I would never in my wildest dreams thought Kenya would look like that. THANK YOU, for the education. It’s beautiful.
You should make a point of visiting our country Kenya you will not be disappointed it's a very beautiful country with the best wildlife and tourist sites
Because the news in the U.S. lies, and come over and steal and invade their country. So we have these preconceived notions about other countries, and in all actuality it's beautiful. They always show the negative and poor parts of Africa, but it's just the same in the U.S. we have places that are ridden with crime and poverty. In America they program us to think negatively about other countries through tv and the news. That's why it's great to travel and educate ourselves, because what we are being taught is not always the truth. Thank you to this family for showing us the beauty in Africa. ❤
Wow, I've enjoyed seeing my country Kenya as always through your lenses. I've missed being home now...
Enjoy your stay/holiday to the utmost and be safe.
@@aquariuslee561 So True and Beautiful Words! ❣️
aquariuslee561 that is true. I’ve been all over Asia and Europe. America tells us how beautiful and romantic Rome Italy is when the people who have to live there are trying to escape it , due to being overrun by Mafia. We are programmed to hate Iraq because we were told they did 9/11 when they didn’t have a thing to do with it. And Iraq is portrayed as very poor and women covered from head to toe black. And that’s not true. It’s a beautiful country but America did not help it when it illegally invaded Iraq and left nothing but destruction.
You right Sara, the only part of Africa shown on TV are poorest and bad things.
♥️👍🏽
I was thinking the same thing!
I am sure glad you are sharing this w ALL of us !! But enjoy your time there and w family ;)
Africa is a huge continent , with many countries , so are better off in areas then others
It looks lovely, thank you for opening our eyes to a new experience!!
My family is originally from Iran and people have the same preconceived notions about the middle east as they do about east Africa, most people think that the world outside of the west is all dirt roads and mud huts and villages without running water.
It’s so refreshing to see the comments and know that more people are being educated about the reality of life in east Africa. The media’s portrayal of “third world countries” is far from the truth.
The world is beautiful and our Lord is good.
True they need to educate themselves it embarrassing
I love that you are sharing East Africa in a different and more realistic light, when I moved to Rwanda my friends and family had so many ideas about what my life would look like. With the exception of Starbucks, it looks pretty much the same. When they came for my wedding they were shocked. I’m glad you are sharing this image of Africa. Thanks!
They have java house which is basically the starbucks of kenya but tastes 100×s beter
Melissa Chege yeah even in Rwanda, we have it, it was a joke 😊. Java is very expensive and high calorie anyway, and I’m more missing the “to go” “dairy free options” and “everywhere” aspects. Everyone who lives far from home will have stuff they miss, even if there are similar options available.
Melissa Chege and for me to get to Java it’s 1000 RWF! 😩
Oh yes its crazy i lived in kenya 6 years ago and i cant believe how westernized it is becoming. I enjoyed the simplicity of it all now it looks like america!
Melissa Chege even in Rwanda, it’s still simple as there are no outside brands for food that I recognized from the US, but recently almost anything is available in Kigali if you know were to go. A lot of growth and change recently. It’s exciting or those of us who miss certain food and home items.
This is so very interesting! Thank-you so much for posting so we can see and be educated AND enjoy this trip with you!!!
"What did you do in Nairobi?" "I took a math test." 🤣
When that baby was singing hallelujah in the grocery store my heart just melted 😍
I just discovered this channel, and I must say, she was cutting up. Her little tone at 5:56 is on key. She’s feeling it.
I was that kid when I was small 🤣
Absolutely beautiful! It melted my heart ❣🙏❣
As a Kenyan I saw Kenya on the title and clicked Immediately 🤣🤣🤣 going through the comments I see how *clueless" people are about Africa guess they need to book a flight and see whats it's really like we don't live on trees and bushes 😘😘
Hahahaha that's true
Right ! That's why the americans move to Kenya and not the other way round.
It’s like when people come here to Australia...they expect to see kangaroos jumping around outside on the streets and koala bears in every gum tree....
Hi! Can you explain why cheese and butter are expensive in Kenya as mentioned in the video? I'm so curious!
Such a beautiful place ! You should be proud 😍
Yessss!!! I'm so excited to watch! 😍😍
Edit: I had no idea that Kenya was this way. All I used to imagine was Animal Kingdom. Thank you so much for educating and showing me the REALITY of Africa..!!
That's insulting...... You were under a rock
@@joelenenakova6910 The person was being honest and grateful for being shown how Kenya really was. That's what life's about.....constantly learning and that includes learning about other cultures.
JOELENE NAKOVA It’s not insulting at all! It’s just learning!
