Use a deck of players cards and place them around the edge between the frame and mirror. If they are loose and slip out, Fold the edge before
Love it
Distressing looks great.
Thanks so much!
Hi thank you
May I ask how long we need to leave to dry between every cost please?
Nice job
You didn’t seal with clear wax in the end as far as I can see. IMO it gives a nicer and more elegant finish.
You’re correct, I didn’t! I’m not a big fan of the look of wax as a sealant (typically I use a polyurethane), but since this is a decorative piece and won’t get any wear and tear, I left it unsealed to maintain the opaque, matte look☺️
I found this video very helpful. I am doing a set of large mirrors but find the paint is streaking. Perhaps i should squirt the brush to do lighter coats I am using fusion mineral paint in picket fence color and now think I will distress it also. Did you seal it,add a hardener (matte or gloss?)
I’m so glad you found it helpful! With fusion I would recommend not adding water as that will thin the consistency even more- Picket Fence is such a bright white that it typically requires more coats of paint than most of the other colours in their line (if painting over a dark colour, 4-5 coats isn’t uncommon!). To ensure you get a smooth finish when building up the thin coats, make sure you sand lightly with high grit sandpaper (220+) in between each coat ☺️
