So, starting by the premise that I do not mean to offend anyone by expressing my opinion, but I really don't agree with this list (except for the last reason). To me this ride is okay. Not bad but not amazing either. I'm a Disneyland Paris annual passholder and we have Stitch Live, which is just as dumb and way more boring (no amazing Stitch animatronic, which I believe deserved to be praised in this video). Still I love going to the main park. I love that huggy joyful Disney feeling it gives you as you enter, because you know that feeling like a kid again is what Disney's Magic Kingdom parks are about. You make goo goo eyes, laugh and cry happy tears and marvel at things the way a kids would. If I knew that such a happy innocent place would host a ride such as ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter, I'd feel unsettled by the sole presence of it and I'd have a very hard time letting loose my inner child, for I'd know the magic of the park would be overshadowed by that only, extremely scary and gory ride. Don't get me wrong, I think Alien Encounter is a brilliant and very thrilling attraction, but to me it doesn't fit in any Magic Kingdom park because of its dark nature. That's exactly what I feel about those horrifyingly disturbing scare mazes at Hong Kong Disneyland too. As for Stitch himself, yeah, he can be an awkward presence at times, I'm slightly annoyed at how he also invaded the Tiki Room at Tokyo, but at least he's a very joyful and energetic character. I believe that, in the ride, he behaved exactly the way he did at the beginning of the movie, when insulting the aliens and tricking the machines before breaking out. Also let's not forget that, in the movie, he was about to blast a frog, punch Nani in the face, he even hit some dude with a beach ball, a dog with a slushie cup and so on. Luckily he wasn't in the mood for doing the same to guests in the ride :)
I’m going to be honest, the show portion of Stitch’s Great Escape scared me in real life. However though, I loved the preshows, even the second one was my favorite! Because of Skippy and the Donut Guy. If Stitch’s Great Escape was still here, I’d make a few edits. No restraints, add ground lights when the power is cut, like at Tough To Be A Bug, and instead Stitch would steal someone’s churro, and burp the cinnamon in our face instead.
As a kid, I LOVED Stitch's Great Escape! I thankfully got to go on it just before it closed down, and it was just as fun and adventurous as I remembered it being as a child. It's not the most well thought out Disney attraction, but I have fond memories of it! Great video, though!
"Strap yourselves in for Disney's most [belch] experience" LOL. I know Disney was trying to imply that this attraction "stunk" in the literal sense, but I wouldn't be surprised if the people behind that ad were also trying to imply that they thought just as much as their guests that it "stunk" just as much, if not more, in the figurative sense... XD
I hated Alien Encounter and loved Stitches Great Escape! I was so sad that it is just a character meet and greet spot now...but I am known to having an opinion that doesn't go with others
I remember foggy memories of coming to this ride. I was really scared and uncomfortable for the duration of the ride, for some reason. That was an interesting experience.
I remember my mom taking me to here when we visited Disney, I wasn't scared but honestly its the only thing I can remember from being at Disney, maybe cause we couldn't get into anything else XD
I would say that the city motif of tomorrowland wasn't lost with stitch and the other attractions. They just changed to different places. Stitch turned into a police station, monster's Inc became a comedy club, and buzz lightyear is is the department of defense. Minus the last one, those are also things found in a city so I would argue the motif is still there
That is a wonderfully thoughtful analysis. In addition to updates/changes I love how Space Mountain strengthened its role as Starport Seven-Five operating as a transit center. I wonder what role the coming Tron coaster may perform by its side? A clean sleek high-tech motorsports arena?
DisneyfanBeckers exactly! Just as lightcycles were mindless entertainment for the programs in TRON legacy, so are they in Tomorrowland. My only hope for the coaster though is that it somehow gets a set of Daft Punk Animatronics...
My little brother has Autism and Stitch’s Great Escape was one of the only rides he would ride when we went in 2014. It was his absolute favorite. We rode that ride like four or five times while we we’re there. When we went back in 2016 he was SUPER sad that it had closed. Stitch was his favorite Disney character. 😭😭😭😭😭😭
I LOVED THE GREAT ESCAPE AND STILL DO! It was one of my top ten BEST and FAVORITE ride HE IS SO CUTE:> I HATE that they closed it because it was really funny and I miss it as a child
I really do love the character of Stitch & the animatronic I have to admit was impressive, but the attraction was a big meh to me I do love & miss Alien Encounter, but that dismantled Stitch would've made an awesome display for a store I would love it if Disney made merch of it & it does remind me of the Steampunk Stitch pin that Disney released a while back.
I never got to experience stitch’s great escape or the one before but I feel like they should create another stitch attraction showing the cute cuddly character that we all love and not the one that they showed. Maybe with us flying through space with him or something :/
I remember my mom going on the alien encounter ride when I was younger. She told me about it to try and convince me it was too scary. It only made me want to go on it more. I looked forward to the day I would be big enough to ride. Sadly I never got the chance. I hope it was as scary and awesome as I imagined it to be.
I remember riding this as a kid around 8. I got scared by this (something about having unknown things touch me in the dark, I think). I guess it now makes sense why I got scared, it used to be a horror attraction.