@@abigail607 thats being under rock, we live in a modern world, Africa countries , Caribbean Countries have even some developments that you dont even see in the USA,Travel if you can....there a lot of African family bloggers on youtube, they would show you another side of Africa. Than the Us media, its to keep some ppl ignorant.., if you choose to be nieve.. common sense
@@abigail607 why couldn't u look at her statement as so exciting to learn it's not how she perceived or was told it s like and what I got is like she feels she can visit because it's so beautiful
I’ve never been more excited for a grocery haul !
Lol me too!!! It’s so interesting to see the kind of food they sell and milk in bags...so cool
@@KatieT441 major supermarkets have fresh milk dispensers. All you need is your own bottle!! Welcome to Kenya :)
Same!! Ahaha
I lived in Kenya for most of my life, so this is very refreshing to see as I haven’t been back since I was younger. We were evacuated during the 2008 election and it made it very difficult to say goodbye. It has really touched my heart to see home again. Thank you guys!
Anna Marie Stow that’s so funny! I spent most of my life in Kenya too and we ended up staying during the 2008 election violence! Scary times! Haven’t been back since 2012. How it’s changed but yet stayed the same!
@@haleyhorn6257 I wish we could have stayed! We had 12 men break into our home and attempt to kill my father. Then then successfully broke in a second time, and attempted to do the same 5 more times. They captured several of the people who worked for us and hurt many of them. An attempted carjacking as well, as well as an attempted kidnapping. We knew many who stayed as well, but after those traumatic events we were told to leave. Great memories aside from that! :)
I am so so sorry about your experience. Karibu nyumbani next time
That mall is nicer than 95% of malls in Washington, including Seattle! 😂
Caroline I live in Wa state also, and agree! West lake Mall and Bellevue Square might be the exceptions!
I grew up in Seattle and never once went to a mall. Downtown was just way closer. This was over 20 years ago since I left.
Way better than southcenter lol
thank you for potraying Kenya in its true form. Africa has great malls and infrastructure people!!!!
I feel so ignorant 😭 I was embarrassingly surprised by the shopping mall and the grocery store 😲😲😲😲 certainly not what I expected in Kenya!!
Me to but do not feel bad. The fault is at mass media and educational institutions. They like to make what ever country your from seem better. All places do it.
I was really surprised too
It is beautiful and VERY modern!!! I honestly thought they were pranking us lol! I never EVER would have guessed, or probably even believed a shopping mall in Kenya would have nicer amenities and far better selection than any of the shopping malls in Washington state USA 😲 I mean HOLY GOATS there is a water slide park at the mall!!!
Who knows, maybe Kenya for my next vacation destination? 🤔🤔🤔🤔
I am from Kenya but live in TX. I first arrived in the U.S in the summer early 90's, the #1 question I got asked was about the animals...yes they roam freely but in a game reserve,( example is the Masai Mara reserve which is 582 as miles and it's fenced off)...the fact is most Kenyans have never seen Lions, giraffes or any other wild animals.
Most folk were shocked when I complained about the high temps, they assumed that I was used to it being from Africa...I am from the Kenyan highlands and average weather all year long is low 70's..July/August is our coldest season and can get to the lower 40s.

Americans are so brainwashed and ignorant it's not even funny. If I was an American I would lie through my teeth if I traveled over seas. I wouldn't want anyone to know I was from the USA, I would be so embarrassed of my education of the world and the one sided egotistical world view jammed down my throat from my country's media and government. Americans are THE joke to the world!
I never knew Africa was so beautiful they sadly don’t show this part too often and I would love to see more of it in videos of yours, such a lovely family ❤️✌🏻
Celebi the onion fairy “Africa” ? Wow I didn’t know “Africa” was that small !
Malo Enow if your going to be smart-assed why even comment🙄
Celebi the onion fairy the only way you can know it’s visiting Africa because the western media will never show it.
Lulu W You don’t have to visit Africa to know what it looks like. It just takes educating yourself and doing research.
@@simonettegiselle2655 You've said it all.
It's really that simple. There's no excuse for ignorance.
I never understood why people ever believed anywhere in Africa was poor. Why would they EXTORT its resources if it had no value. Your video makes me excited to go to Sierra Leone with my husband soon.
My husband is from Siera Leone and my grandfather from Congo. They destroyed their resources. Its absolutely sad.
Ppl are ignorant is sad
It might have to do with the near constant running of advertisements in America showing poor starving Africans living in shacks with no water, or the constant campaigns to raise money for aid to Africa (ie LiveAid anyone?) Seeing how it REALLY is there makes me rethink ever donating money to these things again. I feel like ive been duped by people who just want money lol.
Thank you sooooooooo much for showing people that Africa (Kenya) is very modernized, and not just dirt and bugs.
