. To me that’s my Zanarkand and I wish I could show them.
Since the moment that I heard Marcus Veltri played this version, I knew there should be a cover, and finally, I found it. Thank you so much, this is so beautiful!
the tempo is just a slight bit faster in this cover compared to the original but you have brought a tear to my eye this eve. Absolutely beautiful cover.
Bravo! I am overdosing on this tune. Frank Tedesco played this on his stream the other night. I don't think I ever heard this before. What a gorgeous melody and you played it so well. Thank you for sharing!
I'm struggling so much with the bass/left hand portion shown here starting at 2:10. I found your video while looking for help choosing the correct fingerling and such. Amazing stuff! I feel I've been making no progress with speeding it up. I watch yours at .25 speed, and that's probably a bit faster than my current. All I can do is practice, practice... Great work!
I believe the version of the sheet I have doesn't have the higher notes at 2:17... Maybe a slightly difference arrangement. Could it be? But honestly I love your interpretation of the song. You add a lot of colors with the p vs f and some nice rubatos.
@@ronaldau4357 Thank you! Yes, I took a few liberties with that last arpeggio that aren't exactly the same in the sheet, but I think that's the only place.
Started piano 3 months ago and finally just learned this song. The long arpeggio part is quite slow compared to you but I'm really happy to get the rest at a reasonable state haha. Thanks for showing me your fingering on the video, helped a lot as a beginner. I really love this song. If I ever feel down I know I can always pull this off and it keeps me at peace.
Listen to my story. This may be our last chance.
Incredible and amazing! Thank you sharing with us!
💜💜💜
This comment got me good!
Hearing any song from the final fantasy series makes me cry inside.
Me too...
You made me feel like I just turned on my ps2 and I’m getting ready to play the best game ever all over again. This made me feel beautiful inside. Thank you 🙏🏾
Best game ever made !!!
I absolutely feel the same
Just imagine a FF 7 like remake from the ground up, that thought alone 🥺 i would take sabbatical for that lol
Facts
Until you're dodging lightning strikes in the fucking desert. 😂
This is without a doubt one of the most beautiful songs ever written.
It's so sad. I can still hear it. "Listen to my story"
Via Purifico (also from FFX) said hold my beer! Seriously one of the best games of my life!!
Yeah, Beethoven would be impressed with this
Yeah one of my fav I made an acoustic guitar cover of this song with guitar tabs on my channel :)
33 year old man now, but the music of this game and Kingdom Hearts holds a special place in my heart
Yup
This theme still brings a tear to my eyes, two decades removed...
I am also 33 and final fantasy music brings such mad emotions to my heart, I still cry to Areith theme to this day whenever I heard. Same ill be 34 in June and FF music will always hold a special place especially FF8, 9 and 10.
31 and exactly the same my friend.
This song reminds me of my cousin... He played all the final fantasy titles. Shortly after he passed away and every time I listen to this song I feel bad because it reminds me of him.
I love this. I think we would have gotten along really well! So sorry for you loss. Thank you for watching!
I know the meaning of this song - truly one of the best emotionally and I would like to send you and your family nothing but the best os love and good fortune brother. RIP.
Whenever I die, I'm gonna have this played at my funeral
Sorry for your loss

I practiced for a year to play this song like you do. It's the only song I really know. Thanks for being a great teacher!
Congratulations on your progress, absolutely love to hear that!

it's been more than 20 years since I first listened to this, however, this masterpiece still brings me to tears. Great cover.

Goosebumps. I remember thinking about this song looking at the milky way galaxy on a perfect night with my friends.
This piece always bring me to tears.
Such a tragic story captivated in a perfect piece.
I'm loving the dynamics in this rendition.

@@pauliano You're welcome. You deserve it. Keep such a GEM alive.
It's been 22 years... but I've never forgotten this wonderful story, the music and all the characters, it's like I played it yesterday
Absolute masterpiece of a tune and done justice by this person! Top banana.
Loved it. Thank you Paul.
Cool to see one of my CBT nuggets trainers here watching a piano vid I’m interested in lol
This is one of the most beautiful things I’ve heard in a long time.
Thank you so much for making me feel the emotions I had when I first heard this song. It's truly touching. nostalgic, heart-wrenching, and beautiful.
I feel like crying every time I hear this ballad. I'm a 40 year old man.
Been meaning to learn how to play piano. Revisiting this song made me realize how much I really want to learn now. So I can play the music like this that evokes such fond memories like others have shared about their play through of the game.
This specific rendition is very special to me. I try to learn it on piano by just watching but i just listen to it all the time. Bravo my man.
I am going to learn this beauty
The colors came together beautifully. The sound is gorgeous. I really felt the emotion in this piece. Absolutely stunning.

What a beautiful piece of art you made, well done!
I don't know what brought me back here the song just popped up in my head at work song is so beautiful 🥲
Such a beautiful piece. Very well done!
音の強弱で気持ちが大いに伝わってきて鳥肌がすごい
Right? The old final fantasy music was life changing.
This is beautiful....

I had this on my wedding, when my bride came in the door to this song, my life was complete.

And that killer guitar riff in the first Zanarkand cutscene...man, to go back!
Masterfully played. Lovely rubato. Probably one of the best pieces of music ever to accompany a video game.
Agree wholeheartedly.
I don't understand what I'm seeing with the lights and stuff but god damn, it's as pretty as the song. This is awesome.

Wonderful interpretation of the piece!! Beautiful dynamics, too - I easily fell in love with your playing!
Forget one of the best video game ballads, one of the best ever, period.
This is actually beautiful. I want to learn the piano, lately i've been inspired its such a beautiful instrument
I wholeheartedly agree; it's never a bad time to start!
love it. most underrated piano piece
Goosebumps! What a rendition!
Seen a lot of these, and everyone else kicks that low crescendo off one note early. Perfectly played 10/10
0,75 SPEED IS MORE RIGTH ON THIS SONG
