I've seen first hand how dirty boxing is, even on a regional level. I can only imagine what it's like at the top.

Its actually the opposite. The regional scene has minimal oversight and not many people care. Which is why you can get away with a lot.

But I get what Chael is saying. The story surrounding the fight effects the judges and crowds in how they see the fight.

UFC 301, Anthony Smith subs Vitor Petrino, only to have Bruce Buffer begin reading Petrino as a winner and still undefeated. The whole "mistake" made it seem like Petrino was a lock if the fight had gone to decision.

So you’re saying what exactly? The fight was fixed? I’d say that in boxing there is an unwritten rule that the challenger needs to go above and beyond in a decision to win a belt off of a champion. Now what a challenger can do, is knock out the champ, or win so definitively that he takes it out of the judges hands. I’m not sure FN beat up TF so bad that it was out of the judges hands and they just HAD to give the fight to Francis. Especially not with the mega-fight on the line between Usyk and Fury. I was okay with that decision given the entirety of the context.
Now what Francis could have done, was not get embarrassed by Joshua in his very next fight, retained his legitimacy in the sport, and then challenged Fury again or challenged Usyk after the Fury win, or even fought AJ close then rematched AJ. But what happened was he got flattened, and now no one cares who, or if, he ever boxes again.
Let me be clear, I think Francis did enough to win that fight against Fury…on a level playing field. But it’s not a level playing field when you are talking about the lineal heavy weight championship of the world. Especially when the context includes taking the belt off of a long time champion, large PPV draw, and with an actual undisputed title fight hanging in the balance between two undefeated champions. That doesn’t happen but once or twice in a guys lifetime, and you don’t just scrap all that because someone put in a good showing like Francis did. Sorry Sonnan, but you’re wrong on this take. There was no fix, no conspiracy, nothing out of the ordinary with that fight.

I don’t believe the fix was in. It was a close fight btn Tyson and Francis. Francis didn’t call anyone out but he still end up getting a big fight with Joshua. Tyson and Usyk also worked out. Good for everyone.
Sometimes Uncle Chael gets over his skis. Bare with him. The scenario you lay out with Francis is BOZO. If you see a few scratch marks on the scorecards at the end night. Then...Houston we got problems. I've seen those. It's hard to whip up a scorecard really fast during the fight. But before the fight HINT HINT from a Promote, then you're right. Then Uncle Chael forgot the knockdown happened off the melon of Fury. That was all Francis because Tyson gets lazy in the pocket. Fury went to plan B. Trust me. Then, guess what Uncle Chael, he did so well unfortunately, that he ended up fighing the Ex Heavyweight Champion, who happens to be the main draw? Between both fights, Francis did as good as you can do money wise.
Unfortunately he looked so well with Fury because Fury gets lazy, that Francis ended up getting a chance with AJ and got crushed from an Olympic Gold Medalist, built like a Brick shithouse that looked as big as Francis but weighed 30 pounds less, with real heavyweight power and absolutely the most deadly punches in Boxing if he lands in both hands.
So this scenario that somehow Francis wanted and took the loss vs Fury, thinking he would get KO'd in a devastating fashion (which we all know Francis didn't want) is particularly being delusional. I new it was going to happen. Francis got a false sense of security from Tyson being LAZY. I still love Uncle Chael. One of the biggest hearts like Evander Holyfield I've ever seen. But needs to think ahead sometimes.

I doubt it was rigged. We all saw the look on Tyson's face when he got dropped and they showed his reaction to AJ making Francis look like he didn't belong. Tyson looked like he knew people would say he was washed since it was a lot harder for him to beat Francis. Then he got beat by Usyk afterwards. I think Tyson just got old and isn't at the level he was at before.

Fury let Francis dance with him. Not sure if the knockdown was a surprise but you have to understand how this works. Same as Mayweather Conor. Conor and Francis are fighting. Tyson and Floyd are sparring. Tyson was successful at doing what Floyd wanted to do and set up two or three more money fights with no risk. Floyd would've done that, but Conor said something that offended the black community albeit in innocent ignorance and Floyd said he felt he owed them a stoppage. You can't go from MMA into a sport and compete with people who have done nothing but hand strike since they were a kid. It's silly and they cannot and never would come into MMA and give that a whirl because it really would end badly.
