I really enjoyed your video. I am hoping you can help me to identify the effects on your guitar that sound like "strings" in the background (no pun intended). Is this the effect of the equalizer or a combination of pedal effects that you have on your board? thank you for your time and please forgive my ignorance on terms.
This is old, but that’s an amazing sounding setup. I’ve play playing acoustic for the last year on our worship team and I’ve just been running right into the house system but for the last month or so I’ve really been thinking there’s gotta be more I can do for my sound. I’ve got a Martin X Series and I’m about to replace my Fishman with an LR Baggs Anthem just as soon as I can get my guitar in to someone who can do it. I bought the Anthem about a week ago. Sounds Great. I am putting together a small Acoustic Pedalboard (pedaltrain nano) - using a Blue Sky, El Capistan and Dimension DC-2W Waza with Strymon Ojai.
I have NEVER fallen so in love with a pedal so fast over a youtube video. The way you use the BigSky with the delay is incredible. I'll be saving for a few months for it, but I definitely want to use it for a worship song I was writing. Thank you for your video, it really got me excited to revisit a song I left for a while!!! That being said, did you have to download anything to get it to that huge sound? It literally took my breath away.
Hey Wesley that's so awesome! Happy I could help inspire! The BigSky is AMAZING dude. Can't say enough good things about it. Didn't have to download anything, just messed with some settings on the Cloud setting! 👍🏼
Why did I watch this video... Now I want to buy a big sky pedal even though I have no money. I really love your pedal setup and it inspires me to get a setup of my own. Keep up the good stuff friend.
TheFirefly888 It's wonderful, but I would suggest most players don't need it. If you want lush reverb like that, you can get as good if not better than that with a Neunaber pedal, or even one of the TC Tone print line, like the HOF or the T2. These are compact pedals, with stereo IO and absolutely gorgeous algorithms, and have easily as much tweakability as the Bigsky if you plug them into a computer. Bluesky is also just as awsome sounding, but without the presets, the midi, the more weird algorithms that most people don't use, and no menu diving. Also I have had great sounds from the Digitech Hardwire RV7 and Supernatural, and the Digitech Polaris is pretty awsome too, and they are cheap. The good old Boss RV5 is also pretty decent, however while it has stereo IO, it has a mono reverb engine, so only the dry signal is stereo. All I can say to sum it all up is that it's a great time for reverb and delay lovers, and there are some incredible sounding pedals available for not very much money.
Definitely. A good sounding dark modulated reverb with a longer decay would do it. Like I said, I love the RV-5 for this type of thing as well. Great quality and character reverb for not very expensive. They make the RV-6 now as the new version which sounds equally as great, just has a few more sound options, but used RV-5's can be found used for under $100. Great option. Other reverbs I like are the Neunaber WET, Foxpedal Magnifica, and the TC Electronic Hall Of Fame.
Thanks Michael. I'll look into the RV-5 and RV-6. As much as I'd love to have something like a big sky, I just don't see being able to use it to the fullest.
Thanks for getting back to me. I currently use a Digitech Vocalist Live 2 + Zoom A-2 + Boss DD# + Boss foot pedal. I checked a couple rigs online like yours. One guy is using the LR Baggs Venue for a preamp. I just purchased the Helicon Vocaltone and want to run it into the A-2 then the El Capistan then the BigSky then the volume pedal. The Helicon, El Capistan and BigSky and going to replace everything but the Zoom a-2 and the volume pedal. I was hoping to use the Zoom as a preamp/DI. Does that sound right to you? I'd like to replace the Zoom but after spending the money for all the other gear I need to let my wallet cool down. Not only do I want to find out if that configuration will work but I also want to know if I should get rid of the Zoom and what I should replace it with. (Will something like the LR Baggs make a "big" difference or will it do a good job? Thanks for letting me pick your brain. I love your sound by the way. Awesome!
Yeah no problem at all man thanks for the kind words dude! Im not too terribly familiar with the Zoom stuff, but I have seen some guys use them. I do like the LR Baggs stuff a LOT. They make incredible sounding gear. I like their Para DI if youre on a budget. Been meaning to pick one up myself actually haha. But yeah man the rest of that sounds like a really solid rig 🤘🏼
I enjoyed the tones that you get... and the thought process to make it so versatile. I was wondering what the straight guitar tone to the board sounds like.