I don’t know about you guys but I was obsessed with lilo & stitch and every time I would go to Disney land it would make me smile and giggle every time I saw stitch and the the people around me laugh and scream. This ride brought joy to me every time
My first trip to Disney world was my freshman year. My friend was with me, and Stitch’s great escape was the first ride that she wanted to take me on, as it was one of her favorites. I loved it, I really did. Call it a cheap follow up, but it holds a special place in my heart as my first taste of the happiest place on earth ❤️
I went on Stitches Great Escape when I was about 6 or 7 (and it was the only time) and that was the best time for me to go on because I was really into Lilo and Stitch and I was the perfect age for the ride. So this ride holds a very special place in my heart and it always will.
@@StarMan881Gaming My mom is wheelchair bound so we had to go through the handicap entrance. However someone grabbed me and pulled me through the normal entrance. They made me ride the ride with them untill my uncle noticed I was gone and got me back.
Even though I was still young and have ridden Stitch's Great Escape ride, I would LOVE to have the EXtraterrestrial: Alien Encounter. Such a bold move for Disney to have such a scary ride intended for teens. Plus, it looked cool as hell. A huge juxtaposition from the usually kid-friendly rides nearby. Ah, well. Here's to waiting for the Defunctland project to experience it!
I think there should be a more adult theme park, with scary attractions and insane rides which could include things like what Disney used to have (Alien Encounter). As I am young, I never had the chance to see Alien Encounter, and I find that very sad as it seems like something I’ll never get to experience.. I’d definitely go to a theme park with frightening attractions in it.
I just vaguely remember this ride from my first time at Disney World as a little kid. I cannot recall my personal reaction myself, but my parents did say I enjoyed it greatly. I think the atmospheric touch and the theme of it all really got me going. I really love Stitch as a character! I am now really disappointed that this ride was shut down, even though I can see how some parents would disapprove of it and children would be a little frightened. This ride really had something different to offer, that's why I love "It's Tough To Be A Bug" in Animal Kingdom. Hopefully the Disney corporation does recreate a Lilo And Stitch attraction in the near future!
Disney's done good Stitch attractions overseas (see the Asian parks for some examples). Stitch's Great Escape was just so horribly executed that it scared Disney away from the idea of doing anything else with him in the American parks.
I absolutely loved stitch's great escape as a kid, we got to go to Disney I would want to ride it. And I actually got to ride it one last time in 2017 right before they closed it. For me when I was a kid the ride was more of a spectacle, it was just amazing to be that close to the animatronics, seeing all the different parts in play, and the 5D immersion of the ride, and it was just a bonus to see one of my favorite characters attached to it. I grew up to work in the film industry and attribute some of my early childhood interest in the behind the scenes work to that attraction
my family and I made the horrible mistake of going on this ride when we were on our first Disney world trip. my dad said that it was like trying to wrestle an amusement park ride while in restraints, but there was a coincidence because at the end, it said to keep an eye out for stitch, and he was just outside the exit when we got off.
I went there twice... it was a bit scary the first time, but it was pretty funny hearing Stitch say those things.... glad I never saw the previous one. It's even scarier then how it was described in "Mystery at Disney World" (which is a really good mystery story)
Alien Encounter was the highlight of our family Disney trip in 2002. We didnt even know the ride was in the park, we just stumbled across it and had no idea what the ride was about. We just joined the queue. The ages of myself, brother and sister were 13 12 and 8. We all loved it. Went back a few years later and was so angry that they had replaced it with Stitch. Not because i dont like Stitch, he is actually one of my favourite characters but because they got rid of such an amazing and thrilling ride for something that was just plain bad. Going back in 3 weeks and wish Alien Encounter was still there :(
When this ride was Alien Encounter, I was 13 yrs old when I went on the ride with my family at Disney World. My sister is a bigger girl and her chair malfunctioned. She ended up pushed down her seat by the safety harness and it almost injured her. We couldn’t get the attention of any of the cast either right before it was started.
I personally never went on the ride. But I went to Disney World with my family before it closed. Me and my brother were walking around and saw the building. There was nobody in the queue, so I honestly thought the ride was closed. Then I got home and got into learning about the history of attractions, animatronics, and rides in Disney parks and saw Yesterworld’s video on the ride. I know it wasn’t very popular, but I wish I had gone on the ride, if only to see the incredible animatronics in the ride. Edit: spelling and grammar
It makes me sad that Stitch has slowly been getting less and less attention and representation in Disney Parks and Disney in general. He is probably my favorite Disney character.

I remember foggy memories of coming to this ride. I was really scared and uncomfortable for the duration of the ride, for some reason. That was an interesting experience.
I love the stitch ride it kinda reminds me on Saturday when I drink to much coffee 😂
I love stitch he is my favorit DISNEY carictor.💖🏅
Diseny did purchase Fox, which means they do officially own the Xenomorph now...
*IN THE JUNGLE THE MIGHTY JUNGLE-*
Fffffffffffeeeeeeeeeckkkkk
I remember going on there when I was 8 , So many kids where crying.
That destroyed Stitch animitronic is the scariest thing I have seen in a while.
