      First of all, thank you so much :) For me particularly, I think the case was that I didn't know what I wanted to do with my architectural pieces so they were very underdeveloped; I also think they have a clear agenda of what they think architectural projects should be like, so for people who haven't taken any official archi classes, I just thought it would be nice to stick to what you are familiar with and know you can develop with good ideas :)

    • @glorykuk

      Hey! Thank you for liking the video :)) I think you will have to create your own art projects on the side, and just create pieces out of your own interest and passion. Find things around you that you can document and develop a project statement and why you want to do this project with this theme! Create several art projects, but the most important thing is that you are enjoying them!

    Hello, I know this seems out of the blue, I'm personally still at Year 12 A level Art. I have a question my portfolio, mostly consists of studying architecture and the response of multiple artists were still in development, but What I'm concerned about is that, most people do different themes, and I'm not sure if staying into one theme would achieve me a higher chance of Entering UCL. I'm also as well, (in the near future) adding a lot of physical designs of buildings, after I seen a glimpse into this video, I'm not really sure if my approach of not adding any other themes would guide me to the Dream Uni I always wanted to go. It would appreciated if somebody can help me out! Thank you!

    • @glorykuk
      @glorykuk  2 года назад +2

      Hey El Don! Thank you for watching and your nice compliments :)
      I would say that the most important thing is really to demonstrate your creative thinking process and skills, rather than making the projects seem 'architectural' because it is about the transferrable skills. Although this also depends on the school you are applying for, eg Bartlett focuses on your creativity and thinking, whereas bath might focus on the engineering side, hence they don't require a portfolio at all.
      Hope this helps!

But right now as a grd 10 student, I find it difficult to have good grades this year, I’m predicting a 80-90 averge on most subjects this year, giving my more Bs than As probably… do you think this would put me in a big disadvantage? Is grd10 grades really looked at at UCL? I’m striving for a outstanding portfolio though I have not worked on it yet, but I really wanna know if a average (maybe even a bit low??) grd 10 mark will affect me a lot. What grades did u have grd 10-12? (If u don’t mind me asking)

    Did UCL require a physical portfolio or are digital portfolios accepted.

    • @glorykuk
      @glorykuk  2 года назад +2

      It will depend on covid and admissions now, which I am not sure. When I applied it was all physical but I am not sure now.

      I'm assuming you mean the science magazine poster? It was the first time I did digital art so in hindsight I would not use the software I used, but if you want to know it was firealpaca - hope it helps! :)

    do you think talking about books on architecture in your personal statement is important?

    • @glorykuk
      @glorykuk  2 года назад +2

      if a book genuinely made an impression on you, you can definitely write about it. I was asked about the books I wrote on my PS during my Cambridge interview, but did not talk about them during my Bartlett interview.

    Do you think you can include sold paintings in your portfolio? Because then you wouldn't have them physically with you

    Hey Glory, I loved your video I've rewatched it at least 10 times, you're work and creative ability are so inspiring! I wanted to ask u if including a few physical pieces or even none would put me at a disadvantage, I've done only one physical piece so far related to interior architecture even tho I think the idea behind it is great, i don't really know if they'd hate it cuz its architectural