+M3RRIH3W13 Thanks a lot man. I forgot to turn the reverb off (since I keep that on all the time) but when I turn the EQ on and off that's as close to the dry signal I got in this video. It doesn't sound a lot different, just small EQ tweaks.
Surprised you didn't have a swell pedal there. It would kinda control and modify whatever reverb and delay combination you have going on there and create an orchestral string section. A lot of acoustic players (like me) love echoes....send/return sort of thing but it's more than a bit of fun. It can be incredible once you catch the right wave if you know what I mean. I've no idea what guitar, p/ups you use, as you muttered a bit in the intro and my hearing is shot to pieces. I use an old Takamine with Fishmans (passive), a Digitech 2000, a Schaller swell and 3 Bosses...comp., chorus and sustain. Despite all that treatment, the guitar still sounds like an acoustic through headphones. Always great to get an insight into other player's rigs Michael. Thanks for taking the time to post. Appreciated.
Personally, I don't have a need for that on acoustic. I could always throw the BigSky on the Swell setting if I wanted to though. And thanks for the encouragement man. Glad the video was appreciated!
Great video, really nice and simple! I have a question, where did you get your expression knob and what is it called. Or if you could put the link of where you got it, thanks and God bless. :)
+Jason Kopytin Hey thanks Jason! I got it from a company called This1'sMyne (or T1M). I am pretty positive it's just called an expression knob lol :) this1smyne.com/shop/me-mini-expression-pedal/
This inspired me to think about doubling up with a digital reverb and an analog delay like you do. Also enjoyed your remarks on why you chose to use what. Very helpful to me as I go about designing my own acoustic pedalboard (coming from a Zoom A3). In case anyone is interested, my board will revolve around the superb Red Eye Twin preamp by Fire Eye. It is the first and only preamp/multi-effect I have ever plugged into that makes me guitars all sound exactly like they sound, without artificially making them more muddy or more trebly or my diffuse. I run that (via the effects loop) into a fantastic Cali76 Compact Deluxe compressor with a low compression setting and a lot of dry signal blended in. The rest is undecided. Probably, like you, an EQ pedal, then delay + chorus + reverb. Open for suggestions that won‘t suck tone...
hey brother im in a christian worship band and im looking for some pedals to help find my tone right now only using a holy grail reverb pedal. any other suggestions? also do you happen to have a video on the melody you play in this video during the finger picking part?
Aye mate I play in the youth band and the worship team at my church. I play with a squire strat through an AC-15. My board has a DOD pre-amp 250> BOSS Blues Driver (BD-2)> Quik-lok volume pedal> Electro Harmonix Memory Boy Deluxe> TC Electronics Hall of Fame verb> BOSS Loop (RC-3). The drive pedals are great for some crunch and grit on heavier songs ( Glory of Our King, Goodbye Ordinary, The mountain). The volume pedal makes for wicked swells on slower songs( Come Holy Spirit by Vertical, Take Courage). The analog is nice and warm and makes things very bright and takes the swells to a whole new level. It's also great for upbeat songs such as Only King Forever. Lastly, the verb is great to fill the space and it adds so much to my board. The loop is wicked for when I want to pick over a rhythm or play over rhythm when I'm playing by myself (Power of the Cross). Hope this helped:)
Hey Michael, Awesome video! It got me on the right track in building my own acoustic board. What DI do you use/recommend? Do you like the Hall of Fame reverb pedal? Lastly, I have a Taylor 814. If I wanted to use a volume pedal (Ernie ball jr.) does it matter if it is passive or active? I don't understand the difference Thank you bro!
Thanks man that's great! Any DI will work. But if you're mainly an acoustic player, or play it often in a live setting, the LR Baggs Para DI is fantastic. It has a great EQ on it as well so that would void the need for a separate EQ pedal like I'm using. The HOF is a great reverb. And as far as the volume pedals... I honestly don't know the difference either lol. As far as I can tell it makes absolutely no difference for me lol.
