The subject caught my eye. Thanks for the video. My cat, rescued when my friend died, sleeps in many of these positions. Not covered is one where he wraps himself up in the protective sheet or throw I have on the bed. I've noticed him retreating to this when we have new visitors, as we've spent most of the last 11 years without many, so he's not used to people coming in. He is starting to come out for these two new visitors and he easier with women... his abuser was a man, family of his first human mommy, who loved him dearly. The woman took a couple weeks, him hiding in the closet. It's taken a year for him to come out for this man, even though he's come in to take care of him while I've been gone. He didn't push it so now he's making friends. I imagine he'll sleep topside again pretty soon.
I don't completely agree with the box one. Yes, it can mean they are afraid. It can also be just because cats like boxes. Our feline roomies rule the roost, but still love playing in/with boxes. We call #4 the kitty flop.
I don’t agree too. Cats just love to go into boxes….period. My cats have never known any fear in my household and they are spoiled. I think it’s just a curiosity whenever a box is near them….it’s their curious nature that compels them to jump inside the box every time.
@@Kistan12 It can be really cute too. Seeing one of my rather big cats who managed to squish herself in a tiny box, cracked me up. Also made me agree with the 'cats are liquid' thing.
Studies have shown that “boxes” don’t even need walls. Cats just like being surrounded by. For example, we have an L-shaped wall made up of the door leading to the garage and a perpendicular wall with a door mat forming a third “wall.” Jasmine like to just sit in this “box” to relax.
My cat doesn't always sleep with me, she also likes the arm of the sofa. The thing is, should I be worried that my cat snores? She doesn't have a blocked nose, even when she sleeps during the day she has a tendency to snore. I did mention it to the vet, but they didn't say too much about it. Just curious what you say? She is 11 years old.
The fact that Pikkle is near you at all when sleeping tells you it is not “grumpy” with you. You didn’t say how the cat was laying, other than facing away from you. Was it laying against you with its back against some part of you? Are you two on the couch or bed? Actually, I go back to my first statement. If it is sleeping anywhere near you while on a couch or bed, it is happy and feels safe.

My cat, Henriettas favorite positions are a half loaf (1 arm out and 1 under), and stretched out as far as she can in the sun :)
We call the LOAF POSITION the "Turkey Pose" in our household. It's 'Greta' and 'Sahara's' preferred look.😊
