I am on a mission to get everyone to listen to their official video of O Come All Ye Faithful (which in choir we referred to Coma ye faithful!). They really 'woke' that one without making it unrecognizable. Dont miss their cover of Imagine. Not Christmas, but the message sure is in the spirit.
Pentatonix (five people) is named for the pentatonic (five note) scale that is commonly used in a lot of popular music. They've been together ten years but the core three singers have been together since high school and two have been singing together since children's musical theater at age 10. They are literally the world's best acapella group whose arrangements, videos, and performances have transformed people's idea of acapella. They added the beatboxer and the bass to the group two days before they auditioned for The Sing Off Season 3 (NBC) in 2011 and won the contest that year. And part of the magic is how much they just love each other!
There has only been one change in the group. Avi , bass singer quit on good terms because there was sickness in the family and wanted to be home. In 2017 Matt Salle replaced Avi. Kirstin and Mitch change hair color and style, but it is always them. They have no replacements.
It pleases me to no end to see “Virgin” Pentaholics being blown away by this wonderful group❣️ They do Christmas music like you’ve never heard it before! Check out their rendition of O Come All Ye Faithful. I have subscribed to see your reaction to more Pentatonix!
they sing all genres of music. they can rap; they can be soulful; they can rock. they do covers and they have original music. for christmas try mary did you know, dance of the sugar plum fairy, little drummer boy. otherwise try imagine, mad world, la la latch, cheerleader.
Dance Of The Sugar Plum Fairy won a Grammy for Pentatonix (PTX for short). It is a song written by a famous composer, Tchaikovsky in the 1800's. It was a hit as the famous 'Nutcracker Ballet' It has no lyrics, and PTX has no instruments This is raw talent! A must see!
Bohemian Rhapsody, Sound of Silence, Daft Punk, Mad World, Radioactive soany more! They do every style of music. There's also Naked and Break a little solo by the girl Kirstin, Beat boxer K.O. (Kevin Olusola) solo called Down and Renegade, Bass guy Avi has solo Change on the Rise...Although he left the group and replaced by Matt.
For Christmas try Pentatonix's Hallelujah or Mary Did You Know. They have an extensive range of Christmas songs. Hallelujah is brilliant and there is both an official video with over 600 million views and a live one in concert which might be even better than the official video. Pentatonix is based on Penta which means "five" and the Pentatonic music scale which is a Jazz scale of five notes. They literally have hundreds of tracks and have won 3 Grammies. They sing in most genres which their Grammies show 1) Daft Punk, 2) Dance Of The Sugarplum Fairy and 3) Joelene with Dolly Parton. I heard that was the only Grammy she won, but I have trouble believing that even though I am not into Country music. Finally, Pentatonix has been going for 10 years and in 2017 their bass Avi (guy with beard and deep voice) left. Later he was replaced with Matt who has a different style but is also excellent.
You HAVE to go down the Pentatonix (PTX) rabbit hole. “Mary Did You Know”, “The Prayer”, “Daft Punk”, “Bohemian Rhapsody”, “Hallelujah (over 600m views), “Sound of Silence”, “Sing”, “That’s Christmas to Me”and on and on. Also Home Free is another great acapella group. I get to see them (PTX) live on Dec 21st in Sugarland, TX.
Thank you for reacting to Pentatonix. Glad that you liked the video. They are amazing. They have around 13 Albums and EPs. 7 of which are Christmas. They have 2 original albums and also have original songs sprinkled among their other albums. In their 10-year history, there has only been 1 member change. The bass in this video, Avi, left in 2017. Matt became their bass late 2017. Mitch and Kirstie look different in most videos but it's always them. More Pentatonix please.
Kirstin is a mezzo-soprano, Mitch (first guy) is a high tenor, Scott (blond) is a baritone, but he can cover for the bass when the bass is singing. Scott can also cover the beatboxing when Kevin is singing. Kevin (beatboxer) his job is to keep the rhythm of the group, but there are songs where he sings in them (like Amazing Grace), Avi (guy with the hat) he is the bass, he is mostly the metronome of the group with the low notes.