Cool man! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and insight. It was seriously a blessing. I'll be sure to refer this video to my friends who play acoustic since I myself saw it like 30 times lol. Hope you post some more awesomeness soon. God bless
Hey man! Take a look at the TC Electronic Body Rez. It really helps give back to a guitar what a sound system can rob from it. I have one on my acoustic board and i love it. gives the guitar a tone like it is being mic'd and not ran direct in.
Hey thanks, sounds great!, I would like to know what are the name of each component, to start buying each one, I found the Strymon Big Sky, but the other components is there where I have doubts
Joel Berrier I might be too late but have you had a look at the Neunaber Immerse for even less cash? Depends how many options you need but sounds absolutely gorgeous and holds its own up against any reverb.
Joel Berrier personally I'd just invest in the bigsky, for the tone and just because you get a bunch of different reverbs as well. Although there is a bit of a learning curve, but nothing too difficult
that's a one of a kind video, I almost watched this hundred times...I wanted to ask if the cab filter on strymon is used in this video, and does it make a big difference, I wanna buy aurora reverb but the cab filter is making me confused...thanks a lot for the video and your help too :)
Wow thanks so much man! Glad it's helped and inspired you! No cab filter in this video. It does make a difference, but I would stay away from it on acoustic guitar. It's a great "backup" option if you're running electric guitar and an amp goes down or something though.
+Rockerx1997x Thanks man yeah it really does. I think everything is set around 11 o'clock/noon-ish. The Mix is probably down lower around 9 or 10 o'clock
It all sounds great! Can you explain about the little dial that you use for control the level of reverb. does that come with the reverb pedal or is a separate thing?
It's separate. Some pedals have 'expression' functions, where you could connect a pedal or knob and it's essentially you turning whatever setting is programmed to it. Let's you sweep the sounds you like while keeping your hands playing.
Just depends on what sound you're going for. In my case, I run an electric guitar and an electric violin through the same rig so having that EQ pedal in the front helps
Bro this is awesome. I have a question, if you could only have one pedal for acoustic worship in a smaller church, what pedal would you choose? And how do you feel about a L.R. Baggs Para DI?
L.R. Baggs Para DI is the single most incredible pedal for any guitar. I've yet to plug a single guitar into it that hasn't improved 10-fold in sound. I've convinced at least 3 other worship leaders to get them, and they've never looked back. Martin, Taylor, Gibson, Yamaha, doesn't matter.
Thanks man. If I could only have on pedal it depends on the guitar and how you like the sound. If you love the sound of the guitar I would do just reverb. But if you're missing something from your guitar or want to shape the tone a little more then an EQ or a good DI with built in EQ, like the LR Baggs stuff. I love what they do. I don't play acoustic often, so I haven't bought one, but if I did I would get one of those first and foremost, then you wouldn't have to worry about the EQ because those have EQ controls on them.
Hi I accidently took my giga delay out of my acoustic chain and was amazed how much better everything ie the tone sounded . I purchased a couple of TC delay pedals and as well as taking up less room they sounded so much better.Dont get me wrong I really like the giga but worth checking out
Awesome dude! I could never bond with any of the TC delays. I've tried a handful of them, I just can't get them to sound as dark and full bodied as the DD-20. I also have owned and used a DD-500 and a Strymon Timeline. BOSS delay's are just the flavor I prefer the most.
Hey man! I keep watching this video because I love the acoustic tones on here. I'm actually running a Tc flashback x4 into a strymon blue sky. I thought my tone was good without that bigsky but man was I wrong. Definitely gonna save money to upgrade to the bigsky. Also, can the boss dd500 be powered with a onespot or onespot pro on the DC side?
Hey thanks a lot man! The BlueSky is no slouch though!! haha And I would say yes it can be powered, however I wouldn't daisy chain it. You'll probably get lots of noise and it's not ideal for the pedal itself. I'd power the DD-500 on its own.
I'm not sure if I'm hearing things right but it seems like there's some sort of keyboard sounding strings when you play a chord. What's making that sound?
+Capt Ron Hey man. In a live situation, yes always use a DI to go to the mixing board. For the purpose of this video I didnt need one because my recording interface (a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2) acts as the direct box.
