This part SHOULD come stock on ALL of the ecoboost engines! In order to eliminate or at least greatly reduce the infamous carbon coking on the back side of the valves that is inherent to all direct injection engines that are mandated to run PCV. I didn't know this part was available so I added a UPR oil separator to my 2013 ecoboost F150 and you'd be amazed the amount of oil that's captured instead of circulating back through the intake to get baked onto the valves.
Awesome job on the video guys! Would love to see more videos like this in the future for other parts you offer.
I'm retrofitting this onto the clean side of my c6 z06. Nice job ford
Will this fit on a 2018 3.5 EcoBoost? Sending oil analysis samples, & finding fuel dilution in engine oil is an issue with short Oil change intervals being done at 2500 miles!
How often and how do you clean the filter media in the separator?
Question does this fit with the stage 2 Ford performance
Sooo how do you get one for a 2017 f150 5.0?
Just got a 2021 F150 V8 my dealer said this may void my warranty does it?
Will it fit 2022 Mach 1?
Shame...I was going to get this, but not currently available for my 2018 F150 5.0. I tried the chat line, but that wasn’t available. Wasn’t working. I also tried various other sites and called some distributors, but they couldn’t come up with a newer P/N for this either. This included FORD dealerships. To bad, guess I’ll have to go with a JLT.
They should include his part as stock component for the economist engines . Being this is a major flaw on those engines and in such expensive vehicles like the Raptor.
2:24 "50 State Emissions Legal" To my knowledge catch cans/oil separators are not. Wondering why that is? Vapors are still vented to the stock location and as far as I know these are now standard on the Gt 500's. Seems like they should have a CARB EO number.
Ford everest 2.0 turbo ?
what about fitment on my 2018 mustang GT?
coyote Kelly should’ve got an s197
Does this fit the 2018 Ford Raptor?
topomoto01 5.0 and 5.2 engines, did you pay attention to the video?
I love your parts I hate living in California they won’t let us use this part. I would at some point hope you guys can answer a question for me will the Ford performance power pack stage 2 get water on the cold air intake? due to the hood vents in a 2015 Mustang GT?
Bill Lovest leave the Communist state.
HighCountry Pioneer I’m seriously thinking about it.
This part is Legal in California
because it doesn't increase Exhaust Emissions
Escape for Mankind is Keith Johnson that’s going to be a negative ghosts rider
m.smogtips.com/OnlineForumQuestionDetails.cfm?Question_ID=3483&Question=Can-I-Install-an-Oil-Catch-Can-and-Pass-Smog
New Cars Sold in California
are Exempt from Smog Testing for the first 6 years
You can see my videos on the installation on a 2018 5.0 F-150. Due to additional plumbing on the frond right side of the engine I mounted it off the battery box. Dual injector nozzles or not it does collect oil. A claim on the the Ford video should have stated the owner is altering a Federal mandated emission system which more and likely against the law in your state. If you look at these on a Ford site they are for "off road" only. It is wise to keep the original hose to reinstall before visual emission testing is done in your state. I will keep mine
Why don‘t you SHIP THIS THING FROM THE FACTORY?!!111!
Bas Tee cost lol they’re not going to add another 100 dollars per car think about that times 30000 cars a year, when this is only needed with guys who rev to the moon all the time or under boost
Because they cant even get most people to check/change their oil much less check and empty the catch can. It's obviously not good if you let these things collect oil until they are full.
@@GSXRKLLR dude ur so right. Most dont do needed maintenence in the right schedule. So when this fills up because someone didnt check the oil separator then the flow will dump all that oil into the intake at once and kaboom. Dead engine
@@darwinLee81283 It's prolly amazing how many people dont even know how to find...or even use their hood release these days.
Probally cost $5 to make.
Maior gatinha !!!! (Nice ;-) )
While it is a nice looking oil separator that looks stock, in my experience it doesn't work very well. I installed one of these on my 2014 Mustang GT and ran it for awhile. When I checked the outlet line going to the intake, the hose had just as much liquid oil in it as did the factory line. While it did catch oil, it was also letting a lot of oil pass through. I ended up taking it off and putting on a different brand that works better. For as much money as these cost, I was pretty disappointed in it's performance.
Mine works fine, I have a 2014 GT and check the hoses every oil change as well. Maybe the one you had somehow let more oil through. I never unscrew allen screws, I empty like it was designed to be emptied (like shown in video )
@@jdigitalseven7 I don't know. I bought it when it first came out so maybe they made the filter better later on. I didn't unscrew the screws to remove the top to empty. I disconnected and emptied through the inlet port on the separator.
Should this be called a catch can? Usually air oil separators heat the caught oil and send it back to the sump...
Alright babe
I love Ford but I am disappointed that an oil-air seperater would be released for coyote engine before ecoboost. My 2014 F-150 ecoboost is in need of one, since its GDI not PFI. Valves are dirty and still you do not have a cleaning solution. FORD please create an oil-air seperater for 2011-2014 F-150 ecoboost.