Hallelujah, Sound of Silence, Bohemian Rhapsody, Amazing Grace, and Daft Punk are a few good choices to begin with. They have plenty to choose from. 10 years worth. Look forward to you both reacting to more Pentatonix 😊🤗
Attended their show in Texas last night. When you hear them in person, it’s a whole other level. They fill a stadium with their sound. 5 voices sounds like 50! They are magical.
Welcome down the rabbit hole! Pentatonix is celebrating 10 years together & their catalogue is wide &deep! They do Christmas like no other band having just released their 6th Christmas album! Saw them live 4 nights ago! Phenomenal!
This group is indeed "magical". They've won 3 Grammy awards. Please react to Hallelujah (the video has over 647 million views) or the live version which will provide you the proof in the pudding. ruclips.net/video/haFHrfmfHbc/видео.html Also, their second Grammy win is Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy (no words in this performance, it's from the Nutcracker and follows the Christmas theme) Each member is crazy talented and as you stated, very different. There is no "official" lead singer. They try to give each member a moment to shine in their performances. They do covers and originals. Stellar reaction. Love the expressions on new reactors faces when they first experience this group. Everything they do is elevated and made their own. They are super creative. I hope you will continue to take the journey down the PTX rabbit hole.
I'm SOOOO glad you guys are getting to PTX!! I had several of their songs lined up for suggestions on your last live stream, but I was unable to attend because I had to work early. They are amazeballs!!! I'm not particularly religious any more, but their versions of "Mary Did You Know" and Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" are incredibly moving. Welcome to the Pentaholics!! (that's what their fans are called. Lol) I have been following them since 2011 when they were on a contest show called The Sing Off. It is an amazing ride. Buckle up. 💞💕💖 Others to watch are their Daft Punk medley, Bohemian Rhapsody, Imagine (the John Lennon song), and Sound of Silence. If you want the full experience, check out their Sing Off performances too.
I remember singing this song in choir in high school. It is NOT an easy song to sing, I don't care what part you sing. This particular arrangement is complex beyond words. These guys are the real deal. You want to see them live, there are tons of live performances in YT by these guys. Check out their live version of Hallelujah from their Christmas special.
Their beatboxer is Kevin, the bass singer is Avi & together they are a phenomenal rhythm section. PTX is on a Christmas tour right now, maybe there coming to a city near you ! ❤😎👌
You have opened a very deep rabbit hole with Pentatonix of over 200 songs or videos both covers and originals to choose from. They have won 3 Grammy's, 19.4 subscribers and over 5 billion views on RUclips. Pentatonix name comes from the 5 note pentatonic music scale. Check out there Live Christmas Special of Hallelujah.
Pentatonix who came on the scene after winning a singing competition show 10 years ago, have gone on to record many albums, win Grammys, do their own Christmas TV shows (they do lots of Xmas music), and collaborate with top musicians, do world tours, etc. are very special and most of their songs are all priceless (many have 100s/10s of millions of views) - For this season, I'd like to suggest reacting to - "Mary Did You Know" - "Hallelujah" - and - "Imagine." - Thank you for a great first reaction to Pentatonix!
Hallelujah, Imagine, Bohemian Rhapsody, Sound of Silence, and Daft Punk are all next level! As for Christmas songs, The Prayer, Mary Did You Know, and Come all Ye Faithful are great.
Seen these guys live and they sound amazing. Hallelujah is probably their biggest song and one of their most recent, The Prayer is stunning. Very much enjoyed your reaction!
If you want variety, you should try PTXs 12 Days of Christmas! Seriously - they turn one of the most repetitive boring holiday songs into a whole new thing! 😉. And just to head off the question if you do - they did change one member in 2017 - the bass singer. Everyone else is from the original group of 5!
For Christmas O Come All Ye Faithful is amazing; for overall impact The Prayer; when you want something really different do "Daft Punk" a medley that PTX put together in their kitchen for $400 and won a Grammy.
