    *DISQUALIFICATION!!*
One of our eagle eyed viewers noticed the Alta 1900MMK had a GVWR exceeding 7500lbs. Obviously I overlooked this fact
Meaning we have a change in the rankings!! Graduating from honorable mention to its rightful place on this list we have the Imagine 17MKE!! m.ruclips.net/video/2rdKOcY_1oY/видео.html

Hey Josh! Loving these top 5 list videos. I was wondering if you'd be willing to do a top 5 travel trailers for boondocking. Obviously there's the Embers, but I think it would be interesting to see a list of trailers comparing their solar packages, holding tank capacities, hot/cold packages, off road capabilities, durability etc.

22mls is the one for us. We've been RVing for 20+ years and based on what I've seen in videos, I wouldn't change a thing. At first I 2as thinking table and chairs but that dinette size and storage maybe where we land. I enjoy your videos and truthfulness. You are a huge asset to Bish's and the RV industry. Thank you Josh.

I agree with you Josh. I got my 22Mls this spring and so far even if we did have prior 2 amazing fifth wheel, this trailer track behind a half ton like a charm and the layout for a couple (even for a long trip) is perfect.

Yay for the Cougar MLS. It is a tough model to beat. Theatre seats and a dining table, huge kitchen/counter space and high ceilings in just a 22 foot trailer. It's a winner!

Josh & team, Thanks for continuing to provide a great service to RVers. I really like how you put together these top 5 lists. It seems to be a greatest hits list with something for most everyone (is it better for boondocking? Bed size / murphy, suspension, overall construction, price, towability, logical floorplan…). For me 2205S is probably #1, helped by the Max Power option in ‘23. From afar, the Ember is promising if the sofa is comfy, but counter space is not great in the kitchen or the bath…what they could do with an additional 2’. The 22MLS probably has the best floorplan and it’s my better half’s #1. I’ve been in an inTech Terra and love that it doesn’t have a slide and doesn’t feel too cramped. Looking forward to Hershey.

We have a Rockwood 2205s, 2021 model. That was before they added the solar on the roof and the 12v fridge, otherwise the same. We are loving it. The quality of the build is very good. Love all of the storage space in convenient places. Have been living in it for 6-7 months a year the past two years. We tow with an F 150. Generally no concerns but on long or steep hills there is a little less power than we’d like at times.

Sir, you hit on my top 2 manufacturers here, winnebago and east/west...while i still prefer a door between the bedroom and rest of the camper, and i realize none of these this have it, i do like the fact that the cougar gives both a booth dinette and other seating as well whereas the others do not...not everyone wants to sit at just the dinette, as its hard to relax in one. all in all Sir, very well thought out picks, and very well appreciated by this viewer as well as others i'm sure. Thank You

@@JoshtheRVNerd I Sincerely Thank You Sir, but while I love winnebago for the way they treated my family in the past, they sadly have priced themselves out of this mans pocketbook. No, I believe my next, and at my age, my last rv will indeed be an east/west. They are in my price range, I have found 2 models I am tossing back and forth. Are either perfect, no. Will either work for me, yes. Do i wish east/west offered outside kitchens and sinks, yes. Can I live without one...at 62, I can live without any luxury anymore, haha. East/west has the quality build of more expensive campers but are still at an affordable price even in today's economy. I just need to find out what they use for flooring, as I hate saggy floors a year after buying, and then decide on which one...then make a phone call, then a trip to your home store. Because it wont be east/west that should get the commission, nor the salespeople whom I am sure are great people...no, Sir, after all the great info you put out on a daily basis from not just your home store but from other stores literally across this nation, sacrificing time away from your family to help us, your internet rv family out, the sale should rightfully go to you. Thank You again for the clip on the Winnebago, your time to find and send that is Greatly appreciated by me, Thats for sure.

I love the rear kitchen design on that Cougar 22MLS. It works because the kitchen is NOT the center of the RV. When we’re camping, cooking is not a top priority so having the kitchen out of the way makes more room for lounging and relaxing.
Separately, there is another camper you recently reviewed which I really liked - it’s the MPG 2100RB. It certainly has its weak spots, but overall I think it’s massive bang for the buck… virtually everything is standard equipment, even a king sized bed…

Great summary! After about a month of research you have listed the trailers that I listed (with your help, thanks.) The Alta and the Cougar are too heavy for me, but they are nice rigs. Personally narrowed my search to Rockwood Mini Lite 2109S or Coachman Freedom Express 192RBS or Grand Design Imagine XLS 17 MKE. After this video I will look at the Winnebago 2108 TB as well. I started this journey with an eye on Airstream Caravel or Flying Cloud 23FB, but up front cost cannot be ignored. As soon as I get my trailer back from the shop I will begin the search for a specific model and talk trade, etc. Thanks again!

We’re about to take delivery on a Mini-lite 2507S with a Murphy bed and dinette. We looked at probably a hundred+ models in the past few years and kept coming back to that one. The storage was one of the deciding factors since we plan a few long trips (and my Wife likes to pack for every eventuality!) and it had about the best outdoor kitchen of any model in that size range and outdoor cooking is big for us. We also wanted a good sized dinette as well as decent day seating and it gives us both.

