Kayla I’ve taken naps like that. You wake up and someone must have stole your brain because you don’t know what decade it is much less what day it is.
I really dislike brainfog, but sometimes those naps are necessary....

It warms my heart when you make yourself giggle and when you are pleased with your artistic creations. We need to be easy on ourselves as our lives are not all roses. Having a caring community to help us cope with thorns is priceless. Thank you for being a kind soul. I am making handmade ornaments for a non traditional holiday tree. It is a lighted birch tree with white lights and the ornaments are bird themed.

I put up a tiny 10" tree on a mirror pond in the center of my kitchen table. I have done the flip hexie Christmas 🎄. It is a quilted tree. I put decorations on both sides of tiny hexies. Now I want to add beads and bells. I plan to hang it in a window so it can be seen inside and out. This is the First Christmas I have felt like decorating since my son passed away 8 years ago. Maybe utubers have helped me!!!

Hi Kayla! I believe doing that sampler ruana (roo on uh) is a perfect way to get your crojo back on track. We won't have a Christmas tree this year, my better half has been very ill since last January and as a result I had to sell our home because it was just too big for just me to keep up. I know it will be next year before I will buy a smaller house that I can keep up with. I do crochet ornaments for my granddaughters to put on their tree, one for each so when they are grown they will each have a set for their own tree. They love them and that is enough for me. 🤗💗

We put up our 2 year old revolving lighted Christmas tree on Thanksgiving day, it was so much fun. My sister gave me a very special ornament to add to our collection to honor the passing of my husband (January 2022). We really enjoyed the day. 💜🙏

My husband watches TV the same way. Which is why I watch in the bedroom. Good thing I really, really love him, lol.
HEY KAYLA, SOMEONE SUGGESTED WHEN I STARTED TO CROCHET, TO USE A JAR AND RECYCLE ALL MY YARN CLIPPINGS BY USING THEM AS STUFFING FOR SMALL STUFFED THINGS. IT WORKS AND IT KEEPS THEM OUT OF THE LAND FILLS. ESPECIALLY THE SYNTHETIC YARNS, IT WILL TAKE 10S of 1000s of years to break down. 🙏💞
Your project is coming along nicely. I live with my oldest daughter and her family and we put two 4 ft trees on each side of the fireplace. We have several cats so no big trees lol. The trees only have lights on them and the rest of the fireplace gets decorated and stockings hang from the mantel. It always looks so pretty. We also put a small tree on the buffet in the dining room. 💜🙏🏻

My birthday is the 12th & when I was a child, that is the day we put up our tree. This year is the first year I’ve put up a tree in 7 yrs. I have so much, I’m already dreading taking it down. I love my table decorations, especially my nativity.

I’ve been going through some health issues as well, which is why watching you has inspires me. You my dear are absolutely amazing 💞.
I have put 2 small trees, one I made, and the other has sea shells on that i made into tree ornaments. We live on Vancouver island surrounded by the sea. So its a little untraditional but it’s what I want 💞 I have 2 cats who thankfully don’t touch them. If there’s a way I could send pictures I would 💞

My son was born on the 19th of December. We didn’t put up the tree until the 20th for the same reason. This lasted until he discovered covering the house in Christmas lights (about 11 yrs old). This will be my first year without a tree. I am moving in January and decided to leave it packed.
I love that you had that kind of a deep nap, Kayla. Surgery takes a LOT out of you - especially when you are dealing with all of your health issues, so grab those naps as often as you need, please, and I’m so glad that you’re very smart in *not* pushing yourself!! It's so nice to have someone to cook for,even if they're making a lot of noise. Sometimes I don't feel like cooking just for me.
You know how much your fans care about you when you received all those straps for you to crochet again. Dakota did a good job combining the colors of yarn to make this project. I have a small 4 foot artificial tree with lights. I also have a foot live tree that I have to replant soon. I really don't feel like decorating for Christmas cause the holidays don't feel the same since my service dog passed away.
I have cousins that have holiday birthdays (December 24th & December 31st). They spend the morning celebrating their birthdays and the evenings are for the holidays.
We are waiting to get a live tree around the 10th. Our son will away so we are going to FaceTime so he can help us pick one out--ahhh family tradition, no way can we pick a tree without big brother. Love to you and our family!!!❤❤❤