I am giving you my sub with hopes that you do more Pentatonix! Christmas music? Try one of their newest covers The Prayer, it's Epic. They have so many different genre covers and they also have 2 albums of original music. Older but still being raved about is their cover of Can't Hold Us. ANY Pentatonix you pick will be super great. A note: The bass with the dark beard is no longer with them, he left back in 2017 and was replaced with another super great bass. Enjoy guys!! PS..also you might check out their Daf Punk Medley.
No instruments, it’s Kevin! Yes a cappella, Grammy winning! No Christmas is complete without Pentatonix, once you have heard them, you’re hooked! Dance Of The Sugar Plum Fairy, originally just instrumental , won them a Grammy! They are currently in concert. Hallelujah music video has over 600 million views, how Hallelujah live is beautiful!
I saw them live in 2018 they are amazing. They have been together for 10 years. The only change has been Avi the bass he left in 2017 and Matt their new bass now. And the main singer here is Mitch Grassi.
You may want to check out their versions of Oh Come All Ye Faithful and Silent Night. Pentatonix has a way of upgrading covers! In all the years that they have been together, there has only been one member change. The Bass, Avi, had to leave for personal reasons, and Matt, joined the group.
Please react to Pentatonix singing “The Prayer” Hallelujah, Bohemian Rapsody, Daft Punk, Be My Eyes, Amazing Grace, 90’s Dance Medley. Many many more great songs!!!
You need to listen to this song Live. They did a Christmas concert on TV called Christmas Under the Stars in 2021. Mitch is crazy good. I have seen them 2 times in concert. Yes, to answer the question "Do they make the sounds themselves"? The beatboxer will play the cello sometime. Also, beatbox at the same time. Scott (the blonde) will also play the piano on some songs. OMG... So many songs to choose from. They have many Christmas albums. They do covers and originals. Royals, No, Can You Fee the Love Tonight, Bohemian Rhapsody. Only 1 member change. Avi (bass) left in 2017 and Matt took his place as the new bass singer. Please start listening and reacting to them. You will not be disappointed... I have subscribed to your channel. I hope to see more PTX reactions. I promise, you will love them!!!!
They're touring right now! You'll find a live version of this one from their Christmas under the Stars special. They've been together 10 years so there is a ton of stuff you could react to. They had a member change in 2017 when their bass left the group (Avi) and Matt joined to replace him. The lady is Kirsten, beatboxer is Kevin, tall blond guy is Scott, and shorter dark haired guy is Mitch. Mitch and Kirsty are chameleons so look different in almost every video, but it's always them. Christmas stuff: O Come all ye Faithful, Silent Night (the live version), Mary, Did you Know?, 12 Days of Christmas, You're a mean one, Mr Grinch, and my personal favourite, God Rest ye Merry Gentlemen. Song covers: Mad World, Imagine, Sound of Silence, Say Something, Can't Hold Us. Original songs: Coffee in Bed, Love Again, Sing. But honestly, all their stuff is crazy good. Just go to their playlist and pick one at random! 😁
I found you with Dimash and now Pentatonix!!! Just great, O Come All Yea Faithful a definite best version ever!!!! Yea, so glad that you found them ❤️. Their backstory is so funny, walking through the woods with a generator getting lost and just stopping and doing this video by a waterfall.
Welcome to the rabbit hole of PTX...You will enjoy this rabbit hole so much; every one of these guys is excellent. PTX is the premier standard of Accapella groups. They became known by competing in the Sing OFF in 2011. I subscribed to your channel to watch you react to PTX. Can't wait to see more PTX reactions!