DUUUDE I LOVE THIS! Im planning on buying the bigsky and the dd-20 for my worship pedal board! Totally loved the sounds of it on the acoustic man:) God bless! PS. I saw you play Destiny man! we should play some time next iron banner! All love man
Haha thanks bro! I love the combo of the BS and DD-20 man it's great! And heck yeah bro I'm totally down for that!! I actually am looking for some people to run Trials with some time as well!
I will be probably using bunch of pedals from a taylor 314c with lr baggs pick up into Scarlett 2i2, I would like to know if there is anything u could advise me with...I know I asked many things...but u r the only one I saw with proper acoustic pedal board demo...
That honestly sounds like a great setup man. Just make sure your signal isn't clipping when you're strumming loudly. Other than that, you should be sounding great!
Im very sorry but I dont have much knowledge. Does your electro acoustic guitar have "inbuilt" amp. Or how really that works without amp. because I want to buy beginner electro acoustic guitar and dont have amp. I know that you wrote in decription but Im really sorry because Im pretty new here. All apologies, thanks!
Zdravo Ivane! Pozdravi, Milovan
I explained the equipment I recorded with in the video description. I'm not sure what a DAC is. Your best bet to answer that question would be to search RUclips for how to sync audio and and video. It's way more than I'm willing to write up in a reply here.
I have a fluorescence shimmer pedal by t.c. electronics. It blend well with the blood moon phaser I have along with my joyo d-seed 4 channel delay and jam man stomp box.
+Michael Eberhardt I'm currently using LR Baggs Venue Di and Boss RV-6. I'm thinking to add either blue sky or big sky. What do you think? Or any suggestions for other pedals for church use. Thanks
Oh thanks! I'm thinking of what pedals am I gonna use for my acoustic guitar. Before I wasn't even imagining for a reverb fx because I usually play in our church which is a very not so acoustic room and full of reverb/hall sound...so cathedral type. But now I think I wanna have delay, reverb, tremolo, phaser and maybe an octaver. Hahaha
an acoustic pedalboard MUST to have a Di to plug inI, my friend? i'm going to buy only REVERB, EQ, TUNER and Delay. what i have to do to avoid a bad sound or losing sound?
A DI is a great tool, especially for playing at venues. What the DI does is converts your normal TS or TRS signal to an XLR signal, and the reason it does that is because normally your sound board is far away from the stage and you don't lose quality with a long XLR run. For what I did here, I don't have any long cable runs because I'm in my bedroom plugging straight into my audio interface, which is designed to take XLR, TS, or TRS input, so there's no need for a DI in this instance. Unfortunately I'm not sure what your question really is man. Make sure you've got good power for each pedal and good cables, and most importantly, play well :)
hey, bro. thanks for answer me. i'm learning english, i'm no so good yet haha so...when you play at stage, do you use a DI or just plug the P10 cable on the mixer ? is the DI a importante thing?
+Michael Eberhardt Sweet! Also, since I'm on a bit of a budget, do you think I'd be able to get these same effects with a Zoom A3 for example? It's supposed to be an all-in-one kinda solution.
Hey again man! I saw some comments saying you sold your pedal collection. If you were to make another acoustic board, what pedals you you use? Do you also care about the size? Just personally for me I'd use a mini tuner now just to save space Haha like the polytune 2 mini. But the bigsky I'd definitely invest! Joyo also made a 10 band eq that's actually pretty affordable! Just in case if you're interested, it's called the joyo band controller! Cheers!
