Thank you for asking how we are preparing for the holidays! I am almost done with all my gifts. I made several gifts and bought some depending on who I am giving to. I have six kids and four of them have significant others, then I have a three-year-old granddaughter, my mother, my sister, her husband and their son. I crocheted a basket, scarves, ear warmers, hand warmers, a purse, a cell phone clutch, card wallets, and I think that's it for handmade gifts. I'm making the last card wallet while I watch this video. I still have to put up my tree. I have to wrap all my gifts and buy a few small food items to go with a few of my gifts. I love watching your channel Kayla. You inspire me to keep a positive attitude no matter what!

Hi Kayla. Im in Wisconsin where it is 15 degrees tonight. I am currently working on putting granny squares together. My client who is blind found her grandma's box of granny squares recently and asked if I could make something out of them. I know this time of year she really misses her grandma so I will surprise her at Xmas. Thankyou for raising your boys to be wonderful caring men. Take care.

Dakota has obviously really thought about this project for you! Each color (so far) has looked really nice next to the previous color! Plus, the addition of a little gift each day is really very thoughtful of your darling Son!!
This year I have (and am) making a few gifts. All the gifts that I needed to ship, and bought, wrapped, and shipped. I'm pretty sure that most, if not all the things I shipped have reached their destination. The last 2 years, I've been sending my gifts as early as possible. The year before last, I shipped everything out the 1st week in Dec, and nothing got to their destination prior to Christmas Eve!! It really bummed me out, so as long as it reaches them extra early, that's good for me!!
The last few years I've been doing my Christmas shopping all through the year. It makes it easier on the November and December budgets! I do still have 2 orders that I'm waiting to arrive. Hopefully all my local gifts will be done and ready in enough time to get to my local friends and family!
It's been very rainy this last few days. Yesterday was kind of warmer (I think the high was 61°F), but today was cooler again (in the 40s again).
I've been very much enjoying watching you crochet once again! I've been doing my crochet projects right along with you!!

Dakota is doing a really good job in choosing a different color for each day so far. I love how skilfully you move the thread and pin in sync to make your stitches. I am really happy to see how well you are doing.

I shop all year round for gifts and put them in a tote. That way if I need a gift for a special occasion I go to the tote and find something. If I purchase a Christmas gift for my family I usually find some kind of gag gift and something from that tote.

It is wonderful to see you crocheting again. Your son is wonderful to put your packages together, I bet he had a great time putting them together. I am making a small afghan for the nursing home. I would love your weather here. It is freezing cold here and it's windy. I believe it is around 34. No snow, which is good. So far we have been lucky.

I'm so sorry you're dealing with nausea today. That's an awful feeling. Love how the colors are coming together for your wrap! I have purchased toys for my three grandchildren. The older two tell me what they want now, and my daughter helps me choose something for the youngest. One of my grandkids has a birthday soon after Christmas, so I've purchased her birthday gift too. I realize we need to go pick out some toys to donate to Toys for Tots. My husband served in the USMC, so we always donate at Christmas. We give our daughter and son-in-law money. We don't normally buy gifts for each other, but sometimes we'll splurge on something fun. I like toys and dolls too, Kayla. I've been tempted to start collecting Calico Critters myself. I've given them to one of my granddaughters, and they're so cute! Hope you're feeling better tomorrow! ❤️

Fighting nausea while fighting leukemia smoking small amounts of marijuana helped greatly.
She was not a marijuana user before. She did try Marinol = Too Strong & Long Lasting for her.
Just offering this info with Hope of you feeling better.
By the way she is coming on 30 years "Leukemia Free" post transplant.

I so admire your determination! I'm an above knee amputee and I understand having to adapt to situations. You are an inspiration to all those who see you! God bless you Kayla!!

Hey Kayla, 🌹 We had some sprinkles of rain. It looks like this coming week there might be four days of rain. Today's high was 61° I'm NC. 🧶 I finished up my Christmas baubles. I only made six total. I'd like to make more next year for our Christmas tree. They can be addictive. I need more metallic yarns. Pretty. I'm trying to learn mini crochet stockings too. 😬 My husband wants me to make him a huge couch blanket. It would be about the size of a twin bed. I'm intimidated. Lol He wants tight stitches too. I've been putting it off. I wanted to do Christmas stuff now. ❤️ I'm starting to see new Valentine crochet projects on RUclips. Wow! Lol. Stay creative! Hugs. Prayers. 💞🙏

We have 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren so I made the younger kids an amigurumi. I started in July.
I'm amazed that you're already crocheting, but tying knots? You're incredible. Oh, and the shawl is looking good. I love samplers. They have so much textural interest.