Grammy Award Winners, Pentatonix is named fot the 5 notes Pentatonic Scales. About 300 Million fans Worldwide. Named Pentaholics. Mitch, Scott & Kirstin have been singing together since Jr.High School Choir. They wanted to try out for "The Sing Off" together A Capella but they needed 5 people to compete. So they found the Beat Boxer Matt & the Bass Avi. The Won the competition & a recording contract. Since they have become the #1 A Capella Group in the World. You are about to journey into a "Magical Rabbit Hole.". They have covered everyone from Micheal Jackson to Lady GaGa & Rhianna etc.. But their Christmas Albums are Solid Gold. Evergreen is the latest & it's Beautiful. "The Prayer" Celine Dion & Andrea Botchelli is a must! "Bohemian Rhapsody" Queen. Anyway. I could go on & on because they really are fantastic! So welcome to the Pentatonix Family. 💖
Great reactions, and welcome to the wondrous rabbit hole which is Pentatonix (PTX for short)! Always fun to see new folks discover this amazing group. You are going to have quite an awesome journey ahead. You will be flooded by avid PTX fans (who call themselves Pentaholics) who love watching reactions. You will get many suggestions from their incredibly extensive 10 yearlong catalog of both covers and originals. Frankly, pick ANYTHING they do and you won’t be disappointed. A little background on PTX, of the five of them, three of them, the tall blonde guy, Scott Hoying (baritone), the young lady, Kirstin (or Kirstie) Maldonado (mezzo-soprano), and the guy with the dark hair and high voice, Mitch Grassi (counter-tenor), are originally from Arlington Texas and have known each other since childhood and sang together in high school. In 2011, NBC had a singing competition called “The Sing Off” where a-cappella groups competed against each other and one was eliminated each week. Scott wanted to compete, but they needed 5 people, so they met a fourth member, Avi Kaplan, a classically trained basso profondo singer, through a friend and he joined the group. Sadly, personal reasons caused him to amicably leave the group in 2017. There is a common misconception that Avi helped find his replacement, however that didn’t happen. A talent search was done and all the auditions were narrowed down to one, a talented lyric base singer, Matt Sallee, who is in the current group. That has been the only change in the lineup. You have begun by watching their earlier videos, as you get later into their career, you will barely recognize Mitch, he lost a lot of weight, and changes his look often, as does Kirstie. They discovered their fifth member, beatboxer/cellist/vocalist (tenor, yes, he does sing, and phenomenally) Kevin Olusola, on RUclips where he was “celloboxing” or beat boxing while playing the cello. Because of schedules, they didn’t meet until just a few days before the competition began, yet they went on to win the show. They won a recording contract as part of the show prize, but 2 weeks into it, the label dropped them feeling like an a-cappella group was not marketable. Refusing to be discouraged, PTX began a RUclips channel and from that channel garnered millions of world-wide fans, went on to world tours, put out multiple albums, including wildly successful Christmas albums, hit the #1 spot on the Billboard chart, almost always in the top ten, and have to date won 3 Grammy Awards. They do all their own beats. No instruments are used with the exception of several videos where Kevin plays the cello, Scott will play piano and some collaborations with violinist Lindsey Sterling. If an instrument is used, you will see it. They do not use multi-tracking for the most part, though their cover of “The Prayer” does, no auto-tune (except as a tribute to Cher in their 90’s Dance Medley) or any studio tricks. Everything they have on video, they perform exactly the same live. There is a sixth member who has been with the group behind the scenes from the beginning, he is Ben Bram, who works with them as a director, arranger and producer. All their Sing Off performances are on RUclips, watching them will give you their story, and show you how they have evolved into, IMO, the best a-cappella group in the world right now. Welcome to the PTX experience. Just FYI, SME is notorious for copyright strikes as they apparently don’t care about fair use. A good way to avoid this is to alter the video by use of a blur, or overlay or some type of opacity.
Also, after the Christmas stuff I always tell newbies to go back and review their "Sing Off" performances 1-12. It gives you the whole origin story and really introduces the members. Much love J.
Their version of "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" won them a Grammy, but they have a TON of Christmas songs. They have a very deep catalog of phenomenal covers like Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" that even got praise from Brian May, some rap and some medleys like their Grammy winning "Daft Punk" medley. Now that you're going down the a cappella rabbit hole, you should check out Home Free and Voiceplay. You won't have as many copyright issues with those groups.
Welcome to the Pentatonix Rabbit Hole. The Best Acapella Group in the World. imo. Please do more and the PTX fans will give you requests and their will sub to u for it. Enjoy the ride. They have so much to react too.
