When that kind of heat kicks in; a different kind of panic rolls in. It's like mushrooms hitting hard thirty minutes early, while you're in line at the dollar general buying cans of smoked oysters, and you still have to drive ten minutes home in a snowstorm. Actually, it's really nothing like that.
Can you imagine going on a date with her? You think she's gorgeous, great personality, amazing person - then she takes you to her favorite restaurant.......
@@BETTALIFE101 have you seen the quantity of ghost pepper flakes she put on those noodles? it's not "chinese spice" it's ghost pepper one of the hottest pepper in the world in powder form. put a just a tiny spoon of this in your ramen bowl and eat the whole thing and then we'll talk.
What an experience! I recently discovered Esther Choi (through Uncle Roger, who I also discovered recently lol) and I'm loving all her content and skills as a chef, her being just natural and her "zero-waste" cooking tips. With that said, I MUST try Jon's habanero-limequat salsa!!! What a way to represent SoCal Chinese food. As someone who loves spicy food and grew up with a love for incredible Tijuana-Chinese food (and Mexicali-Chinese) in a half Mexican-half Chinese neighborhood, I NEED to try all these places in San Gabriel Valley! Thank you for this content!
I love the Esther vids when she makes them feel the heat!! I have had more issues with jalapenos than I have habanero's over the last several years and not sure why.
Ok. I have health issues, but I like the heat. It's hard for me to separate too much heat vs too much salt at the same time. More power to those who can. Esther is a brilliant gem.
Trauma Bonding is basically the not so secret theme of Hot Ones. It's actually ingenious! Sean basically artificially manufactured himself onto celebrities short lists of people they can "be themselves" with because they've already acted a fool with him and willingly answered personal questions to!
Ich kann es einfach nicht glauben das sind die glücklichsten Momente meines letzten Lebens oder meiner letzten fünf Lebensjahre sagen wir das so danke schön
My family hails from both the East and West sides of the world. Filipino and Thai parts of the family have given me a resistance to the heat. I can't believe Esther's friends here couldn't handle the heat that well. I need to check some of these places out if I make it back to California.
Depends on where you're from and what you were raised on. Chef Yao is Taiwanese and Chef Mei Lin is from Guangdong. Neither place is known for super spicy food. If either of them were from, say, Chongqing and couldn't handle the heat, then that would've been surprising.
I don't think you understand that she puts half the content of a jar of one of the hottest pepper in the world in their bowl; nobody on the planet can eat a whole dish like that; and one bite is just for the ridiculous challenge but it's impossibly hot as well. From the video they can handle hot food pretty well.
I WENT TO SCHOOL RIGHT NEAR VALLEY PLAZA AWESOME can't tell people how many times i went to these spots in high school and burn my soul with the spice. love it that the episode starts here, this is a great area if you love Asian food of many styles
I'm watching this episode, and all I'm hearing in my head is, "I don't think you know what pain is. I don't think you've gone that way. I could bring you SO MUCH pleasure!"
Thanks Mei Lin, for the tip on how much the machine costs, a little while back. And, wish you could have been the one to win 2 in a row, too! I know that it will take a while for me to get one. But, at least I have a reference for it, now...
YES, thank you for showing the San Gabriel Valley area! I'm literally driving distance here. And Uncle Roger was around there a few weeks ago on his shorts!
I live in the SGV and there are SOOOO many good places to get nice spicy food with one of the, if not THE, best places for Szechuan is in Monterey Park (Xiang La Hui). I had to laugh at Esther when she inhaled during the noodle slurp. I have done that quite a few time and know better. Takes a few minutes to recovery all the while coughing and eyes watering.
I grew peppers of all kinds in Tucson. I had to give my hot sauces to my boys. I hurt myself. I remember sweating on the bathroom floor, swearing to God I'd never eat them again. I lied. Esther, the Morning Star. I love these videos. Please keep them coming.
dat sechu style o kitchen is already on the edge. Had this beef stew with elefant ear shrooms ina sea of peppers and peppercorn. Couldnt sleep for 3 days in a row so activated. my wife told me to stay away from her after the first night heheheh
I've been to Hunan, and I've been to Chili King. It tastes very close to the real thing. Love the preserved pork with chili 😋 Lu's garden is the last place I would go searching for spicy. Anything southern Chinese (most Chinese food in the US) is sweet, salty, and paired with rice. The middle parts of China from Beijing to Hunan to Sichuan to Xian. That's where all of the best, most flavorful, and yes, spicy Chinese food comes from. Noodles, chilies, oil, peppercorn, cumin. Unfortunately, the good stuff is hard to find outside of the SGV.
Always wanted to go to the last restaurant since it’s on San Gabriel right next to my favorite Cathy’s bakery , now I will definitely go and try it. I love spicy noodles.
Hot ones has inspired me to make radical choices. I got a breakfast taco at QT, added jalapenos and a generous amount of ghost pepper hot sauce. My coworkers thought it was hilarious
I used to carry a bottle of scorpion powder with me to add to food but I stopped because I had maced myself so many times after. I started carrying gloves also to avoid it. Just had to quit carrying because I rub my face too often because of allergies! Love the heat, hate the aftermath!😂
Growing up in the 1980s Bay Area I had access to a ton of regional Chinese foods, I'm surprised that guy wasn't in his part of 1990s or 2000s SoCal. I've always known Chinese food was more than Cantonese, and I"m not even Asian. What am I missing?
"You're f**ing insane for making us do this" -Chef Mei Lin
Lol

