  • I'm having a tough time keeping up. First we have a late substitution in the Douglas Luiz to Juventus deal, then we swap one youth player to Everton with another coming the other way, and just recently, a prototypical Unai Emery type left back joins us from Chelsea, after helping Dortmund to a Champions League final. PLUS...we're losing a very highly regarded youngster...and we're only a week into the window! Pete the Canadian Villa fanatic will take about fate, and how a legal clause has changed our holding midfield role, while looking into this weeks ins and outs. Pour yourself one... a lot is happening right now!

Hi Pete, PSR has made this window farcical imo, the fact that the top teams spent freely to gain their current success (with City and Chelsea building success over night), yet teams striving to enter the elite now having to face this bureaucracy is unforgivable!, and takes away “any” competitive integrity. IN WHAT WORLD is it deemed fair that a team who battled against all odds for success, with a substantially weaker squad depth, are forced to sell their best players and academy players in a period in which we need more quality to compete!!!! … it’s frankly disgraceful that the prem operates in a way such as this!. It seems completely preordained that the big 6 stay as such, and a ball and chain has been firmly attached to the ankles to any team looking to change this!. But one thing that’s incredible amongst all the aforementioned is the fact that Monchi and the top brass are actually navigating and STILL improving! 😊 UTV Pete

The villa model is to buy younger players on the cusp of really kicking on. More importantly, high on the check sheet seems to be intelligence, hard work and willing to learn. It seems to me that unai puts so much detail into his prep he needs players who can absorb this info and execute it successfully. All positives for me!

  • @salesallez-francais8424

We are selling Douglas with his value high. He does tend to blow hot and cold over spells. Barrenechea will be a monster, but has had an ACL injury 2 years ago I think. Maatsen will add skill and energy. Iling Jnr can play anywhere on the left hand flank so will be great cover. Not sure about Dobbin to be honest. If Kellyman to Chelsea goes through then in the last three summers (and counting) Villa will have agreed sales worth £85million for 6 players with just 4 combined Premier League starts. Could be added to if other members of the Academy leave : Bogarde, Wilson, Chrisene, Revan, Smith, Feeney, one of the GKs. Then add in clearing out Cash, Carlos, Chambers, Dendoncker, Archer, Duran, Barry, KKH & Hause - and you think that the money should be there for a couple of marquee signings : Baena / Concalves, Bellanova / Frimpong, Eze / Williams. Gone are the days where promising academy players such as Luke & Stefan Moore brothers, Rushian Hepburn-Murphy , O'Hare etc leave for nothing. No more signings such as Marlon Harewood, Zat Knight, Brett Holman, Tonev, Holt, Sanchez and too many more..........

Great show as always Pete, no question a very exciting transfer window by way of we need to get better, but sadly some players being some because of PSR bullshit! Your wording describing the control of the top 6 by the "cartel" was priceless....you nailed it because that is what we have in the premiership, i think Sawiris and Edens should lodge a lawsuit against the league......the more you sit back and look at what is going on with capping financies on teams the higher the risk to the Premiership of falling from being the world's best league. Time for the PSR to be updated from the dark ages!

It's quite funny mentioning Dhuran and his agent
I picked them up from Dhurans home last year.
I'm an Uber Exec Driver and that's what he's ordered
It was quite funny because I had flashbacks of a previous Villa player that couldn't get out of his house when I pulled up outside the gated property because his agent was waiting INSIDE the gates to his house and couldn't get out.
    😂😂😂
He tried unsuccessfully for 5 minutes until Dhuran came out and had to look for the code on his phone to let them both out of their electric gated home.
I then took them to a Shopping centre in Tamworth to buy 'cables' for their flat screen TV.
All that money and he's doing it himself?
I'm surprised he didn't get a guy in to do it all with the money he's making.
But one thing that was clear was that his agent was actually LIVING with him from the way he didn't leave his side throughout.
    Crazy.
He also introduced himself before introducing Dhuran as his client

So see 30th June is the deadline and we have to just raise 20 to 30 million. Because 3 year loss as per psr is 105 million and we had 119 million loss in 3 year.
So the transaction of the deals will be as follows.
Luiz sold to juve - approx 27-30 million
Kellyman to Chelsea - approx 19m
Tim to Everton - 9 million.
And we will show this incoming of money in current financial year of which 30th June is the deadline. So we approx. Raised 55 million to 60 million in this current financial year.
And the purchases we made like Matsen,Illing Jr., barrenechea,Lewis dobin will be shown as purchase in next financial year as purchase.
      Hope this clear your doubts.

    • @karang100

Different profile of players I guess. Kellyman needed to thrive today if he wanted to break out in our 1st team because your competition is rogers, bundeia, diaby, ramsey, bailey. And on the other hand barrenechea he only had Bouba who is injured as of now as competition for breaking into the 1st team. Hope you got the point.

Another example is when he started the Brian Little episode claiming that he doesn’t entertain transfer rumors, then the next week released an entire episode about transfer rumors…. Still leaps and bounds better than the typical Villa podcast rubbish (I.e. two local Brummies who know barely anything about football talking to one another over video call).

It goes back to this exchange of HG players to bypass PSR, it is not a good look for the game and will lead to abuse of rules. The Maatsen Duran bid helps chelsea more as Maatsen is pure profit, while duran has book debt.