Oh boy do they have more Christmas songs!!!!!! Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, Mary Did You Know, Little Drummer Boy, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, Silent Night, Joy to the World, The First Noel, Angels We Have Heard On High, and their original That's Christmas To Me.......just to name a few.
There is actually a recent (like from Dec 5 this year) of them performing this at BYU and it’s amazing. You should really watch their whole BYU Christmas special, it’s available for free on BYU TV.
there is something about a first time reaction to pentatonix lol i love it you guys should react to their cover of hallelujah. there is a live performance they did for their christmas special. just so you can her them live :)
Saw them "live" last week. They are very real and even more impressive in person. Pentatonix never ceases to amaze. It's a slippery slope, start reacting to PTX, and the Pentaholics will sub! Happy listening.
You can watch Pentatonix do a live version of Carol of the Bells in "Christmas Under the Stars" which was released in December 2021. The original version which was released in November 2012 featured Avi Kaplan, the group’s original bass, who left the group amicably in 2017 and was replaced by Matt Sallee. Please pay attention to the fact that during his solos in both versions Mitch Grassi (high tenor) apparently does not need to breath!
There have been 2 times when I've seen a performance on TV and immediately called my friends to tell them about it. One was the first time I heard Kelly Clarkson on American Idol, and the second was the first time I saw Pentatonix on The Sing-Off. They are amazing!
ALL of their stuff is “the good shit”! You can’t go wrong with anything you pick. You have a lot to catch-up on and we Pentaholics will follow in droves. Just subbed for more PTX, keep ‘em coming!
I am here to see more Pentatonix reactions from you! Subscribed immediately and waiting for more pleaaase! You will be even more amazed after every song of them!
WELCOME! So glad to have you here! 🤗 We just released Mary, did you know? by them today & it got blocked for 2 days again unfortunately but look for it to just appear somewhere within that time frame, we’ve had others that said that then released it for viewing within 2 hrs then others the full 48 hrs but doesn’t notify anyone including us so just keep checking back lol we’re doing a Christmas themed giveaway live tomorrow night & we are starting with pentatonix then taking requests after! Hope to see you there! Much love!
@@TheNEWReel there's a way to get around that. You have to blur out the music video some or make it transparent or throw a logo over part of the video to prevent it from getting block. I also just subscribed to you guys to listen to more Pentatonix reactions
I always love it when someone gets Mitch-slapped for the first time. Still, that's the best description I've heard of Mitch so far: "Sounds like a damned angel"
There is an amazing live version of Hallelujah. Plus, a late night TV performances of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. All their videos are amazing. You will enjoy Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy the most.
There are soon many incredible songs done by Pentatonix. Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairys won them a grammy (one of three Grammys They have one). They literally changed the Grammy category because the Grammy was for best instrumental and PTX did it with all vocals. So the Grammy category was changed to instrumental/a Capella. Daft Punk (their first Grammy) Bohemian Rhaspody, Imagine, Gold, Havanna, Sound of Silence, Hallelujah, Can't Hold Us, Come Along. And on and on. These are just some of their deep body of work. They cross all genres. Right now for Christmas I am in love with their version of Grinch, The Prayer, Little Drummer Boy and Oh Come All Ye Faithful. And then there is Mad World, Someone That I Use To Know, Cheerleader, Thrift shop, Say Something, Shallow . . . ok I'll stop, just so much goodnrss! Welcome to the PTX rabbit hole 😊
You are heading down the very very very deep rabbit hole of PTX. YES 100% a cappella... I've been a Pentahloic for years, ever since they won the 3rd season of "Sing Off" in 2011. If you are staying in the holiday spirt, you should do "Mary Did You Know" and "The Little Drummer Boy" - and of course their grammy award winning "Hallelujah"
They are an awesome group. Their name, Pentatonix, is based on the word Pentatonic, which refers to a musical scale of 5 notes in order. If you find that you like Pentatonix, or PTX for short, there's another group like them called Home Free. They are mostly country, but they also do pop, ballads, oldies, and original music. They also have a deep bass, Tim Foust.
