One of the worst things about Fyre Festival was how they didn't pay the locals who worked for them, and left the same locals to try and placate the (understandably) angry and concerned guests. Just disgusting behaviour.

Yeah I hate people who are like “Oh loved it since a lot of rich influencers got scammed and had a somewhat bad time” and it’s like no innocent people got scammed including the locals and I believe one worker was sexually harassed it’s not oh “Eat the rich their festival sucked” it’s a huge scam that hurt lots of people. Even the influencer rich folks still didn’t deserve to be given such a shit show especially for what they paid.

Charlie got the ticket price wrong, as no one had ever been proven to have paid $25'000 for a ticket. It was spread by media and naturally hadn't been fact-checked.
The reason so many people got scammed is because the ticket prices were so cheap. Some people managed to only pay $500, and that's for two weeks in the Bahamas including room, food, music festivals and so on.
It had big names behind it, and the project didn't show any signs of being a scam right until people showed up and saw the tents.

What makes this case more hilarious and also sad, is that it wasn't a scam at all. He really believed he could do this dumpster fire of a festival and everyone who tried to tell them that they needed X amount of time and Y amount of money to make it happen was either fired for "being negative" or jumped ship when they saw which way this was going. He and his crew were told that they needed more time and money to organize a decent fest, he could've postponed but he was personally liable for several million dollar loans. 4. I mean, these are all good points. I just think the dude is a 100%, clear-cut sociopath. He can't process that people don't like or trust him....that's impossible in his mind. He really believes everyone else is the problem, not himself. He scores a 1400 on the douche scale and will likely never change. These are the type of dudes who end up murdering someone because they literally place no value on anyone's life but their own.