Expectation: Alien encounter
Reality: Stitches great escape
LOL
I LOVED THE GREAT ESCAPE AND STILL DO! It was one of my top ten BEST and FAVORITE ride HE IS SO CUTE:> I HATE that they closed it because it was really funny and I miss it as a child
Sorry to say but I want to steal the stitch animatronic
Walter’s World!!! Good luck going through Disney’s security then!
brenqle nope. Can you please explain it?
Walter’s World!!! Aren’t you the new meme Big Chungus?
Walter’s World!!! And do what? Restore the animatronic?
@@chucke.cheesesmichiganprod1254 i will just keep it... BIG CHUNGUS
I appreciate how you’re not biased when you’re discussing this ride.
Ya I love stitch he’s my favorite I want a new stitch something
😉
I loved the stitch ride! Especially when the seats moved!
No it isn't
I went to that attraction when I was younger, and I actually liked it. I still remember the smell of stitch's burp lol
Awesome goatz me too. It was seven years ago
I don’t know about you guys but I was obsessed with lilo & stitch and every time I would go to Disney land it would make me smile and giggle every time I saw stitch and the the people around me laugh and scream. This ride brought joy to me every time
But now that it’s closed for good I hope they bring another but different stitch ride that could bring joy to every one
Hey nice video! Thanks for putting your time into them!
When I saw the thumbnail I thought it was a fire disaster
When I was a kid, it really piss*d me off especially when he spit on me and yes I hated that ride and I am glad it is gone. 🥳
Ooo, I hope you cover Super Star Limo!
Oh God, I remember this ride. It scared the crap out of me as a kid.
I remember having a mental breakdown on the stitch ride. Just so everyone knows I was four and it was 2011.
When I went on it a few years ago, I didn't ever think it'd ever be canceled..
I love stitch he is the nest he taught me how to speak like him!!!!!
Stitch is my favorite Disney character and its a shame this happened
Ikr
i loved that ride
My parents took me on this as a kid and I cried the whole time and had nightmares afterwards
I love the new intro! Is this a series now dedicated to Disney disasters at the park? If so, can you talk about the DISASTER that is the original DCA?
I went on Stitches Great Escape when I was about 6 or 7 (and it was the only time) and that was the best time for me to go on because I was really into Lilo and Stitch and I was the perfect age for the ride. So this ride holds a very special place in my heart and it always will.
Fun fact I was almost kidnapped on this ride
Lily In the sky full of diamonds - Uh Huh. Yep. I bet. 🙄
O god
How?
@@StarMan881Gaming My mom is wheelchair bound so we had to go through the handicap entrance. However someone grabbed me and pulled me through the normal entrance. They made me ride the ride with them untill my uncle noticed I was gone and got me back.
Lily In the sky full of diamonds dang
Even though I was still young and have ridden Stitch's Great Escape ride, I would LOVE to have the EXtraterrestrial: Alien Encounter. Such a bold move for Disney to have such a scary ride intended for teens. Plus, it looked cool as hell. A huge juxtaposition from the usually kid-friendly rides nearby.
Ah, well. Here's to waiting for the Defunctland project to experience it!
Shouldve just kept extraterrorestriel
I loved this ride so Its really sad seeing it destroyed
I was so upset when I learned about that :(
This ride will always hold a special place in my hear because it was the very first attraction I went on at the park.
So go to Universal down the road. Less crowds for those of us who appreciate Disney
I thought stitches great escape was awsome
I absolutely loved stitch's great escape as a kid, we got to go to Disney I would want to ride it. And I actually got to ride it one last time in 2017 right before they closed it. For me when I was a kid the ride was more of a spectacle, it was just amazing to be that close to the animatronics, seeing all the different parts in play, and the 5D immersion of the ride, and it was just a bonus to see one of my favorite characters attached to it. I grew up to work in the film industry and attribute some of my early childhood interest in the behind the scenes work to that attraction
I'm a scardy cat so I never went. Oof
my family and I made the horrible mistake of going on this ride when we were on our first Disney world trip. my dad said that it was like trying to wrestle an amusement park ride while in restraints, but there was a coincidence because at the end, it said to keep an eye out for stitch, and he was just outside the exit when we got off.
Going back in 3 weeks and wish Alien Encounter was still there :(
My brother and I were very young when we went on this ride. We were scared but we still loved the ride.
This was my favorite ride as a kid because of how much i loved the movie
When this ride was Alien Encounter, I was 13 yrs old when I went on the ride with my family at Disney World. My sister is a bigger girl and her chair malfunctioned. She ended up pushed down her seat by the safety harness and it almost injured her. We couldn’t get the attention of any of the cast either right before it was started.
Stitch great escape is the most dark ride i ever seen in my life went I was young 8/10
I guess you can say....
Stitch got the intergalactic death penalty
I personally never went on the ride. But I went to Disney World with my family before it closed. Me and my brother were walking around and saw the building. There was nobody in the queue, so I honestly thought the ride was closed. Then I got home and got into learning about the history of attractions, animatronics, and rides in Disney parks and saw Yesterworld’s video on the ride. I know it wasn’t very popular, but I wish I had gone on the ride, if only to see the incredible animatronics in the ride.
