Sent you down another rabbit hole. I think it’s a good idea to make one in paper first to get the idea of how it works. I like all the different methods for different reasons all have their merits. Great video Annie you’ve certainly got a special kind of mindset and are brilliant at working things out. Thank you you’re a super special lady. x 💐
Ah thank you so much Jen - and thank you for the original inspiration that sparked off this whole project, I definitely blame you completely for this one! I now what to try one where the base is all black, and another where each square has a different print on it that I can thread-paint into, then I think it would be fun to do one to display dorset and other handmade buttons, another for experimental millefiori-inspired pieces ... and then there's all the different paper/card versions I could try. Yes, definitely a rabbit-hole all right! :) xo
Oh thanks Liz, I'm so happy you're enjoying it - I do sometimes wish my mind would stop thinking of new things though, I keep starting more projects cos I can't help myself and the list keeps on growing! :)
Wow Annie! You are a mathematical genius., I mean it, I got completely lost and the you explained it so that even I could understand it ☺️, thank you 💕
Glad it was helpful Jan, that makes me very happy - if you have a go at this and you get stuck, give me a shout, you could even send me a photo or short vid if you like. But hopefully it will all go smoothly, just take your time and follow the template :) xo
Love this project, Annie. Will start it today. It would be really helpful if you had a downloadable PDF file that shows your paper pattern with all the markings (numbers, center, direction of design for each side. Thanks again for a truly unique, exciting fun project. It took a lot of hard work to figure this out and i want you to know that it is appreciated.
Thank you very much Connie, I'm so happy you like it and I would love to see what you do with this idea. What I will do is scan both sides of the template and make them available to download via our Discord and Facebook groups - they're all free, if you haven't joined already just go to my linktree in the description to this video to find the links. Please do share some pics and tag me when you make yours - I'm so excited to see what others do with this idea :)
ps remember that even with the scanned templates, you will probably still need to refer to the video to make sure you get the two sides the right way around - I will put an arrow in the centre of each side to indicate the right way up, so you can make sure the arrow is the same way up on each side, that should help :)
You are so welcome Ruthie! I'm so happy you're going to try this, please do give me a shout if you need any help at all - it was so hard to find a way to explain it all. Thanks for watching :) xo
Very cute, love how you’re showing us your thinking while making the pattern. Very informative and supper fun watch ❤. Thanks Annie.
Thank you Paula! 😊 did it all make sense? xo

Thank you Annie for your video. Love these squares and such a great idea for small projects not requiring lots of stash and fun to stitch.