Kyongmin David Kim hey man! Actually, I just sold off a few of these pedals, the DD-20, the BigSky, and the Carbon Copy. I’ve since purchased another BigSky as I missed it haha! I actually REALLY like the Neunaber Wet however. It’s a fantastic sounding Reverb, I just missed all of the presets and such from the BigSky. But I’m actually selling the Neunaber right now on Reverb.com lol. I still use similar effects however. I just put together a mini board which was a PolyTune Mini, the Joyo EQ, and the Neunaber Wet and it sounded fantastic! Haha
@@michaeljames-u7u oh shoot cool! If you still want a 10 band eq that's actually 9v and doesn't take up too much real estate, just letting you know joyo made a 10 band eq this year and it's basically the mxr eq pedal but cheaper lol. I wish I can get the wet reverb but unfortunately, I have other plans with the board I'm making for my acoustic haha. Also if you still have the small board, can you make a video? I love your content, it's awesome and inspiring
Kyongmin David Kim that’s awesome! A 10 band EQ would be awesome. And I would but I already tore it apart just because the verb is for sale haha. But thanks man I really appreciate that! I do need to make some more videos haha
@@michaeljames-u7u oh shoot man that sucks but oh well what can you do? But anyway, I really do hope you make another video soon. Especially with gear rundowns. I mean I pretty much filled my board to the max, even while using a novo 24 for my acoustic board Haha. Oh yeah and feel free to just call me David
it is a quite expensive pedal board. Especially BIGsky... I dont understand why are you using carbon copy and DD delay together ? Equalizer, hm ok, but with good amp you dont need that. bigsky is fine but reverb on amp is enough.
A few things - First, this is what I like. I'm not saying anybody else has to use what I use, I just made a video showing what I like. I also mentioned the BigSky's thing could be accomplished with a cheaper Boss RV-5 if desired. I gave an example of why I like to use the Carbon Copy and DD-20 together. They're in 2 different spots on the board and used for two very different things. And I don't use an amp. In my opinion acoustic amps are kind of a joke unless you're not using a PA system. I never play anywhere I'd need an acoustic amp, personally. Plus, there's no reverb on an amp that sounds like the BigSky lol.
Hey James, yeah I sold it a while back, would love to pick one up again though. Since getting rid of it I moved to the Strymon Timeline, and then currently to the Boss DD-500. Both great units!
@@michaeljames-u7u Thanks for the reply. Both of those seemed a bit intimidating to me so I ended up picking up the DD-200 early this year. It seems to have all the delays I need (and more) as well as onboard tap and various parameters that I have not even started to play with.
@@nomandad2000 Because I got rid of the one in this video and it's my favorite sounding delay pedal. haha I didn't have any issues with added noise whatsoever.
Michael Eberhardt cool. ive recently changed from a morley volume pedal to a mxr micro amp boost pedal for my leads. Thinking of running it 2nd in the chain. #1 boss tuner #2 mxr #3 boss delay #4 wah. Your thoughts.
Michael Eberhardt yah bro.. I use it really...just for a chilli peppers song. "Dark necessities". I try to incorporate my electric playing style (effects) into our set list. I have a acoustic cover band and we do a lot of tunes that are popular but with flair. Still simple but, you know. I'm Working on Livin in a prayer...with a talk box. Its just the right thing to do ha. Blue sky pedal is next. Pedal order is so huge.
blue sky is in my zoom too. and what about chorus ? everybody is talking about recommended chorus for an acoustic. I can simulate chorus on my delay and this effect is usable only for some songs, blues.... come as you are, or Sanitarium...
It sounds like theres quite a bit of diffusion on this. On the bigsky on the global setting I believe (just push and hold down the knob closest to the screen) and you should be able to find more of this sound through those settings. Theres diffusion in there and also you can make this effect sound wider through the settings in the bigsky as well. Also probably make the tone knob between 10-11 if that helps ;) It might also help to take out some bottom end of the reverb
Thank you for posting this video. It was very helpful. I've been thinking through my wants for my acoustic set-up. Thank you!
damn, since I'm a huge fan of reverb effects on acoustic Guitar I have to say, your sound is on point! really like it, thx for sharing.

+Michael Eberhardt Awesome, thank you. :)
Hey brother helps a lot ty! do you or can you make a video of that single note melody you play?
Hi Michael, thanks for the review. I would like to know if the pedals are directly input into your Focusrite Scarlett 2i2? Thanks!
Yup straight in with a mono TS instrument cable :)
Hey Michael,
Awesome video!
I don't understand the difference
Thank you bro!
God bless
Hey that's awesome thanks so much Walter! Happy to help in any way!
Hey man! Take a look at the TC Electronic Body Rez. It really helps give back to a guitar what a sound system can rob from it. I have one on my acoustic board and i love it. gives the guitar a tone like it is being mic'd and not ran direct in.
