There’s a guy on you tube called Daniel Cooper, he makes a lot of jewellery with uv and epoxy resin, and has loads of videos if you’d like to look, he has videos on using the sinker white. Resin is a funny medium, and quite often doesn’t work how you expect. Just have fun with it. There are so many possibilities. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, he is amazing. He does some very interesting pieces with coloured fusion films that makes like a dichroic glass effect or mother of Pearl effect, there is so much possibility with resin. I’m so glad you are getting into resin and look forward to your future videos. My current obsession is fluid art jewellery ❤

I think you did well for a beginner. Temperature does interfere with some resins , both too cold and too hot.
I agree that the white needs to be added smaller amounts and slower. And I think your cabochon attempts turned out good, real stones, crystals etc I think are unique in design by creation , you are also creating a unique design.
I have used resin back before UV resin became a thing. I used to make faux druzy cabs with glass frit and resin, also did the opals , using large fantasy film flakes, color pigments and resin. I have some still that are over 20 years old 😅.
You keep up the good work and you will excel in this craft.
Talent is the biggest challenge and you are blessed with plenty of that . Thank you for sharing with us.

I've made my own resin focals and get compliments on them all the time. They think they're opals. That's exactly what I tried to copy so that was cool when someone said I thought that was an opal. So that's when I knew I did a good job. I wire wrapped mine.

      Mine wasn't uv resin though.

Awesome learning tutorial❣ I've been wanting to try resin art and this video is a great learning experience for anyone who wants to give it a try.
Thank you so much 🙆‍♀️❣ Now I'll have to start to gather the necessary tools and maybe a beginners guide book to get extra information and tips.
    1st comment 🥰🤭❣

Add more color after the white then more color and more white. 2-3 layers for sure. Great job!

You can try a heat gun after pouring - use a gentle speed and go across it lightly. This may help your white sinker effect but it will also remove the tiny bubbles in the mix.

I too just ordered some uv resin to try. I can’t wait until it comes. I was debating on getting a levelling resin table and a heating pad to put under the resin. It’s suppose to help it dry quicker but I don’t need to use the heating pad for uv resin. After seeing what happened to your piece, I think I’ll get the levelling table. Thank you! I’d love to learn more techniques on colour if you don’t mind. Thank you so much for the help. 💝🥰

You can use water to determine the amount of resin you want to mix and with the white sinker try to leave it to thicken up a bit before you add it.

I’m not a huge fan of resin pieces, but I think your cabochons turned out nice, even though it didn’t rk out to your vision.
