Congrats and best wishes! A pen designed by Nino Marino is very special indeed, no matter the brand! One aspect of the pen that I like is that the colors are the same as my favorite hockey club, The Philadelphia Flyers!!! Thanks for the wonderful review, Doug!!!
Congratulations on receiving such a stunning work of art as a gift! As for me, well, I guess I'm just wrong. The pen is MUCH to ostentatious for my tastes, and I'd never be able to afford it anyway, so it's a moot point. But it's great to see you so delighted with it! I wish you many, many joyous hours of writing with your DV2.0!
Nino is one cool and generous guy! What can I say that you haven’t already said? That iconic orange and piano black color combo is gorgeous. That pen just gives me “the vapors”!😂. Great review.
What a pen! A #8 nib would have made it even more appealing, along with a screw-in nib unit, but that's nitpicking. Kudos to Nino Marino! And thanks for the review Doug! Wish I could afford it, as I would have bought it in a heartbeat!
What a beautiful pen. I have the Maiora Mytho Origine. Let's say the not so expensive version of the DV 2.0. Since the Delta pen is way out of my league, I will have to settle for the Maiora. After all they share the same DNA. Great and emotional review. Congrats.
Dough now that you did an entire review and spent time writing with the DV 2.0, I am happy that you liked it. I completely resonate the feeling, it is the same with my DV 2.0 premiere. These are definitely for keeps. Hopefully we will see more glimpses of it in comparisons in upcoming videos.
Thanks for the review! I've been looking for reviews of this 2.0 Dolce Vita, which have been surprisingly scarce on RUclips. Happy to hear it's made you so happy.
It’s a stunner. I bought a Dolce Vita Federico years ago, not long before Delta left the scene. I got a gold nib for it and I really love the pen. Glad this pen is back!!
That is a gorgeous pen, Doug. I passed on these over the years, but since they've been brought back, I may have to finally add one to my collection. Incredible looking and it looks to be a great writer as well. I see Appelboom has them in stock. Congrats on getting one! Cheers.
The ink in your title card is really lovely. It looks like Noodler's Liberty Elysium, but maybe deeper? Anyway, great review and your testing process is so so pleasing!
My favorite part is the thick grip section. I'm wondering if they'll bring back the number 8 nib oversize model. I was eyeing the Premiere, because I Iike cartridge converters, but I really think the number 8 suits this pen better.
Dear Sir, You are a great Fountain Pen reviewer. Your way of presentation attracts me. Specially little video shorts really supplements with your videos. Thank you so much for coming up with your honest reviews. Hope to learn more from you always.. Stay safe and healthy. Warm regards, Vivek Kumar ( Dehri On Sone, Bihar, India )
It is an iconic pen from an iconic manufacturer. That you cannot unscrew the section is a hindrance, but so is the same with the Leonardo Momento Zero Grande and I am not kicking that pen to the curb. I have a number of pens from Delta during its original interation (though only ballpoints) but never a Dolce Vita model. I do have a Nettuno fountain pen made when Delta took over the company, though. This pen is gorgeous! Time to save some more sheckles for this luscious pen. Great heart palpitating review, Doug.
What a wonderful fountain pen the DV 2.0 is. But you are right. The no. 6 sized nib is a bit small. That saying, I am looking at your review and filled out a little Sudoku on the side with the older original Dolce Vita Oversize with a stuby no. 8 sized nib. I inked that up before watching your video to celebrate that gorgeous and genius man from Italy - Nino Marino... ...and you of course =)
Doug, I know how you feel. I received a gift of a special pen, which is my favorite (until death do I part from that pen, and if heaven includes writing with pens, I would hope to find it there waiting. If I ever purchase another expensive pen, the Dolce Vita 2.0 would probably be my choice, as I have searched and searched fro good used ones, but have had no success. :)
Ok this is my new grail pen. I’m always looking for bigger, thicker pens because I’ve got arthritis and essential tremors, making writing and drawing (I’m a retired cartoonist and illustrator) very difficult. It’s easier to use thicker pens. I think I’m in love….
I'm still jealous and even my shrink can't do anything about it. Enjoy this beautiful, stunning masterpiece every minute you're using it. Maybe, just maybe I might one day go for its "little brother" which fits much better to my narrow pockets. But I recognized, all fountain pen gods spit recently over your shoulder. 2 great Pineider FP's and now this high end DV 2. You must have done something very well.
@@InkquiringMinds Doug, your latest revelation saved me from having to visit my dominatrix this month. The money saved can now be invested in a Delta and/or a Pineider fountain pen. Thanks for your help, you made my day. 🤣
I love this pen -- except I want it in a different color. Clearly the 14k piston filler is the option to take. However, I just received the "poor man's" version of this pen, the Fountain Pen Revolution Tanoshii (stop gagging!). Made in Japan, and its nice quality. Buy one get one free special. Thi si an expensive pen, but as you mentioned, a better value than Montblanc. This has more swank status without the brand snobbery of the latter. As usual, your observations are insightful - the laser etching issues in the nib for one thing, which I never would have though could be a problem. Looks to be a modern masterpiece. Another excellent review!
I was not impressed by my professor's Dolce Vita because it was a cartridge convertor when today, TWSBI provides affordable piston fillers for ~$30. Chinese company piston fillers are even cheaper, and Jinhao and Moonman make the identical acryclic pattern pens for ~$20. Also DV's nib is disproportionately small. The Visconti Homo Sapiens offers so much more in comparison. Maybe this is why Delta went bankrupt. At-least Delta has fixed one problem although a bulk filler system would have made it irresistible IMHO.

That one is a beauty!
How beautiful. Your video made me decide to purchase it. I can imagine that my heart will always be cheerful when I use this pen.
Wonderful!
When you squeeed over the posting I giggled .. yup a true pen nerd.... thank you Doug! This is definitely on my wish list...
My pleasure!
In the earlier video for the unboxing I told Doug that I nearly summoned the crash team as I thought we were about to lose him!! 🤣🤣
@konradyearwood5845 I know right? The reaction was priceless.
I have a couple of Dolce Vita's and I like the cap without the medallion, the new clip also looks a little nicer.

Great review, beautiful pen. Love the orange and black combo and the blind cap is a great design feature.

It may be the thickest section I've experienced.
What stunning looking pen Doug your a lucky chap.I am fortunate enough to own a original Delta dolce vita federico & I’ll take it to my grave.
From what I've seen, that one is a true classic!

Feel like your pen collection went from modest to holy shit since this channel started. Nino sure hooked you up here!
No kidding!

@@InkquiringMinds I was dead wrong. Pen Chalet has this in Lapis Lazuli. Not 14k nib, but so what? Oh lord the temptation....
Yes, I succumbed. The Lapis version arrived today. I now understand all the fuss - spectacular, even with a steel nib and converter.
It's quite something!
Some stores are selling this as an eyedropper, not so sure about it though...
Not this version.

Fair points, but manufacturing in China vs Italy is way different. There’s also concerns about Chinese worker welfare
At 10:44 the feed looks veery misaligned. At this price they could've used an ebonite feed. Steel nib version seems like a more reasonable buy to me.
Nino is a real mensch.
I don't think that cap band is hand carved - it appears to have been cast.
It is cast FROM a hand carving.
@@InkquiringMinds Wax is a lot easier to hand carve than metal ;-)
Goodness me sir! Nearly, very nearly as beautiful as your Chinese pens.
Almost!
looks like a Mountblanc Heminway copycat, or inspired ... ?
Not at all. Inspired by vintage Italian pens.
@@InkquiringMinds but i believe the Heminway came first, right? they both look similar really.