Second comment… Noticed your screen name. My uncle retired from Argon, assuming that is the source for your name.

Alta 1900MMK and Cougar 22MLS are in my top favorites as we are shopping for our first RV. Others on my list are two of your honorable mentions Grand Designs 17MKE and 22MLE (my two favorite layouts in almost anyone who does them. The counter space gets me every time.) I also like the Grand Design Transcend Xplor 200MK (w theater seats) even though I kind of don't like how limited the seating is, it has that counter with the spot for the coffeemaker. LOL My honorable mention would not be actually fair, since it's actually a 2023 model...and I know you have said you have a video coming out on it. The Jayco Jay Feather 21MML. You did a little overview on it in your SNEAK PEEK at Jayco's 2023 Travel Trailers and Fifth Wheels video. I am in love with that thing and cannot wait to get to actually see one in person. Thanks for doing this one, I really enjoyed it! These are my favorites as I am wanting to be able to get into pretty much any park and tow with something that isn't terrible as a daily driver. Again, great video, and thanks for doing these compilations!

Cougars for me are just a little bit heavier...is that often true when they are similar floor plans or am I making that up? ...And the cost just is not worth it for me for what I would use an RV for...if that makes sense. Hi Josh, I've been watching your videos since June 2020 when our family (wife, daughter, now 12 & son, now 10) first considered purchasing a travel trailer. We live in the metro-west suburbs of Boston, Massachusetts. Hands down you produce the highest quality, best reviews, with down to earth, and forthright commentary of all "RV Informational" RUclips videos! If there was an "Annual RV Informational Video" award; you would be one of the most competitive producers/editers/narrators to win the awards each year! Your videos helped us immensely! We decided to purchase a Forest River Division "Prime Time Manufacturing" (Wakarusa, Indiana) 2022 "Avenger 26BK" (thirty foot total length with no slide out) travel trailer on July 16 from a popular regional RV Dealership in Saratoga, NY. We picked it up on Friday, Aug 5 and immediately pulled it 10 hours to Kelley's Island (Ohio State Park campground on Lake Erie) near Sandusky, Ohio. It was a phenomenal experience camping with a travel trailer compared to tent camping that we had done for years! We strongly considered driving to Coldwater, Michigan bc of your videos and your down to earth way of presenting information to consumers! I received a text message from Matt in July at Bish's RV Coldwater on a 2022 Forest River Grey Wolf 26DBH Black Label Version. For your annual "5,000 lbs to 7,500lbs" trailer top 5 list for families, would strongly recommend the Forest River Prime Time "Avenger" 26BK. Price point of $23,000 - $29,000 brand new. It is conventional construction with 2x2 woof studs and aluminum siding. Lots of features; outdoor kitchen with sink connected to drain, camp queen walk around bed with a real privacy wall & sliding door, sofa, large sink (so much better than the dual sinks), 12 volt EverChill refrigerator, full size bunks, bathroom sink located just on the other side of door where toilet/shower located (helps when kids are in shower and parents need the sink!), a large pass-thru storage area, and lots of cabinets. Enjoy watching a new up to date video review of travel trailers designed for families looking for entry level (GVWR weight less than 8,000lbs, solid features, & reasonable 'out the door price' less than $29,000) camping trailers. I think in today's increasing inflation economy; families would consider travel trailers with the right price point for a solid trailer. We decided that would sacrifice having a slide out to reduce final cost price and keep the trailer simple. Keep up the great work! Truly enjoy watching your "RV Informational" videos! You have a true gift of making down-to-earth RV review videos! - Kevin Kavanagh, Maynard, Massachusetts.

I love the Cougars except that (to me) they totally drop the ball in the bedroom area. A king bed is a waste of space that takes up valuable floor area. And no good dresser storage. If you move up to their light 5th wheels, they address both of those issues.

You know I wish they did either make that front window over the bed open or make an excape hatch on small trailers that have the bed in the front and the door in the back. I’d die because I wouldn’t be able to climb out those windows. They need another door in the front for safety. More older people buy couples campers and we are the ones that can’t climb out

Love the Rockstaff Mini/Micro Lite lines, so it's hard to argue with the 2205S...but you said the that the double Azdel and included TPMS "raised it above the crowd". However, the Ember 201FBQ has those both of those things too. I do like the theater seats in the 2205S, but personally I'd lean to the off-pavement suspension in the Embers. If Embers were not an option, and while the 2205S is an excellent option, I think my choice for Couple's models in the Rockstaff line would be the 2513S...but it's probably a few lbs over your 7,500 lbs maximum (although their website currently doesn't show the weights of the 2023 models yet...guess we'll have to wait for the Rockstaff catalogues to come out in NOVEMBER! 😡)

As a resident of CO, I'm always looking to get off pavement onto unimproved Forest Service or BLM roads, so if Rockstaff offered the Curt suspension system as an option in their Mini/Micro Lite lines (basically what NoBo is doing in the 2023 lineup), it would make the decision MUCH harder. But for now, the Curt suspension system along with the EmberTrack option and their build quality/level make Ember hard to choose against.