They are the only A Cappella group to ever earn a Grammy and they have 3! Only one change in 10 years. Avi, the Bass left in 2017 and was replaced by Matt Sales. Also a great bassist. I recommend their original Love again, and their cover of Macklemore and Ryan, ceiling can't hold us. Cannot say enough about their recent cover of The Prayer by Celine Dion and Andrea Bocheli! There are over 200 covers and originals. Welcome to the Pentatonix Rabbit hole!
They've been together 10 years and have 6-7 Christmas albums. So lots to choose from. Kevin has been accused of swallowing a drum set and is a classically trained cellist
If you want to hear a couple of their songs that are "a bit out of the mainstream", definitely check out "Come Along" by Cosmo Sheldrake. It's a really fun jam that can't help but put a smile on your face. And "Aha" by Imogen Heap... there's the "Official Video" version where they tell sort of a horror/zombie storyline to go along with the music. There is also a live concert performance of it (look up "Aha - at the Singapore Star Vista") Mitch (the high tenor in this one) is just on fire that night. They also have quite a few original songs. They recently released an all-originals album "The Lucky Ones" with a lot of good songs on it(some of my favorites are "Coffee in Bed", "Be my eyes", "Happy Now"). they released a mostly-originals album ("Pentatonix") back around 2015-16 with some really good ones ("Cracked", "Can't Sleep Love", "Water" are some of my favorites off that one). They also have a massive catalog of Christmas music (I think they've released 6 or 7 Christmas albums over the years). You can't miss with pretty much anything they do.
You should also check out the solo projects that the beatboxer, Kevin Ollusola, and the bass, Avi Kaplan have out. Kevin's plays Cello and beatboxes at the same time (called Cello boxing lol) and does an amazing cover of Down by Marion Hill, and Avi had an incredible video for his song Change on the Rise (an original). Very tribal song with kind of a "call to battle" sort of feeling.
They did this live in "Christmas Under the Stars" just this year. I'd never seen this one live (one of my faves), and they were amazing. They do have a new bass singer now, just an FYI. We finally saw them live this year. It was amazing. Better than I ever imagined.
I can't choose the Good shit - it is ALL good shit! I don't think they have ever done a bad song. I can only suggest that you get started by listening to a few of their all-time favourites and then just pick any one you like. Hallelujah (647 million views), Bohemian Rhapsody, Sound of Silence, Can You Feel the Love Tonight, Daft Punk, Amazing Grace. They bring out amazing Christmas albums nearly every year and some of their incredible Christmas songs are.... The Prayer, Frosty The Snowman, O Come all Ye Faithful, Mary Did You Know, The First Noel, Away in a Manger, etc.
Oh, also if you're wondering: from left to right: Scott Hoying: Baritone. Avi Kaplan: Bass. Was replaced with new black bass singer, Matt Sallee. Mitch Grassi: Countertenor. Kirstin Maldonado: Soprano. Kevin Olusola: Beatboxer.
If you want a live performance I’d suggest “pentatonix daft punk mix private performance” they’re in a room with no microphones so you can hear they’re the real deal!
Do they have more Christmas stuff you ask? PTX are the KINGS of Christmas! Wooo get ready for deep fall down the Pentatonix rabbit hole! Hold on tight. 😉
mwahhhhahahah. Welcome to the Pentaholic rabbit hole friends. Just a quick intro, combined they have over 5 BILLION views on You Tube. Live is the same magic and they have won 3 Grammys. I would highly recommend any of their Christmas songs as they own Christmas in my house. However, some highlights are Silent Night (live performance), O come all ye faithful, and That's Christmas to me ( original ). KO the beatboxer is an alien and his beatboxing is not only just like real drums but it is always musical and not just sounds. Much love and keep on keepin on. J.
Keep going with this group they are phenomenal. Take us pentaholics with you. Always love seeing a newbie discover this group. Any of the hundreds of suggestions will be great.
