    Been watching these episodes since Christmas with the flu, given so much nostalgia joy. My daughter asks me to repeat the outrageous noises and funny songs, esp the moment they smell the cooking with that lions roar of pleasure! Ha! It would be amazing to have these two at a dinner party. Love the frank enuendos. Lets keep humor and comedy going and not be afraid to upset the emotions of those that get offended whod create a very bland life.

    Clarissa called them corn cakes but my southern mother called them corn fritters & fixed them quite often! Americans should take it as a compliment that she is borrowing from the cuisine of the American South! However, never heard the term: “girdle” referring to a southern skillet, only “griddle” & no different from the British version.

    Huevos Rancheros is my favorite! I have it when I go out to brunch with my parents sometimes. I have a friend in Mexico, and she usually has it without the chili peppers and just plain salsa. I tried it with chili peppers one time when I first tried it, and it was too spicy for me! I'll think of you Clarissa the next time I eat it! Rest in peace to you and Jennifer! We miss you ladies!

      12:39 It always makes me laugh when the ladies make assumptions about America and American foods. “Girdle!” I love it when they talk about peppers used in Texas and Mexican cooking. And how spicy they are. I remember seeing an episode with Clarissa warning about using “galopenas” when she was showing a poblano pepper that’s one of the mildest of jalapeños. I loved them dearly.

    These two ladies aren't meant to be PC, that was the whole point.....if you get offended, don't watch. But yes, it's British humour. If you don't get it then you weren't meant too.

      @carolineg1872 7 лет назад +15

      matthew brandon Oh we've been killing for longer than that mate. Remember we've been around longer. Try to remember where you've stolen most ideas from. Humour, sarcasm and self depreciation failed to translate across the pond I see...

    • @matthewbrandon3942
      @matthewbrandon3942 7 лет назад +8

      Caroline Greenman As far as Britain killing natives I was referring mostly to the empire which he can in the 1500s, roughly 500 years ago. Stolen ideas? We've given much more in the way of ideas than we've taken. And with the exception of Monty python, British humor doesn't translate to any other country very well. I saw I appreciate the sarcasm in the comments above but self depreciation, I didn't see any of that. The statement that I replied to was an ignorant, Hate filled rent that needed answering.

    • @carolineg1872
      @carolineg1872 7 лет назад +14

      matthew brandon Spoken like a true American. Full of holier than thou.
      And as I said much earlier, if you need someone to explain a post and it's varying types of humour therein, then it's a waste of time.