We have 4 christmas trees up. My daughter and I have different ideas for trees, she likes the white tree and clear lights, me I like the traditional style. She has 2 down stairs and I have 2 upstairs. We take turns with the style every other years. She is all about blue, silver and white and I like colored lights one in out doors red truck and birds red green colors. I have a table top in my room with just blowen glass ornaments. She put them all up in one day. This year I was not so into it, but I just had a knee replacement, but I'm glad she did it. Makes my heart happy.
It will still be beautiful the way you are doing it. Great practice in development of strength etc.

Kayla, you are an awesome person! I really admire your perspective on life. I know exactly what you mean about not feeling you can do one thing extra. I have been there, too, many times. But, it is not the most important thing to have the trees up. To me, the most important part of Christmas is remembering and commemorating the real reason of Christmas -- the birth of Christ. :)

I haven't put up a Christmas tree in 7 years when my husband passed away. My kids are all grown now anyway. My oldest wants to put it up this year so will see. Your doing so great with your wrap.
Hi Kayla 🤗 We haven't put up our Christmas tree yet since I'm scheduled for surgery next week and will be away from home a couple of days. I love Christmas trees, but this year I'm just dreading 2 of my 3 cats who will likely destroy it, lol. One kitty leaves it alone...but the other 2 think it's fair game to climb in it and knock off the ornaments. 😂
Ski lifts or chair lifts is usually what we in snowy mountainous parts call those. 😊 That project is coming along great!
Your wrap is going to be so fun and such an accomplishment when you are done! I don't think I've put a tree up for about 15 years. Probably about the time my daughter moved out on her own. I do a small table top and a few decorations. Hubby does the outside- that's his favorite. I finally had him pull down all the ornaments (boxes and boxes of them) and I'm going through them with my daughter. She's keeping the really special ones - most are being packed up for Good Will. I've learned over the years to separate from overwhelming things- I suffer from depression. Even happy special times can be so overwhelming that I start to shut down and just can't do it. It's ok. I've just found my own way. When my daughter was little we were so busy - I also home schooled- and never gave myself a chance to stop no matter how I felt. Now I say NO. I'm sure you understand ❤🎄🎄🎄 didn't mean to carry on!!

Your coat of many colours wrap is going to be gorgeous. As for napping, one day this week I went into a deep sleep. When I woke it was dark. (Days are short here in the midwinter. Mornings are dark and evenings are dark at 4.30.)
I looked at the clock, it said 6.30. I honestly thought it was morning.
Got my breakfast ready and then looked at my phone to find it was only evening. Oops, breakfast for dinner. I really laughed at myself. But as I have trouble sleeping those hours of rest were good for my painful joints.
Not sure what they did for my brain?????🤔.

I haven't put up my tree yet, as for the last two days I have been decorating the ones we have in the entrances to our building. Need a rest before I do my own. No excuse really as it is only 4ft tall. The weekend sounds good.

I have a small tree on my nightstand. I have it up with a few ornaments on it. I haven’t put my big tree up in 10 years. Which is sad.

Kayla, I love you! Since John died last summer, we can not decide if we want a tree. We(my daughter and I) put up three, last year, a pink one, a white one, and a black one. Neighbors said it reminded them of Dollywood! How wonderful, because my late husband loved to take the family to Dollywood! Traditionally, we put up a 9’ tree in the main room, several 6-7 foot trees throughout the house. Then a sweet 6’, in our foyer. Initially, I said no trees, this year. but as I go about my days, and see other decorations, I am leaning towards, the small 6 foot, we had in the foyer. It is a dark green artificial pine, John has it pre lit, and it has its own box of ornaments. John donated our huge 9’ tree, a couple years before his death. It became too much for him to assemble, light, and help decorate. I totally appreciate your thoughts and feelings about waiting for after, your son’s Birthday to start decorating for Christmas.