Yeah I've heard of it. Never tried one. Looks interesting.
Hey man! Love the sound! Can you tell me what chord progression you used while finger picking?
Hey man I think I capo'd like 3 and played D-A-Bm-G with an open high e string. I think... lol
Hey thanks, sounds great!, I would like to know what are the name of each component, to start buying each one, I found the Strymon Big Sky, but the other components is there where I have doubts
+Menny I updated the description with all the pedal names for you :)
Excellent many thanks!
Nice to see a fellow Christian musician! Great video!
Hey thanks Jacob!
Wow, love the sound! God bless.
I’m looking to get my first pedal for acoustic. Do you recommend the BigSky or spend less on the bluesky? Thanks for your video
Great video. Who makes the external mix knob? Thanks
+David Dawson Thanks man! The knob is made by This 1's Myne. Great little outfit. this1smyne.com
that's a one of a kind video, I almost watched this hundred times...I wanted to ask if the cab filter on strymon is used in this video, and does it make a big difference, I wanna buy aurora reverb but the cab filter is making me confused...thanks a lot for the video and your help too :)
Wow thanks so much man! Glad it's helped and inspired you! No cab filter in this video. It does make a difference, but I would stay away from it on acoustic guitar. It's a great "backup" option if you're running electric guitar and an amp goes down or something though.
No problem this is really something rare and it's very good :)...thanks for your help, I really appreciate that
hey bro, that sounds grt...could u plz let me know wt all you using on this pedal board along with which brand those belongs...
Ruben Singh he's using:
- BOSS Chromatic tuner
-Joyo 6-band EQ
- BOSS DD-20 Delay
- MXR Carbon Copy Delay
- Strymon BigSky Reverb
sweet little vid
Sounds good. What pickup are you using in the acoustic?
The pedalboards is use delay reverb only, isn't it?
hey what is your setting for you mar carbon copy?
it works so well with the big sky
- love it
+Rockerx1997x Thanks man yeah it really does. I think everything is set around 11 o'clock/noon-ish. The Mix is probably down lower around 9 or 10 o'clock
thank you good sir
It all sounds great! Can you explain about the little dial that you use for control the level of reverb. does that come with the reverb pedal or is a separate thing?
It's separate. Some pedals have 'expression' functions, where you could connect a pedal or knob and it's essentially you turning whatever setting is programmed to it. Let's you sweep the sounds you like while keeping your hands playing.
SMELLTHEBULL yup what Andrew said. It's just this specific reverb unit that lets me do it this way.
Michael Eberhardt
Thanks.
Hey what Nice set up Thanks for posting it
+Jailson Rocha Thanks a ton! Glad you enjoyed it
Do you ever use the swell feature on the big sky with your acoustic? Just wondering if that's possible and how it sounds.
+1 for the Joyo EQ. I love mine. It's on my board with pedals that cost 10x as much.
why do I need EQ ? I have lows, middles, trebles on my AMP.... can you help ? + I have eq on my guitar
If you're using an amp with EQ controls then you don't need an EQ pedal if you don't want.
Just depends on what sound you're going for. In my case, I run an electric guitar and an electric violin through the same rig so having that EQ pedal in the front helps
Hello! Can i use an electric guitar effects for my acoustic guitar? Maybe Nux Mod Force? Im using an ovation celebrity btw. Thanks!
+Ronell Oropesa Yes you can. All of the effects you see in my video are considered electric guitar effects :)
If you had to bring it down to like 3 pedals what would you choose? It’s because I hate carrying extra things,
I would definitely go Tuner>EQ>Reverb if I could only choose 3
Great acoustic tone
+Miguel Munoz Thanks Miguel!
I'd power the DD-500 on its own.
ah cool, thanks a lot! so glad i bought the onespot pro cs7 then haha thanks!
I'm not sure if I'm hearing things right but it seems like there's some sort of keyboard sounding strings when you play a chord. What's making that sound?
Yup that's what the reverb pedal sounds like
Thanks!!!
can you show what setting you have on the bigsky?
