    Ruben, I messaged you a week or two ago. I was the guy who did tile but started doing carpet recently. When people ask how I’m learning, I always credit “Ruben with FBSB” you are an INCREDIBLE teacher.
    I have an intersecting hallway, both aprx 3 feet wide one run is 16 feet and the other is 12 feet. They intersect like a “T”. I have all my prep done. I have my carpet rough cut and in place, all squared up, seaming complete. I have studied all of your power stretching info. I’ve already stretched a bedroom so I’m familiar with my equipment. I’m just not certain if I should stretch the long run first or if I should follow any specific rules.
    Hope you’re having a great spring Sunday. Be well man.

      The top of the T should be stretched first then stretch the leg of the T away from the top of the T

    You would only need a 12x19. Then a fill piece for the large bed and next larger bed. You would need to fill roughly a 1 foot hole by 19ft long. There would be no hall seam or bedroom door seams. A 12x 4 would be suffient for the fill piece.

    I wouldn't have done the hallway so big though. Better to have the seams under the doors so that you can hide the transitions better

    Wow, Can I stay at the obvious? Why didn’t you leave the right side on the hallway and drop it into that room. You cut it off just seen it back on again.

    How do you make sure that the carpet is running the same direction?
    Is there a video that goes more in depth into the way carpet runs?

    • @FloorsbySouthernboys
      @FloorsbySouthernboys  Год назад

      I do not have a video for that but you can rub the carpet the length way and you will tell a difference in the way it feels and looks, when you rub the carpet and it looks lighter it is laying down when you rub back it will stand up and it will look like it is a darker color. It Hass to be rubbed the length of the carpet though not the 12 foot width way

      But how do I know which way I’d want the carpet to run?

    • @rubenbadillo5009
      @rubenbadillo5009 Год назад

      @@ulari4812 If you are new to this it's a little hard to figure it out at first but it's quite simple. Whichever way fits the project in a manner that seams are not in a bad spot, and the carpet is used to its fullest extent. On complex multi-room jobs like the one in this video, Reuben chose to throw the carpet lengthwise running down the hall, since this direction also allowed the smaller bedrooms to be cut in one piece that can reach the seam under the doors and leave a field piece big enough to fit the master. If your rooms are separated , you'd throw it whichever way fits each room individually. That is just the basics of it, as professionals will also take into account other factors to their own preference, and every project is different in ways that can't always be predicted.

    Absolute crap , facing as we do skirt off the main bed left wall then the waste from the cut for bed 1 will fit bed 2 and the waste by bed 2 will do the join so just need 6ft6x12ft to do bed 1 .