I hope Mei Lin didn't have a stomachache on her flight.
Eating spicy food before a flight is very risky.
Now if george soros didn't own this now... i could keep watching but heard the news today... Sorry guys been fun :(
Since she likes super spicy food bhanu Indian cuisine not far from Chongqing noodle has reaper as a level of spicy for their food.
“And he was fine…. Well, he wasn’t fine” 😂😂
Jon is the peak form of just a chill guy
The amount of heat that she eat is totally unreal. My mouth would jump out of my soul with that intensity. I’ve been watching this show like forever.
Can you imagine going on a date with her? You think she's gorgeous, great personality, amazing person - then she takes you to her favorite restaurant.......
Chinese spice is not spicy bruh

Auntie Esther is the sweetest, most lethal spice lord.
🤣🤣
Literally everyone they have on the show as a guest except this singular episode handles spice better than she does. But sure, total spice lord.
"Pain is Pleasure" - Esther Choi 🔥
That why Uncle Roger is in love with her, he likes getting spicy-smacked around a little. 🤣
I love the name Esther. I also am digging the show. Her casualness in being able to withstand 🥵 heat is impressive.
The Hebrew root meaning for Ester is "hidden". It comes from the fact that Queen Ester hid her Jewishness to survive in the Persian palace.
I could watch chef Esther all day long! This is one of the best series on RUclips 🤘🔥🔥
I remember seeing how fearless Mei Lin was on Top Chef and TOC. This might be the first time I've seen her scared on a show.

Im crying that BOTH chef brought hot sauces 😂😂
aunty Esther is 😍😍😍😍😍
Don't let Aunty Esther innocence fool you. As she tries to get you to eat some crazy hot food.
This coud be said about every woman of 5'3 or lower. Yes they are small, but like dynamite once the fuse is lit you better dive for cover ;)
I love Esther shes so cute and innocent yet she has a sinister heat side as well.
Why do people keep calling her innocent?? She’s a grown woman and chef. I don’t get it.
@@DB-xo6xh her demeaner the way she handles herself, its not that hard.
@@ibanezcollector she's not a child. It seems you're fetishising her.