I'm really excited, this year we are getting a real tree again! The last 2 years we put up a little fake tree, but I really prefer a real tree! So I'm extra excited to put up a real tree, even though the tree we got this year is a really small tree (about 3' tall -- in the past when we got a real tree, we totally rearranged the living room, and got a tall 7 or 8' tree!), and the type of tree we got isn't the kind I like best, but I'm just pleased to have a real tree again! [The price of these trees are getting absolutely ridiculous!!] I have a bunch of beautiful ornaments that my Dear Grandmother made, and they work great on the bigger real tree, but I'm not sure they are going to work on this small tree! I may just make them work!! We purchased the tree today. My Husband has put the tree in water, so we haven't put it up today, and I'm not positive when we will put it up, but I expect it will be very soon!!

I took a nap like that a couple of days ago. I woke up and said to my two grown sons,"O my gosh,you're going to be late for work!" They leave at 6am and it's dark out then. Well when I woke up from my nap it was 7pm ish and it was dark out. I was so confused. I'm loving the purple next to the maroon and the maroon next to the gray.
I found your channel earlier and found it very interesting watching you figure out your crochet challenge. I am happy to see you have have found solutions that work for you. Yes, I have a Christmas tree up. Because I have a new dog my tree is only a 4ft tree setting on top of a small cabinet. It is lovely. I think I am over having big trees. Now days for me simpler is better.

We have a 6.5 foot artificial tree that someone left on the curb after cleaning out their storage locker the first year my husband and I moved in together. We really couldn't afford one real or fake and one day my husband spotted it on his way home from school and brought it home. It's our Christmas miracle tree🎄it's pre- lit and everything and it has been absolutely perfect size for our different homes over the years and it's not intimidating with our young children.
I have a 7’ tree that stays up all year round. My sisters birthday is also the 10th and she has that same rule in her house. My birthday is the 5th and I just love having my tree up

When it was time to take down my Christmas tree, I just didn’t want to take all the ornaments off, so I put an extra large black plastic bag from the bottom up, and one from the top down, taped them together with duc tape and VERY carefully pulled it into my front bedroom,and a few weeks ago pulled it back into my living room, all decorated 😊😊😊of course, my tree is only 51/2 feet tall

I love Christmas, I love all the lights and decorations that go along with it. We don't usually put a tree up unless the kids and grandkids are coming home. Which they live in different states so we don't see any of them often. My husband knows I love the lights and all and he decorates the outside every year for me. I know if I ask him to put the tree up, he would but I haven't been up to doing much lately. I still might have him do it, we'll see. ❤😘😊
We have a tree up because of my grandsons. I don't really care if we have one or not other than the boys still need one. The oldest put his Mammaw's tree and came home and put ours up lol Other than that and the stockings we don't have any other Christmas decorations. We have our hands full with the 4 year old this year because he's very interested in the tree. So far Dakota has picked out colors that are going nicely together. Seems like you really have great kids. I would love if one of mine thought of putting together a surprise project like your son did. I’ll bet that he will want that scrappy project left to him in your will. It’ll always be something special to him.
I usually put up a tree even though I don’t always feel like it. With my back and other issues it isn’t easy but it does help to get into the mood for all the festivities. And my daughter and her husband are coming home for Christmas this year so it would be nice for them to have it up.

It make me smile to see you do what u love and very good at it. Me and my mom and brothers always use to put up the Christmas tree the weekend of Thanksgiving and to this day I still honor that because that's how mom did it. And luckily my cats don't mess with it.
I have had naps where I wake up and can't figure out where I am or what planet I am on....oh wait, that is my daily struggle...😂. Not much of a Christmas here this year. I am petitioning the court for guardianship over my mom, who was always so independent and strong while growing up, but is completely unable to care for herself now. I can't even bring her home because needs 24 hour care and I'm not able to do it and don't have resources available for it. She's 85, blind, wheelchair bound and has dementia.....but still thinks nobody needs to take care of her 😔. Great thing Dakota did for his mom. His love for you is very evident.

