The reason why they got stopped alot was because they were travelling in a Van. Vans in kenya which are called Matatus are used for public transport. So when you see a Van with people inside its assumed its a public Transport vehicle. The stopping is to ensure the VAn is licensed to carry passengers and all the neccessary paper work is in order plus the vehicle is in good running condition. This avoids people not authorized to carry passengers flouting the laws on public safety.

Thank you so much for the explanation it just gave some more clarity. I was just wondering whether the kids were scared every time they were stopped. I did a tour as a performer in Germany and Switzerland and every time we went across the checkpoints there were like these soldiers there with gigantic guns. It was a little concerning. They weren't mean just very stern. And that was the first thing I thought of when the kids were talking about being stopped. They didn't seem traumatized by it though. These kids are so intelligent.

@@sosexymagazinerobinwatkins8467 There have been many cases of fatal accidents on the roads by licensed passenger Vans in Kenya and in a bid to ensure that every van is insured, and in compliance with maintanance fit to be on the raods carrying passengers, the govt has issued a crack down notice on all passenger carrying Vans. Then there are those who use personal Vans to carry passengers to make a quick buck commonly known as a side hussle , and who knows whether they are in compliance with the rules and regualtions

Reminded me of the Thanksgiving Appetizers video where you went around asking all the kids what their favorite part of Thanksgiving dinner was and they all said "APPETIZERS!" one after another, then once you got to Luka "umm...mashed potatoes." LOL!

The very primitive way of cooking but yet it all seemed to be very enjoyable. It was really a step back in time to visit there along with you guys but I was so impressed. First of all, hello to you and your beautiful family. This is my first comment since I started watching your channel about 6 weeks ago. I watched from the beginning and I finished today. It is refreshing to see a family with a great set of values and so respectful towards others. Your kids are amazing. I feel like I know your family personally. When you and Solo would explain different things and situations, and I never found myself disagreeing with what you said. Your explanations were spot on. This world has become too "politically correct." My main problem with this is that they are taking God out of everything. Your grocery hauls have taught me a lot. My husband and I are empty nesters now and that was hard to go through. Thank you all so much for making me "laugh out loud" so many times. The "bat" and the "rat" were so funny and yes, I would have been doing the same thing as you. I look forward to your upcoming videos. Take care and God bless you all.

I have only commented once or twice before... BUT I am so impressed with your Christian witness! Your family is adorable!! AND I have been in Danville!! I live near Peoria IL! We have very close family friends from Kenya and I enjoy hearing the accent (in another video). We also have a biracial daughter who joined our family through adoption so beautiful!! Anyway I’m praying for God’s blessing and protection on your family!

They are not stupid rules Judah. We appreciate them so much!. There have been numerous cases of foreigners taking children from here and going to mistreat them the worst is sexually abusing them.

Love watching your videos and I will say that my children although grown now had similar experiences when it comes to being bi- racial. I am Puerto Rican 🇵🇷 and their father is African American 🇺🇸. The 1st time we visited PR my children had a bit of a problem communicating with relatives that spoke no English, but they really enjoyed seeing where I am from and seeing where their grandparents (my parents) were born. Happy Friday everyone ❤.

You may have already done this and I just haven't seen it.. but I'd love to hear about when your husband first came to USA was there anything to was total culture shock for him or anything that he didn't understand. For example My friend is from China she is blown away we only go food shopping once a week 😁 they go everyday. 👍❤️

It depends on where and how you were raised. Many cultures shop daily or a few times a week. Growing up, my mom did the grocery shopping once a week, but would do fresh fruit or vegetable runs as needed. When we were older, my mom had my brother or I stop on our way home to pick up anything she might need to save her a trip out. Now that I am alone again, I go out every 2 or 3 days.