Everything Pentatonix does is excellent. They do lots of Christmas music. “That’s Christmas to me” and “Evergreen” are 2 of their original Christmas songs. I saw them live a few days ago and the were awesome.
Same!!
Same!!
Please do O come all ye faithful....You're not ready!
Pentatonix (five people) is named for the pentatonic (five note) scale that is commonly used in a lot of popular music. They've been together ten years but the core three singers have been together since high school and two have been singing together since children's musical theater at age 10.
O COME ALL YE FAITHFUL BY PENTATONOX.
It pleases me to no end to see “Virgin” Pentaholics being blown away by this wonderful group❣️ They do Christmas music like you’ve never heard it before! Check out their rendition of O Come All Ye Faithful. I have subscribed to see your reaction to more Pentatonix!
Same here! 💖
they sing all genres of music. they can rap; they can be soulful; they can rock. they do covers and they have original music. for christmas try mary did you know, dance of the sugar plum fairy, little drummer boy. otherwise try imagine, mad world, la la latch, cheerleader.
o come all ye faithful 🔥🙌🏻
Dance Of The Sugar Plum Fairy won a Grammy for Pentatonix (PTX for short). It is a song written by a famous composer, Tchaikovsky in the 1800's. It was a hit as the famous 'Nutcracker Ballet' It has no lyrics, and PTX has no instruments This is raw talent! A must see!
Pentatonix has a new Christmas cover, the Prayer, which is fantastic. But you cant go wrong with any Pentatonix.
That one broke my brain all over again when Mitch hits the descant on the bridge. 🤯
Scott covering I Should Tell Your Mama On Ya
Hallelujah live from Christmas special and now the new special in Byu tv
Thank you for reacting to Pentatonix. Glad that you liked the video. They are amazing. They have around 13 Albums and EPs. 7 of which are Christmas. They have 2 original albums and also have original songs sprinkled among their other albums. In their 10-year history, there has only been 1 member change. The bass in this video, Avi, left in 2017. Matt became their bass late 2017. Mitch and Kirstie look different in most videos but it's always them. More Pentatonix please.
Loved your reaction! Welcome to the Pentatonix rabbit hole. New sub here.
It's all A Cappella. They are the elite of a cappella. No one does it better. You will enjoy everything they do. They are creative and original.
Welcome to the Pentatonix family, you will love them! And we Pentaholics will watch!
Try Pentatonix cover of The Prayer, Little Drummer Boy, and many others. Thanks
Seeing them live is absolutely Bonkers!!! I was blessed to see them live. Of the 75+ concerts, amazing music all, but danggggg!!! I adore Pentatonix
And I miss Avi with them sooo very much! His solo stuff hasn’t hit my Soul the way Pentatonix with he did when with the group
Its hard to sing period.... I honestly have a hard time finding the breath spots in this arrangement lol its incredible
It was the most wonderful reaction I know! Real reactions and praise. This is a very satisfying impression for pentatonix fans.
Pentatonix who came on the scene after winning a singing competition show 10 years ago, have gone on to record many albums, win Grammys, do their own Christmas TV shows (they do lots of Xmas music), and collaborate with top musicians, do world tours, etc. are very special and most of their songs are all priceless (many have 100s/10s of millions of views)
- For this season, I'd like to suggest reacting to - "Mary Did You Know" - "Hallelujah" - and - "Imagine."
- Thank you for a great first reaction to Pentatonix!
Oh I forgot to say Kevin the beatboxer can beatbox while playing the cello (Celloboxing). And he speaks fluent Mandarin, graduated Yale premed...
Hallelujah, Imagine, Bohemian Rhapsody, Sound of Silence, and Daft Punk are all next level! As for Christmas songs, The Prayer, Mary Did You Know, and Come all Ye Faithful are great.
All of these!
Seen these guys live and they sound amazing. Hallelujah is probably their biggest song and one of their most recent, The Prayer is stunning. Very much enjoyed your reaction!
Pentatonix have 3 Grammies
1. Daft Punk
2. Dance of the Sugar Plum Ferries
3. Jolene featuring Dolly Parton
Welcome to the Pentatonix World! I been listening to this group for years. It was fun to watch you both.
