  • The SVT-3PRO is designed for the player who wants SVT tone and performance (with a few modern enhancements) in a convenient rackmount design. Robert Trujillo (Metallica) and Les Claypool (Primus) are just a couple of the world-class artists that depend on the SVT-3PRO to get the job done, day in and day out.

    To the people that have complaints about the power, learn how to use the gain knob, and use a 4 ohm cabinet. Unless you are playing stadiums, you don't need more volume.

    We use the hell out of this amp (on top of an Ampeg SVT-810e cab) here in our studio. It's satisfied every client who's ever used it here.

    p6 the tube gain (plate volts in diagram) was appearing blown but in pulling board to verify where to put a 1m bypass resistor, i found pot was ok! It's a bad dirty ground or something. Still trying to figure what's up! Appears i/c pin 4 indeed was the culprit...104v to 298v now instead of 120vdc shown for tp7. still 200w instead of 275 out.
    ps ampeg told me to f off when i said we need a service bulletin rather than giving me any support

    ampeg tubes are really good, they're is no need to change out the preamp tubes in a bass amp.

    I just got this head and everything is great besides a problem with the line out. I get a pretty noticable fuzz from the out when recording and sound guy's always complain that the signal is dirty coming out of my amp...anyone have this problem? any solutions? thanks!

    Becuase they sound awesome. It's worth it, tonally, and overall. they do need to be replaced, but like once a year, so that's not an issue really. They only really sell em for replacements, not to change them out for tone. That's Groove Tube's job.

    I am realy dissapointed with the clean volume i am getting out of my svt 3 pro. It just is not pushing the volume i need even for a jam room

      Descobri que existe uma "regulagem BIAS" via trimpot. Soa como nunca meu svt3, estava desregulado.

    Does the 3PRO have a limiter like the B2 or B4R do? Thanks.

    I didn't say they weren't....? Ususally company sold stuff like AMPEG preamp tubes, opposed to Groove Tubes, are usually intended or aimed at replacement purposes. New Strings+humbucking pickup=great tone. DR strings FTW!

    It's just super loud, it'll push the preamp harder, but you shouldn't do it with a bass. It'll just stress out the amp too much.

    I dont understand how they can make promo vid's "without" including the sounds the amp and the cab's are capable of.... I mean its a piece of "sound" equipment - so lets focus on what the knobs do...and just imagine what it might sound like....Sheeesh :(

  • @howler9171
    @howler9171 3 года назад +1

    So it's called "tube gain" but all it does is control the speed of the power amp response instead of adding any gain? Shouldn't they have called it something else? Like something that accurately describes what it actually does?
