Thanks for the comment Richard. Yeah we are very lucky to be able to share experiences like this. The controller didn't seem too happy and I was sure he said QFE (which the video confirmed to be correct), not sure why he was so abrupt but each to their own.
What a nice video, one of your best and with all the family on board. I loved the look on your son's face when you took off, scared but determined not to show it - priceless. And when you landed the look of relief was equally obvious. And your daugther was really into it all and clearly loved the experience. My wife often said it sounded like a foreign language when I spoke on the radio so I understand the comment 'are you speaking French daddy'.
Great to see you flying at Headcorn I see your plane there regularly (assume it’s a WAS aircraft?) and seeing x-ray echo in the background is always nice… love your videos keep them up and I may just say hi if I see you one day!
