I guess the good thing with my ebay "career" is I have probably at least five years or more of inventory. How? My parents were huge collectors of so so much stuff, especially antiques and collectibles. When dad passed in 2023 I inherited everything. It's been a huge battle trying to get over the loss and other things especially depression so my struggles with maintaining my ebaying has been super hard. I'm managing. But going through all this stuff is crazy. I have a booth at the local Antique Mall as well. Plus I have an on call job that keeps me busy sometimes as well. I fell off the wagon a few months ago as I suffered another bad loss in my life, but I'm trying to get back into things again. My goal is to sell everything and make enough money where I can retire from all the fun. I have no plans on getting more inventory because between my folks' stuff and my own I think I'm good haha...thanks for the amazing videos I subscribed because it's always great to get some good tips and ideas! Never stop learning or improving! Thanks!
RUclips recommended this video to me. I subscribed and have watched 5 other videos as well. Left likes of course. My least favorite part of eBay reselling is packing and shipping larger items. The points you made here are spot on. Looking forward to future videos. Have a prosperous rest of Q4 and into 2025 Sir.
No offense, but this is the easiest thing I've ever done. I'm running a ebay store with $14,000 90 day currently and that's on top of working a full time job delivering and installing appliances. Been reselling about a year now , so I've got alot to learn of course. Only issue I see is getting enough product , but it's not too bad. At any rate I appreciate your video , and good luck everyone!
Thanks for your interest! I picked my name YboYbo when I created my account back in 2002 and I had no idea that I would be using eBay so much to sell. Otherwise I would have picked a better name! Eric www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?item=145800108927&rt=nc&_trksid=p4429486.m3561.l161211&_ssn=yboybo
I have to agree with you being a smaller seller isn't easy. I try to do the two day hump, two days are only ebay put extra in drafts on the third day is when I cook and clean the house. Ebay storage, inventory, new products coming in all has to be put somewhere. It has taken over our house. I don't get out and hustle to find stuff the way I used to. I run ebay, mercai, and posh. Sometimes, it is overwhelming and it feels like if one brick falls the whole thing will tumble over.
It is a mental challenge as you suggest and finding the right balance of time and systems to not have that overwhelmed feeling is not always easy. Good luck keeping all the bricks in place!
Well said, thanks for sharing. These are also a lot of the reasons I like reselling. Though I’ve only been FT about a year. I enjoy it, but it’s definitely a grind.
I started selling on Ebay when the site first started. For about 12 years I did pretty good. I even considered quitting my job and selling full time. Then as stated, lots of other people got into selling on Ebay. I quit selling for about 6 years. I now sell a few thing here and there. One difference between now and then is getting shipping boxes and packing materials. I retired from a big airplane company about 4 years ago, while working there I could get all the boxes and bubble wrap I wanted. The only thing I had to buy was tape and shipping labels. I have a seller rating of over 21,000 with 0 negatives. I am proud of that.
@@FindIt-SellIt-TellIt-md8prI’ve been at it on and off since 1999. The good old days of listing an LP for 99 cents and $10 shipping. We’d only get charged for the 99 cent sale. eBay certainly has caught up with that!
I have the opposite I have lots of inventory & currently have 5300+ items listed I have 70% free inventory & I shop at one local thrift store & one antique store. I havent been to a Goodwill in a few years.
Thats excellent! I should learn more about antiques to broaden my sourcing ability. They are more uncomfortable for me though since unlike electronics with clear branding and model numbers, antiques are tougher to value standing in a store aisle.
I had the same talk with my dad. I started selling on ebay during lockdown as a hobby, and I enjoyed it. Still do. My dad thought it must be easy. I sat him down and told him about having to take good quality photos of your item. Then the listings. What brand it is etc. Adding a description of the item you're selling. The ONE thing that put him off is connecting a Paypal account to his bank, so he can transfer his earning over from Ebay. He was like: "Well, sod that!!"
Indeed, the concept of reselling is simple “buy stuff at low price and sell on ebay” but there are a ton details hidden in that statement. Really, anything is like that though. Simple in concept more complex in execution - but it does get easier and streamlined as you gain experience.
Good for you not being reliant on them. They still make up the majority of my sourcing with estate sales being next and then large church or organization sales. Where do you mostly source from?
It’s just not worth it to go to flea markets and estate sales just to buy inventory for eBay . Getting a regular job is easier to make money . Only sell when you happen to come across something worth selling . If you go hunting just to find good deals on things you can flip , you won’t find good deals . Good deals happen by accident
I hardly go shopping I have created a network that gets me 70% of my inventory for free. I just focus on building my pre-listing banks - shipping daily at 3 pm.
Ha! This week isnt bad - but the first part of last week was frustrating until the holiday shopping kicked in on Friday. Just dont want people to think all reselling is fun like sourcing and finding great items is. If you know the downsides going in they can be managed better.
No tears, man! Just showcasing the reality instead of the "super fun sparkle" side. Many, after starting reselling are surprised to learn that it takes work. Saving some folks some time with a does of reality. Or least that is my hope! Merry Christmas!

None taken! It is an easy thing to do - especially compared to installing appliances. It just isnt always fun like anything.

I want to be even smaller scale selling around 1K in revenue a month. Just some supplemental income.
Are you the voice of YT channel “Cinema Sins”
So true! Not negative - just reality ! I like your take on things. Thanks for the reality check.
Thank you! I appreciate that!
Great observations!

I’ve been reselling since the 90s. I don’t consider other resellers as competition because I go behind them and I still find stuff.
Thats a ton experience! I have no doubt your depth of knowledge allows you to see gold that others cant see. One day I hope to be there too!
For legal purposes, you were not driving :)
I usually work on my dancing and singing when buying and listing. Enjoy it, God bless!
Singing and dancing makes everything better!
Awesome video man
thanks - I appreciate that!

Glad it was helpful - I enjoy the grind too!

You’ve seen the site go through a lot of changes!

@@FindIt-SellIt-TellIt-md8pr Well my dad has lazyitis too, which doesn't help.
Facts!
I don't bother with trips to thrift stores unless I'm headed someplace else on the way and I got time to stop.

@@FindIt-SellIt-TellIt-md8pr Mostly business liquidation and estate auctions.

Give me working from home with my wife, over the idiots I've worked with for the previous 33 years.
There is much freedom in reselling for certain.
That's life dude. Chore after chore after chore after chore after chore...............
✌️👍 all true common sense wisdom.
I hardly go shopping I have created a network that gets me 70% of my inventory for free. I just focus on building my pre-listing banks - shipping daily at 3 pm.
Most excellent! I am trying to build to that. Only get a small portion from my network. One day!
You must be having a bad week?
Ha! This week isnt bad - but the first part of last week was frustrating until the holiday shopping kicked in on Friday. Just dont want people to think all reselling is fun like sourcing and finding great items is. If you know the downsides going in they can be managed better.
they usually put stuff out good part of the day ( thrift) if i dont get it it wasn't meant for me lol i dont give a shyte lmfao
That is a healthy way to handle the hustle
All these resellers make these videos to try and scare you from reselling lol.
Not that at all! I actually have a vid encouraging people to resell and how only $100 profit a month can help you crush your debt. 🙂
hello from the uk
Hello from the Pacific NW, US!
I wish you success but I'm not betting on it. Your content is too negative. good luck dude
I am trying to be realistic, but I do appreciate the sentiment!
Stop crying. I work 60 hours a week and then come home and do ebay. Haven't slept more than 4 hours in months. I fn love it!

@FindIt-SellIt-TellIt-md8pr nope, you are just crying. Man up and do your job