Love to see where Solo came from..beautiful country..thanks for sharing.
Loving the vlog from Kenya, please show us every little thing.
So interesting. I just assumed everything would be so different than here! :)
I love you showing real, regular Africa instead of just the shocking or strange parts. One of the best things about traveling extensively is you learn that everyone is more similar than different. I'm glad your kids are getting to travel! I am positive that having those experiences as a young person made me a better adult.
Actually Two rivers mall is the biggest mall in Kenya and East Africa I live in Kenya and its been fun to see my country in your perspective. Welcome to Kenya. HAKUNA MATATA
NZ has banned single use plastic bags too! Yay, saving the planet! Great to know Kenya is too!
That was very informative information
Jamaica too
So garbage cans are going to stink now? Or are single use garbage bags alright 🤦♀️
Spain as well❤️
So has Australia. A lot of countries have now.
I love having the grocery store in the mall! One stop shopping 👍
Do you not have grocery stores in the malls in U.S?..here in Australia every mall has grocery stores
No grocery stores in malls in the U.S, this is the first time i see this
I had No idea there is no grocery store in the malls in the U.S, I live in europe, all my life Norway and last 3 years in Spain,on the canary Islands outside Africa.
Every mall I have been to has a grocery shop or even 2 or two in malls here.
Moon Wind We have a Target Supercenter attached to our mall which a grocery section but that’s the first time I’ve even seen that. Other than that, it’s clothing, jewelry, home good, music stores. Some malls are not dong well any more though and put random stores in just to stay afloat.
Yes it is very convenient. This particular mall they went to has several big store supermarkets and separate vegetable stores. This is great both for us and tourists so that they are not overwhelmed. However the mall is expensive for vegetables so the open air markets are better but not for the fainthearted because they get fresh produce in bulk every day.
Two Rivers.. You guys are in my hood 😍😍😍❤️Away till June hope to catch you guys. Enjoy +254
Loving this, thanks for taking us with you to Kenya!
You have such a beautiful family! Thank you for showing how rich, vibrant and resourceful Africa is.I’m always shocked when people assume it’s nothing but huts and animals.
Thank you for showing us Kenya through your eyes! This is extremely interesting!
I'm really begging my boyfriend to take me to nirobi to visit his family!!! Glad that I got to see it through your guys eyes
Didn't realise they drove on the same side of the road in Kenya as they do here in Australia. Learn something every day!!
Most commonwealth countries do though not all.
Naw I did not pay attention to that
We actually buy some cars from Australia...especially the 4x4 enthusiasts.
@@Dee-kk8vc apart from canada, nigeria and ghana. i think most other commonwealth countries drive on the left
Kenya and Australia are extremely similar
I miss home when i watch this. I live in Wisconsin but originally am from Kenya Eldoret. I lived in Mombasa before i moved to the US. Guys, enjoy your time there and God bless. I love your family Tribe of many!
Wow,Eldoret home of champions is my hometown but am currently living in Nairobi.Am happy to know that you like my country.Welcome back if you can.
Hope singing Hallelujah had to be the sweetest thing I’ve ever seen, and as one of your U.K. subscribers I would say that you are driving on the correct side of the road 😀❤️
Such a beautiful country! I can’t wait to see more! I’m really so happy for y’all to get time in Solo’s homeland.
@@irenedavo3768 - Hello there!
The home and surrounding yards look beautiful, that was an awesome mall, i enjoyed the grocery haul, thanks again for sharing!
You had me at Chicken Masala Fries! This was so interesting!
It's actually chips masala
@@scola2307 they say fries, we say chips. they drive right side, we left. one thing i like about americans is they shook off their colonial past almost completely. they even changed the english language.
The comments here are so interesting. I grew up in rural West Africa and moved to the States in 2003 to go to college. I was always surprised by what people assumed my life was like in West Africa.😂😂😂
Dear people of the world: Africa is not all gloom, doom and bad news.
Just like other parts of the world are not all rainbows and sunshine.
Thanks Sarah and Solo for sharing Kenya with us.
I had no idea how absolutely GORGEOUS Nairobi is! I’m so excited to see the rest of the travel vlogs , and thank you for sharing this little slice of Heaven with us❤️
Nairobi has its extremes. Some neighbourhoods are really nice while others are quite crowded and not so pretty.
Welcome to Nairobi Kenya.
Amazing new view of Africa for many ... thank you .. xoxo
KENYA is beautiful, western media only show poverty. There are other 2 vloggers i follow who show case the African beauty :Wode Maya and Miss Trudy.