Kayla I put up our tree last weekend. I put on purple bulbs because my mom loves purple. My mom and I live together. We help each other.
Hi Miss Kayla. Love hearing you talk about your life with your sons and husband. You asked if we are putting up Christmas trees. I usually put up a big fake tree, but this year, I just wasn’t feeling it. I told my husband that I wished we had a table top tree, so one evening he came home with one he purchased at Lowe’s. It’s not a pretty tree, but it holds our old, special ornaments that our girls made when they were in elementary school, and now we have some painted by our grandchildren. This tree will never win any prizes, but it holds some dear memories for us. That’s all I care about….😉. I’m enjoying your ruana journey!……..❤️Brenda

Hey Kayla, your project is coming along nicely, so happy to see you crocheting again. We usually set our Christmas tree up on December 5th, that is St. Nick Eve. The only thing I don't like about setting up our tree is the husband grumbling about fluffing out the branches. It's an artificial tree. And then we can't put the ornaments to low or our 13 year old cat will be knocking them off. Those ski lift benches are so cute.
I love what you are making Kayla 😊 I bought a new tree because I couldn't find my old one, then I found my old one so I let the kids decorate the old one with traditional colours, and I decorated the new one. The kids one looks way better hee hee although mine has the elf on a shelf that I crocheted when my teenager was little, on top instead of an angel. xxx

I'm still working on a blanket for one of my grandsons. He will probably get it for Christmas, but the other 2 are gonna have to wait for theirs! I know I couldn't get them both done by then, too! I don't know if I'm going to put up any tree this year. Maybe one of my little 2' ones that I can take to my room with me at night... I have 10 cats, so it would never survive out here overnight! We 'do' Christmas at my daughter's house, cuz it's big enough, so I really don't decorate here anymore. And it's fine with me. I don't care much about it since I lost my hubby a few years ago. It was his big thing, to decorate the whole house and outside!
Hi Kayla. I always take forever to put up my tree and decorate. I hopefully will at least get it out of the box and put lights on it this week. I love decorating but I get the holiday blues and Waller around. Silly me. Hopefully you will get your little decor set up behind you. It may bring a some holiday cheer to Big Daddy. Love your Dec project. Oh have you thought about maybe crocheting some sides on the wrap your wearing? My Grandma used to take sweatshirts and cut the up the front middle and crochet a border to make sweaters. They were cute.

I have a 3ft tree but i didn’t put it up last year an don’t plan on putting it up this year. When my kids were younger I use to buy a live tree. I always wanted one when I was younger but my Parents always said no we have a tree. So when my kids were little, we always had a live tree. I love the smell of them.

Kayla, I'm with you, if I didn't have my granddaughter living with me I wouldn't put up the tree. We have artificial Christmas 🎄 as I'm allergic to the real ones. Ours is 6 ft and has been up since Thanksgiving. Next year I want a smaller tree maybe 4ft. I had a nap today and they woke me up at 5 pm wanting dinner. Wasn't feeling well, our 10 yr old fixed pretzel with cheese sauce

Well, the last few years we have put up a little 4-1/2 foot white tree with pastel lights that we put on a round table in our living room. The problem is that if you put ornaments on it, the tree looks very dark. So, we just had a tree topper and put a few pastel items under the tree. I really wanted to get a new tree this year and bring out our old ornaments, but I don't think it's going to happen. Our youngest grandchild is three, and he's always messing with the ornaments on their tree. I don't want to have to correct him over and over when he visits. So, maybe a new tree next year. I must have seen your tree from two years ago if you didn't put a tree up last year. I remember thinking how beautiful your tree was! So, your wrap is called a ruana. I must be out of the loop as I'm not familiar with that name, but it is looking so nice. It's going to be so fun with all the different colors and stitches. I'll see you tomorrow!
Hi Kayla! We put up our Christmas Tree three days ago. It's an artificial tree that we've had for many years. We decorated the tree last year and left the ornaments on it. So, this year all we had to do was move it from the ADU into the parlor...LOL 🎄🎅❄️

Lovely scrappy wrap! I love watching you crochet with your strap. I also like that you can use the hook as a finger. My Christmas tree is up already. My granddaughter put it up for me. It's 4 feet tall. A little artificial one, pre-lit, with crocheted ornaments all on it.
