Sorry, to only reply just now, RUclips doesn't seem to notify me about comments. It's probably waay to late now but I used the Sims 4. Did you register at Edinburgh uni and did you get in? x
Hello! This video was really helpful, thank you. Was just wondering, as I am applying to Nottingham Trent, what grades did you get at A-Level? I got BCC and the entry grades for are BBB so was just wondering if you know whether they place more importance on your personal statement/portfolio of work. Thank you.
I am not too sure, I am very sorry. I did my A-levels in Germany so the grades don't compare. I think their focus is on both but maybe if your portfolio is really amazing the grades don't matter. But I am not really too sure, so sorry I couldn't be of more help. I hope you get in :)
Hi may I ask what subjects did you pick in a-levels because I'm 15 turning 16 in a few days and I want to study interior design in uni so I'm confused on what to choose in a-levels but I am definitely choosing art but I'm not sure about the other 2 options
Is this the portfolio you sent to all universities? Because universities like Kingston usually want 20 pages, but yours is actually over this limit and I wonder is this a problem?
Thank you so much that means a lot! I am so happy you enjoyed it :) I applied to Nottingham Trent, University of Brighton, Glasgow School of Art, Kingston University and University of the Arts London, hope this helps :)
So how do u find the course so far? The video u linked in description bar, the girl that shows her portfolio, just posted a video a week ago saying she quitted the course!!
Dave Wong I am not going to lie I am considering quitting the course. Don’t get me wrong the course is really good! It’s just not what I expected at all. It’s very Architecture based.
Hi there beautiful ❤️ Thank you for uploading this, it's really going to help me with my Portfolio, I do have a little question though, which app/site did you use to upload your art pieces onto? thank you for this again xx
Tahina 147 Hi beautiful, I am glad I could help and thank you for your lovely comment! ❤️ Depending on what uni you apply to they usually want you to upload it onto different sites. After I applied they would usually send me a link via email on where to upload it onto and I think for one uni I had to create my own website, where I just uploaded the slides individually ☺️ but they will usually tell you what websites they accept in an email. As for the presentation itself I did that one on keynote xx
@@DanasDiary. Thank you for the quick response, I really appreciate it❤️ And Oooo I get it, I'm actually transferring into Interior Architecture from a different course that's why it's a little confusing but I'll make sure to ask the course leader, but thank you again lovely🥰xx
im really interested in studying interior design / architecture in uni in the future ( im a freshman in hs ) but i dont think im very good at art. i've never had any experience with art but i'm still quite interested in design. for interior deisgn would you say one needs a good foundation in art? many unis require a portfolio too.. do you have any advice?
also i forgot to include that i dont have experience in interior deisgning too lol. i am just really interested in it. can i still apply in the future?
Hey, I would say that you definitely don’t need to have had experience with Interior Design before, I didn’t and I don’t think most people in my course did. I never really had art before either, so I would say it’s not necessary, if the uni is good they should teach you all the basics anyway. I would say however having a basic understanding of how to draw can come in quite useful. I could do a video of how to do Architectural drawings in the future if you are interested?
I recieved a conditional offer letter from NTU for the same course this year and also from university of Westminster. May I know which one is better in your perspective?
I can't really say that much about Westminster, the only thing I can say that I think it's nice to be in the centre of London, but it might be quite expensive living there. Nottingham is an amazing city to live in, the student live is really really great. The one thing I will say is that my course was quite big in Nottingham and very Architectural (not a lot of Interior Design). I don't know how different the uni in London is to that tho.
@@DanasDiary. thank you for your response! I have finished my bachelor's in architecture and am planning to do masters in interior architecture. So architecture focused is fine for me. Could you tell me how the teaching and do the staff guide the students properly? Thanks again!
@@DanasDiary. could you also tell me about the scope of the course? Are there enough job opportunities? Because am an international student and am quite nervous about spending a lot of money for my masters.
Hey, sorry about my late reply. Alright this might sound a bit bad, but I felt a bit lost at my course at NTU. The course is so big that it was nearly impossible for the tutors to look after each and every one. You might have a different experience tho, especially since you already know a lot more than when I started.
And I can understand that, it’s a lot of money. We had 4 modules. One about architecture and Design history, where we would write essays in, then we had one where we would design spaces and we had another one where we would do Technical drawings. I have a video about the sort of work we did. If you are interested I will put the link down here.
Watching your video for the first time and found it so informative. Love the way you explained everything. I am planning on choosing interior designing as my career. But for the portfolio could you suggest me a few apps to use for digital drawing?
Sara Memon I am glad you found the video so informative ☺️ I mostly use Procreate on my ipad, the drawing I have shown in the video are all drawn by hand tho (I took photos of them). I hope this helps! Thank you for your lovely comment 💕
Thank you for posting this video, it was very helpful. I m applying to the same course at NTU from France but I m having difficulty understanding how to submit my portfolio on the submission form. Emma Cochet you are welcome, I am glad I could help ☺️ I know that you can definitely send them a link to a website so that could work, maybe try it out? I did my portfolio on PowerPoint xx
Hey, did u only write one personal statement for both interior design and interior architecture? If so, towards which course was our personal statement leaning more towards to? Because I am confused if my personal statement mainly focused on interior architecture will be ok to be applied to interior design as well???
I only wrote one personal statement and it was leaning more towards interior architecture but it really doesn't matter as long as you can show that you are interested and passionate about the field. And that`s completely fine don`t worry. My personal statement was mostly on Interior Design but my course now is mostly Architecture
I just have one more question, sorry! How did you submit your portfolio for this course? Did they give you an email to send it to or were you given an account to log into online to submit it there? Just wondering as I haven't received anything in the email telling me where to upload the portfolio :) thank you xx
No worries :) They send you an email after you apply. Each uni has their own website where you need to upload it but no worries they send you instructions per email. Just try and check your emails often, some uni only give you a week to hand in your portfolio once they ask you for one. xx
Thank you for sharing! How did you do your digital image? On what software on computer? This is my first time ever doing anything like this and the same not long to submit but I feel I can self teach if given the right materials! Just looks so hard though xx
sophie roper Thank you for your comment ☺️ Most of the drawings and images shown were actually just drawn on paper and I took pictures of them. Only the last bit was done ob the sims 4 :) I hope this helps, just do baby steps and I am sure you will be fine ☺️ xx
aishita shrivastav hey, what course have you applied to? I have visited Brighton uni and I must say the lectures are very lovely and the uni is a lot smaller which is a plus, but I didn’t like the studios as they were a bit dark and the campus was in the middle of nowhere that’s why I decided on Nottingham Trent.