I am so amazed to see how lush and green everything is. Anytime I have seen footage of Africa on TV, they always show it as dry and dusty. So nice to see a different view, so gorgeous!💖
Aww I love watching your family and I can’t wait for the next baby
Great, great, great video'!!!! 💟 Thank you for letting us come on your trip and to see Kenya through your eyes instead of the more skewed "news and TV/magazine Kenya" that only shows a small sliver of life there and the poorer or more rural aspects making it seem overwhelmingly impoverished and lacking in many necessities so nice to see the beauty and modernness that really exists there .Really nice to see and compare prices as well. I can't wait to see and learn more on your adventure but I know it's a vacation and expensive so balance You Tube with having fellowship with friends and family there and having some rest as well of course we all would love tons of video HOWEVER we don't want to be selfish. This is your family, your time, and your very expensive trip/vacation and your respite from day to day homeschool family life. So please keep your family needs first and fit us in the nooks and crannies. Love and prayers to the Tribe. 💟✝️🙏✝️💟

This is the side of Africa they media fails to show. Kenya is such a beautiful country I hope to visit one day❤️🇰🇪
Your welcome ....
I’m so surprised by all this !! It’s not what I expected at all. Hardee’s is in Kenya ! They’re barely surviving in the US 😂
Have a wonderful vacation our tribe of many!!!
Love that Hope was singing in the grocery store...she is precious!
Love that you're showing folks who may not know how beautiful and modern a lot of Africa is.
Can't wait for the other Kenyans vlogs, wow that place is beautiful. And I love how all the kids made instant friends.
It's so refreshing to hear you say that about Kenya, so true what a beautiful country......I often am so surprised even by what people think of Canada...polar bears and igloo's!! I've lived here my whole life never seen either! Namaste family
Wow, I didn't realise Kenya was like that. I can't believe how similar that mall & food looked to some of ours.
Tricia my thought exactly! Here’s the new mall (in another country, on another continent), same as the old mall (at home, or anywhere else!)!
Am from Kenya and that's probably the smallest mall we have
@@starshine7586 its the biggest one actsully.
@@yaqubgaming1780 Garden City as well as Tatu City malls will be the biggest on completion
As a Kenyan I can proudly say that our country is beautiful this is just a glimpse of it. You should definitely tour all the counties in Kenya to see how beautiful and learn more about the different cultures we are quite friendly
OMG the mall, amusement park, beautiful home and the news must lie to much wow thanks for sharing now I have a new perspective of Kenya! Your hubby look so happy & you Sarah stay bless have fun!
Glad you are there all safe and sound. What a wonderful legacy your grandparents have begun for your family. Blessings to you all.
Thank You for sharing. I didn't realize how much Kenya looks like America. The landscape & the mall is what I'm refuring too. So glad you have family housing to share.. I love how happy your children are playing around. You & Solo seem so relaxed. Enjoy You time with Solos and your family too seems like everyone is so much fun.. THANKS GOD'S BLESSINGS
Oh My Goodness, Sarah!!! When you do NOT know BELLE is the one talking and the camera isn't on her, she sounds just like YOU!!! My mama and I were told that about the phone starting around the time I was 13 and still get told that. My daughter is now being mistaken for me on the phone, as well. Cool little observation!! Tyvm for taking us along w you! I can almost guarantee that this Oklahoma gal will NEVER get to go to Africa, so I'm going to enjoy seeing the country through you! You are 100% spot on concerning what I've seen on TV being poor areas, etc. I'm EXCITED! Y'all have fun and stay safe! Looking forward to the next vlog!

Wow I live in NZ and I know it’s tiny but to think we have about the same population in the whole of NZ as one city in Kenya! Crazy!!
Kenya uses the same side of the road as here in the UK. We find it strange getting used to driving in the States. I lived in Johannesburg for many years and often wanted to visit Kenya. Maybe one day.
U are welcomed to Kenya
Karibu sana
Yes Lynne. We keep left. Most of our stuff like the English we use is from UK although the accent is totally different. Remember we were colonised by British.
Jamaica too
Thank you so much for sharing your trip!
Love your videos. Thank you for taking us with you
Such a beautiful family, was great to see how people live other there❤
The milk bags are interesting and yougert in the jug!
We have milk in bags because its convenient because you have to maximize your grocery bag space....because cabs are expensive and you have to mostly use public transportation to get home. The cab is not worth is unless you are buying like a monthly shopping. Plus the bag is easier to recycle than the plastic bottles.
Mercy Namikoye it’s also cheaper packaging.
Rude to chase the chickens is such closed in areas! Poor chickens have to run for their life. I have been watching your videos and love to see how you shop for a large family...this trip to Kenya is a real treat, thank you so much. Love your "home base."
Thank you for sharing, it looks amazing over there.
Hurry back and pick me up. I want to go to Kenya. That's so beautiful.😀