JON YAO!! His mise en place episode is amazing

Esther and Uncle Roger be wildin with the hot stuff 🤣🤣🤣
How they not a unit they perfect for each other
I feel like Jon is toasted lol maybe that’s just his personality but he’s just a chill guy.
hes always chill like that from what ive seen in videos. chill af
Na, that’s just being from California

Esther is nuts. I love it!
We need more episodes of heat eaters!!
Good job. Looks very appetizing with scorpion pepper powder.
12:58 is outrageous
as always, this episode was incredible.
This all looks amazing 😍 I'd eat it all bring on the heat!
I would say heat eaters is my favorite of all ❤️🔥
I'm watching this episode, and all I'm hearing in my head is, "I don't think you know what pain is. I don't think you've gone that way. I could bring you SO MUCH pleasure!"
"Pain is pleasure" Now that's my kind of girl.
14:14 the Bombastic Side eye 😂
I love that you are continuing the continuity.
My favourite series on first we feast👍👌
That would have been a fun episode to be a part of. I’m gonna have to try some of those restaurants!
I love adding gochujang paste to various meals, nothing like a good dose of heat.
Thanks Mei Lin, for the tip on how much the machine costs, a little while back. And, wish you could have been the one to win 2 in a row, too! I know that it will take a while for me to get one. But, at least I have a reference for it, now...

"how you make real friends, you manufacture trauma" - Chef Jon Yao
i want to eat at Kato even more now
Always wanted to go to the last restaurant since it’s on San Gabriel right next to my favorite Cathy’s bakery , now I will definitely go and try it. I love spicy noodles.
I can smell that and it hurts😂😂😂 now I gotta try some noodles, first must find that magic powder😊.
Where did you get the milk tea from? I love trying new places
I know this is nood good for your stomach and mental health but watching heat eater while munching down crazy hot food make it 10x better
SGV!!!! Back in the day 🤙🏻
Hot ones has inspired me to make radical choices. I got a breakfast taco at QT, added jalapenos and a generous amount of ghost pepper hot sauce. My coworkers thought it was hilarious
My hometown! Love the 626
I love this series so much
I go to Lu's in city of industry. Its 15 mins away. You should try the Rowland Heights, Diamond Bar and City of Industry area
Ester: Pain is pleasure... perfect quote for this series.

Shout out to Lu’s Garden!! This is literally where I spend bday lunches. No I don’t want some fancy place. This is my happy place.
❤ going on a date with esther includes going to the bathroom after 😂
Not bad. It's a cool concept. I'd like to see who she gets on the show. I've got my heat seekers on 🔥👀🔥
How do I get invited to your show. I LOVE heart!!
The queen is back
Perfect spicy food weather right now 🔥
I wish they opened up a restaurant in Hamilton NJ
Smoking Ed's diabolical side is rubbing off on Ester haha. Those chefs handled it really good.
“I do have the rawdog, here with me, today”
You got to do another trauma bonding episode with Chef Jon and Mei Lin. Great commentary and reminds me when I eat super spicy food with friends
I loved my old neighborhood up in Seattle now I MISS THE FOOD OF SGV SO HARD
Esther is fire like pepper.
Are you related to the other Choi on the other cooking show? Kelly Choi of Top Chef !!
So where can people buy that dry spice powder she is pouring?
I never knew about these hidden gems when living in SoCal and I also lived in SGV but that was just a place to sleep

Hey Ester! What's your boba order?!
Love it and eat some more of it
lol that was hilarious...Great chemistry
I want all of those dishes. Looks amazing. Not sure if I could handle the hottest dishes but I'd try!
Ameizing!
Nobody does it better than Uncle Roger 😂. Been dreaming of him huh Auntie Esther I can tell 😅
Yummy 😊
Kermit is crying for his lost amphibious family. 7:03
Biang biang noodle isn't actually from Chongqing tho... It's from Shaanxi province located at pretty much the centre of China's map
The amount of times John like, says like, is like totally so California
Hunan food is good, it doesn't burn your head or lips, just a gentle burn in the stomach
Mei Lin from top chef!!! Let’s go!!
Awesome, good to see Jon Yao. He has an excellent Eater video about his restaurant.
Are there any fire noodles in Orlando Florida
My heartburn could never.
Same
Could we get a New Orleans special when we get closer to the Super Bowl?
"LoL", I brought Ghost Peppers! I want to party with her!
I know chef Mei Lin from Without A Recipe, she's so funny
I read that as "Human Chili Frog." 😅
I was sweating just watching!!!
Calling tofu bean curd doesn’t do it any justice lol
