The concerto commences with an introduction serving as the main theme. Following the introduction, it expands upon this theme before transitioning to the cadenza, leading to the emergence of the second subject, titled "à là Hongroise." The cadenza then progresses to the Scherzo, recognized as the most challenging segment due to the rapid execution of octaves and runs. Subsequent to the Scherzo, a recitativo modulation transitions to the Sostenuto, recalling the initial theme while altering chords.
The composition then shifts to Andantino in A major, retracing the beginning of Sostenuto but with ascending chords, followed by modulation to a Db section and subsequently to the C-D-E section. The sequence advances to the Cadenza and the Allegro section. After this section, a slow interlude ensues before returning to the Allegro, culminating in a grand section and Tempo Scherzo (the point at which the original manuscript concludes). It then progresses to Maestoso-Più Animato, leading to Grandioso Rubato.
Following this, Andantino revisits the main theme with a more expressive accompaniment, incorporating three-hand effects and returning to C-D-E with additional voices. Finally, the coda unfolds, modulating and culminating in Allegro Vivace-Più mosso-Presto.
