    I must of watched all your videos now 😊 couple of questions how do you get your levels when your putting the stone down? Do you set a string line up then rake it about? Also do you need a fall on the drains you put in next to the house? Love the channel by the way your giving me courage to tackle this myself

    • @tidybrickslandscaping
      @tidybrickslandscaping  7 месяцев назад

      String lines for all pre base work for a general idea for sure and reguarding the drainage against the house are always level otherwise it would look weird but slightly different with a L shape as the tiles always have to have a fall 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 hope that helps

    Your a beast for doing all that work. Next time when you do the finger snap transition, you show the before, snap, then show the after.
    Btw, really beautiful work. This isn’t too common in the US. Everyone seems to put concrete pavers on a bed of sand (over hard pack) then use polymeric sand, which sucks imho.

    • @tidybrickslandscaping
      @tidybrickslandscaping  2 года назад

      Problem with sand under the pavers the ants can eat it away and water can wash it away. Stone dust already compacted is solid before laying and stronger anyways 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Any advise how to cut tiles I bought Rubi DV 200 1000 second hand.

    How do mate, I have been a brickie for nearly 30 years and done a load of flagging over the last 10 years, I went to quote my first ever Porceline flag job today. I know about painting the back with SBR and cement slurry, but I am curious if there is a common rule about bedding the flags with the slurry wet or dry? I see you are painting the backs of each and laying as you go, is that just your preference or a standard rule? Really enjoyable and fun to watch your quality workmanship. I have never been asked to do drystack walling, I now want a go even though I can see it being a ballache as your have shown. If you don't mind me offering a tip, but your tub of drystack primer in a gorilla tub, less chance of knocking it over, haha, fookign nightmare situation I would likely do, haha.

    • @tidybrickslandscaping
      @tidybrickslandscaping  Год назад +1

      He Chris good luck on your first porcelain patio and if you’ve done sandstone before you’ll find this stuff easier as it’s really flat and all tiles are the same size. As for the slurry primer yes it needs to be wet so it binds with the cement as one ! Sbr and cement is ok but I always prefer a proper slurry primer as sbr drys really quick 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

    Hi mate, me again lol. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and I hope you are having a well earned rest. Just a few more educational based questions: how did you get your levels going across diagonally for those slabs and border edges i.e. across towards the greenhouse? Were they all level with just a fall towards to the acos as you shown on your video or was there another slight fall? Correct me if I'm wrong buddy but from what I could pick up from your video I presumed you had a fall going down both acos into the two underground pipe soakaways and if so how did you get the slabs and edging in line with your acos? Were they following the fall of the acos if there was one? Again, beautiful work and keep up with the educational content! 😊

    • @tidybrickslandscaping
      @tidybrickslandscaping  11 месяцев назад +1

      Hello again and regarding the aco they were all laid level around the house and the tiles were laid directing water towards them. The water would never gather enough to overflow it would always find away to settle and find it’s own way out 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

    Can i ask...
    What mix do you use and how much water?
    Any sbr? If so how much?

    How long do you get out of a mix before its dead and need to make more?

    Great work with this one Scott (am watching the before video now, wrong order haha).
    Just wondering what you would do if someone (cough, me) dug and put soakaway crates down, landscape wrapped and covered with 150mm soil...and then decided that path would go over. Think I should move soakaway or can I lay paving over? Cheers, and get yourself one of those buy me a coffee things that others have got 👍

    • @tidybrickslandscaping
      @tidybrickslandscaping  2 года назад

      Hi Chris sorry for uploading them in the wrong order my fault.
      As for your predicament with the soakaway not a problem but you would have to remove the Earth and put some steel over the top and some concrete overlapping the sides and you’re good to go I’ve done it on driveways for cars to drive over before no worries

    Can the tiles be laid on top of the concrete without breaking it out and then do as you have with the sub base on the grass area and butt upto the concrete to increase the total area ?
