I was worried about my Int/Faith spread because I was trying to learn every single spell I could come across. Then I found this weapon and it became my main weapon. My strat has been to let my summons attract the enemy's attention and then just laser them from the back, and it's worked perfectly so far. I'm a little disappointed that there's not some item that lets you cast sorceries and incantations at the same time, but I'm quite happy to know that they've allowed for caster builds to work up both stats for casting and still be ludicrously powerful. Definitely not a PvP weapon, but great if you just want to instagib bosses.
They really should have created a weapon called the "sword of ice and fire" ... it would be an incredibly strong weapon, but if you use it, you get the worst possible ending of the story.
The damage on this is insane, but I feel like it's pretty much useless against fast / aggressive bosses. Against slow moving enemies it's probably the best weapon though. So it obviously is very strong, but I wouldn't call it "OP". Especially if you consider the attribute requirements. If you want to use it early, you are forced to spec purely into Int and Faith. If you want to use it late, it's alright - but at this point you have better options than this sword.
Nah bruh strong and fast enemies get hit with the flame slash, and after that you hit them with the beam. You can go toe to toe if you have a shield and got your timing right too
Yeah I'm late into the game and i would definitely still call this sword top tier especially if you utilize flames grant me strength with it the fire attack straight up melts late game bosses
I respec'd to use this when I first got it because the beams and fire looks cool as hell, and the stats needed allow me to play with both Faith and Int spells, both which I'm also interested in, after main-ing STR and DEX builds for the rest of the souls game. I found this pretty early on in my play through and had to stop using it because it was starting to make the game genuinely boring by taking out every shred of challenge from the game, ESPECIALLY with Mimic Tear.
Same here! A friend saw me using this sword and went, "Wow if only we have this sword back in MHW, we wouldn't have had so much trouble with Fatalis".