Hey Justine, if I remember to look in and write it down I'll let you know the settings. It's on the Cloud verb so start there and you'll get close.
Michael, I'm trying to figure out if I need a DI. Are you using one?
Michael Eberhardt DUDE I'm totally down man! Xbox? or Play Station?
I'm on that XB1 grind man haha
Aye you know what time it issss lets goo hahaha, whats your gamer tag man?
Haha heck yeah dude! GT: MichaelisaJEDI
what is the delay setting in 3:32 ?
Can you plug an acoustic with onboard electronics directly into Strymon?
I will be probably using bunch of pedals from a taylor 314c with lr baggs pick up into Scarlett 2i2, I would like to know if there is anything u could advise me with...I know I asked many things...but u r the only one I saw with proper acoustic pedal board demo...
That honestly sounds like a great setup man. Just make sure your signal isn't clipping when you're strumming loudly. Other than that, you should be sounding great!
+Michael Eberhardt thanks a lot for your help :) ...wish u all the best of luck and progress on your musical journey :)
love it!
Great setup. Can I ask what's your pedalboard?
Rooz Izadi seriously ?
No compressor? Unneeded in,live setups do you think?
Dean Graham Wolfe Guitar Channel hey man. I’ve tried compression on Acoustic and just couldn’t jive with it. I love it for electric though!
I also wanted buy looping station. What are your tips for a reggae artist ?
ASI බ්රෝ boss rc-3 or rc-30
Im very sorry but I dont have much knowledge. Does your electro acoustic guitar have "inbuilt" amp. Or how really that works without amp. because I want to buy beginner electro acoustic guitar and dont have amp. I know that you wrote in decription but Im really sorry because Im pretty new here. All apologies, thanks!
Zdravo Ivane! Pozdravi, Milovan
how do you record ? which DAC are you using ? and what about video and sound sync ?
I explained the equipment I recorded with in the video description. I'm not sure what a DAC is. Your best bet to answer that question would be to search RUclips for how to sync audio and and video. It's way more than I'm willing to write up in a reply here.
Are u running into a amp and if so what kind .next question can you get this same tone and sound going straight in to a system PA
Victoria Bischel hi Victoria, nope I’m not running an amp at all. This is the direct tone, just like you would get going straight into a PA system :)
Thanks
I have a fluorescence shimmer pedal by t.c. electronics. It blend well with the blood moon phaser I have along with my joyo d-seed 4 channel delay and jam man stomp box.
What song is that riff from? Around 7:30? Thanks! :)
Hi, Will NUX MG-20 Multi-effect pedal would produce similar sound with an acoustic Guitar?
Michael Eberhardt
Hey Andy, not sure. I've never used that pedal. You'd probably know better than I would lol.
Hey Thanks for your response. Just wondering Would Chorus Effect works for worship as well ? Thanks
No problem. Yeah if you like chorus, go for it!
hey Michael, are you using a single power suply for all effects
Yep just a OneSpot for everything except for the Strymon, like I mentioned.
Mike can you give me a basic setting of your bigsky cloud reverb?
very cool well done.. I'm looking to do something similar.
+Viliami Tuamoheloa Thanks a lot man. It's definitely a fun way to play!
May I know what are the name of the delay n reverb pedals u r using? Thx
Boss DD-20 and Strymon BigSky
+Michael Eberhardt I'm currently using LR Baggs Venue Di and Boss RV-6. I'm thinking to add either blue sky or big sky. What do you think? Or any suggestions for other pedals for church use. Thanks
+vance955 I like the Boss reverb as well as both Strymons.
hi! where is that synth pad like sound coming from? cool!
Hey man the pad sound is just my reverb pedal - the Strymon BigSky
Wow! That's so sweet! I wish have one. Thanks!
+Donnie Facun thanks man yeah it's a very cool pedal. A less expensive option would be the Boss RV-5 reverb pedal. Does the same kind of thing
Hahaha
I always thought a reverb goes after a delay?
There’s no set rules, sounds great after, sounds great before 🙌🏻
I LOVE THIS!
How If the equalizer pedal change with compresor pedal ?
what is your big sky settings on the cloud reverb?