I think your wrap is going to be beautiful. Like the coat of many colors in the Bible. I have one blanket just about done and I'm working on a second one now. I still have the face to put on a Charlie Colorform doll for my grandson and that will be done. My daughter took me to a Christmas parade in the town square this evening and I met her mother in law. I had a wonderful time. I'm done Christmas shopping and just need to finish 2 blankets lol I think I can get it all done but you never know. I love your shirt today by the way. I crocheted two navy scarves, a pig, square bee, and a fun potato for the grandkids for Christmas. A headband and fingerless gloves aren't done yet. I'm 70 and just started crocheting a year and a half ago so somewhat of a newbie here. Love the granny stitch. I can do continuous granny squares but I've been in the mood to do the kind you're doing. No time like the present. 😊

I'm so glad to see you crocheting now again. It has snowed here off and on with sunny times in-between. We had a high of 36° today with night time lows in the 20°s. I love the kitten triplets to help complete the kitty family. Have fun with the crochet projects.
Dakota has done an amazing job with the gift bags for you. So glad to see you crocheting. My husband turns 76 on the 28th. He's getting drawing supplies for Christmas and some Chet Atkins records he doesn't have for his birthday.

Its nice your son did that project for you and yes, its good to get you back in the habit of crocheting and relearning the new way of doing it. You are getting lots of wonderful practice by doing all the different stitches.
I live in Spring, Texas, just north of Houston. We are having the same, warm and muggy weather you have with showers sprinkled in.
As for holiday traditions and plans, theres not much really. I live with my god sister and her family. They have a huge 10 ft tree in the main room. I have a little 6 ft skinny tree just outside my bedroom. My bedroom is just off the foyer so theres not a lot of room. My tree is about 12-15 in across at the widest part. It pre-lit with white lights.
I also have a 26 piece Nativity set that I hand painted more than 25 years ago. I also have what I call my Santa tree. Again, about 20 years ago, I did about 12 counted cross stitch Santas from different countries. Each 1 is in an oval frame and they are about 1-1/2 inches wide by about 3 inches tall. They hang from the curled branches of a wire Christmas tree. The tree is white and has a metal bird on top but I used air dry clay and transformed the plain white bird to a Cardinal. To me, Cardinals always remind me of Christmas.
Anyway, those are my Christmas plans.
I live in Owingsville Kentucky and it’s 30*s here rite now at 1:30 am. It’s going to get colder over night. I’m so excited to see you crochet!!!! 😊❤ you’re an amazing woman. God Bless you and Big Daddy!

I love just sitting down and doing projects with no plan. I call it freestyling lol. It’s so relaxing. I do whatever stitches that come to mind and it doesn’t matter how it turns out. I figure it can be scrappy or frogged.
Glad to see you are crocheting again but I knew you would figure out a way.

Loving how your wrap is going. Dakota did a great job picking the yarn. The surprise gifts are so sweet, I'm crocheting a Christmas Afghan for my Brother and machine embroidering some ornaments. I have my house decorated getting presents as we go. Mostly online. I'm not much for going to the stores and crowds. Just buying for the 5 youngest grandchildren and then the adults this year we are doing a gift exchange. It works. I love this scrap homemade ruana your making. You go LMKayla.

Hi Kayla, I'm so glad to see you're back to crocheting. It's cold here in Colorado. Working on a baby blanket for one that is still in the oven. My kids are all grown & we don't do big Christmas anymore. We buy stuff we need when we need it. Christmas is all about mostly food & enjoying each other's company.

I have made hats, scarves, ear warmers, boot cuffs, amigurumi characters, fingerless gloves, pillows, socks, booties, blankets and golf club covers, just to mention a few, lol. I am so looking forward to Christmas this year. Just found out on Thanksgiving Day we are expecting a new member of the family so I will be making baby hats, mittens, blankets and lovey's to match. I'm in Tasmania, which is a little island state of Australia, it's a balmy 66 degrees here tomorrow 😂 It sounds coolish, but the heat is more potent here because of our lack of pollution. We're already for Christmas, we're just going to have a nice, quiet family lunch. 💚