I have seen this group live twice.......just as damn good in real time as on these videos.....they are f'ing incredible
Pentatonix is amazing!!! Looking forward to more Pentatonix reactions.
Coming soon!
A Cappella guys...therefore no instruments, just their voices. Simply spectacular what they can do.
It is SPECTACULAR isnt it! Thanks for watching! MUCH LOVE!
This is all them they are incredible 100% a Cappella
Please react to Pentatonix singing “The Prayer”
Hallelujah, Bohemian Rapsody, Daft Punk, Be My Eyes, Amazing Grace, 90’s Dance Medley.
Many many more great songs!!!
This is also known as the song 'when the hell does Mitch breathe' ❤
This is Pentatonix, people ! They basically own the "Christmas music" endustry 😂😂🤣
Hallelujah, daft punk, dance of sugar plum fairy, anything they do will not disappoint😊
Amazing song.
Amazing rendition.
Amazing God.
Amazing Grace.
They are the number one a cappella group in the world. Over the past 10 years they have won 3 grammy s
Welcome to pentatonix!! Yall have a lot to catching up to do!!!
Their version of Sound of Silence gave me goosebumps.
There is actually a recent (like from Dec 5 this year) of them performing this at BYU and it’s amazing. You should really watch their whole BYU Christmas special, it’s available for free on BYU TV.
Hallelujah!!! Yall will love it!!
there is something about a first time reaction to pentatonix lol i love it
you guys should react to their cover of hallelujah. there is a live performance they did for their christmas special. just so you can her them live :)
A G R E A T song to showcase their independent voices.....Halleluiah
ALL of their stuff is “the good shit”! You can’t go wrong with anything you pick. You have a lot to catch-up on and we Pentaholics will follow in droves. Just subbed for more PTX, keep ‘em coming!
I went to the Christmas concert Dec. 15th. It was wonderful. I want to make it a yearly tradition.
Their version of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen will blow your minds...
I always love it when someone gets Mitch-slapped for the first time. Still, that's the best description I've heard of Mitch so far: "Sounds like a damned angel"
lol Thank you so much for watching! lol MITCH SLAPPED love it!
There is an amazing live version of Hallelujah. Plus, a late night TV performances of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. All their videos are amazing. You will enjoy Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy the most.
The name PENTATONIX comes from the Pentatonic scale in music, A pentatonic scale is a musical scale with five notes per octave,
There are soon many incredible songs done by Pentatonix.
Welcome to Pentatonix!!!
Another Christmas carol PTX covers in a spectacular & original way is Silent Night.😍
More PTX!! More PTX!!! And throw in some Home Free and Voiceplay too!!!!!
You're just getting started!!! Everything they do is amazing! Just pick one, you want be disappointed, ever!
welcome to ptx family you have allot of catching up to do on ptx i love them so much they have won three grammys
This is a cappella. No instruments. Kevin is the beatboxer. That's the beat.
Oh, also if you're wondering:
from left to right:
Scott Hoying: Baritone.
Avi Kaplan: Bass. Was replaced with new black bass singer, Matt Sallee.
Mitch Grassi: Countertenor.
Kirstin Maldonado: Soprano.
Kevin Olusola: Beatboxer.
Their live videos are mind blowing. Watching music videos you have to keep telling yourself that they are the instruments but seeing it live is nuts
Grammy winning Dance of Sugarplum Fairies!
I have seen them live 3 times and I promise u there are no instruments….they have won multiple Grammies and platinum records. They r the real deal.
Keep going with this group they are phenomenal. Take us pentaholics with you. Always love seeing a newbie discover this group. Any of the hundreds of suggestions will be great.
Pick anything you want from them, it'll be alright.. however christmas music is their specialties.. one thing for sure, do more Pentatonix
Goosebumps on my soul I dig that!
Everything Pentatonix does is excellent. They do lots of Christmas music. “That’s Christmas to me” and “Evergreen” are 2 of their original Christmas songs. I saw them live a few days ago and the were awesome.