I can't recall offhand. I did a lot of tweaking. I'll try to figure out the settings for you if I remember to haha!
What do you use to combat feedback in a live setting?
+Matt Derynioski Hey Matt. I've never had a problem personally with feedback live. But if I did I'd use a sound hole cover.
what r those two black padals ? which one is giving that extra reverb mlody?
Probably the Strymon Big Sky doing all that verb sensation.
an acoustic pedalboard MUST to have a Di to plug inI, my friend? i'm going to buy only REVERB, EQ, TUNER and Delay. what i have to do to avoid a bad sound or losing sound?
No problem Icaro :) Yes a DI is important when playing on stage, I always plug into one on stage
Can you tell me the settings you use on your cloud patch?
I'll have to dig in and take a look
I like the sound of 'Our God'. Is that your own composition?
Yep it's an arrangement my church has been doing for years. I do it differently on acoustic and just kinda do my own thing 🤘🏼
+Michael Eberhardt Sweet!
Also, since I'm on a bit of a budget, do you think I'd be able to get these same effects with a Zoom A3 for example? It's supposed to be an all-in-one kinda solution.
+Shastha Liyanage unfortunately I'm not too familiar with the Zoom stuff.
+Michael EberhardtI I see, no isse. cool sound anyway!
Keep rocking it!
+Shastha Liyanage Thanks man! You as well!
Freaking awesome sound man…
Haha thanks man!
Can u make a video on how u recorded your guitar plays with the focusrite
freeeeeee faaaaaallin 1:29 definitly
it is a quite expensive pedal board.
THANKS, I just bought DD 500 delay. And I have ditto x4 looper. So how is Your sound produced? If you Dont need amp?
Very nice. The DD-500 is a great pedal. Don't need an amp to produce sound when hooked up to a PA system.Just a DI box and a mixing board.
Saw that you sold the DD-20. What delay are you using now?
Hey James, yeah I sold it a while back, would love to pick one up again though. Since getting rid of it I moved to the Strymon Timeline, and then currently to the Boss DD-500. Both great units!
@@michaeljames-u7u Thanks for the reply. Both of those seemed a bit intimidating to me so I ended up picking up the DD-200 early this year. It seems to have all the delays I need (and more) as well as onboard tap and various parameters that I have not even started to play with.
@@jamesmharvey I'm a big fan of the Boss delays for sure! You have a great unit with the DD-200!
@@michaeljames-u7u why did you want another DD20? I also heard that some people complain that it added noise..did you encounter that?
@@nomandad2000 Because I got rid of the one in this video and it's my favorite sounding delay pedal. haha I didn't have any issues with added noise whatsoever.
What is that string type background music whn u play the guitar
Preciouswell l. Marshilong it’s reverb
@@michaeljames-u7u thnks bro i'm new to this pedal world so.. thnks alot
Preciouswell l. Marshilong oh hey I didn’t mean that in any malicious way. Sorry if it came off that way.
do you recommend joyo EQ? :P
Sure. It does its job
Merry Christmas
thnx cool
excellent thanks
Hey! What amp do you use on stage?
Hey man, no amp, just DI straight to the PA system
Another question, does the Joyo have a hiss like the Boss GE-7? What EQ pedal do you recommend?
I haven't noticed any hiss at all nope. This is one I'd recommend.
What are using for a volume pedal?
GrappaDavePRS thanks man! I don't have a need for a volume pedal on acoustic personally
Michael Eberhardt cool. ive recently changed from a morley volume pedal to a mxr micro amp boost pedal for my leads.
Thinking of running it 2nd in the chain. #1 boss tuner #2 mxr #3 boss delay #4 wah. Your thoughts.
GrappaDavePRS wah for acoustic? That's interesting. Wah's also typically go first in the chain.
I can simulate chorus on my delay and this effect is usable only for some songs, blues.... come as you are, or Sanitarium...
please what amp are you using??
No amp. See description for details on what I'm doing.
Also probably make the tone knob between 10-11 if that helps ;)
It might also help to take out some bottom end of the reverb
Kyongmin David Kim thanks man! I have it set exactly the way I prefer :) all of those settings have been dialed in to my taste already 🤙🏼
