Why is it so hard for me to find this stuff when i need it but I can easliy find it when i dont
Same here, I searched 3 villages for a shovel and found it after I have up in a random farm somewhere, there was a single building.
Being a beginner in Dayz kinda sucks. U cant craft rope with rags anymore. I had 6 perfect rags. then by axe broke....
Building a single door is too hard ngl.
@@levi_exiled8579 you can craft rope with rags ? i literally did it earlier, you need 6 rags in hand and hover over another 6 rags and you can craft rope (12 rags total)

The thing that drives me crazy watching these videos is it makes it seem like nails are common. Like they just spawn all over. Nails by far are the hardest to get.
Playing official servers is like hardcore don’t bother building a base it’s too hard and epoch was brought after so doesn’t blend well with gameplay. Best to play community servers where loot is more common to have a sandbox experience as apposed to horror
@@NormadYTit's not that bad, you just have to find the chicken at your shore town, get that fire going, maybe even craft a fishing rod and you'll be fine to go inland. i used to hate official servers because i would walk for hours then die, but after a while i tried seeing it as a "speedrun" to inland the "proper way" and ended up having tons of fun sniping assholes with a tundra
Or just apple trees I get about 30 apples in silichney or elektro in under 10mins and can go anywhere

I’m always finding nails on official😂 but that’s only cuz I’m not building a base. When I do build one, no more nails, I’m certain

I like how I already know how to build a base and I’ve been playing Dayz for almost a year and I still watched this video. Keep up the great content polvo you can make anything in Dayz interesting
While I do appreciate the very basics for the newcomers, I'd love to see a base raiding vet as yourself give some tips on good base locations.
What locations you find to be the best in regards to not being found while also being not too far to reach as freshspawns but mainly what buildings you find easiest to fortify efficiently, with low visibility from the outside. Is it appartment buildings? Industrial halls? Castle towers?

Novodmitrovsk just west of Svet seems to be very common for bases and isn't too far for freshies. Almost every server I have played has bases built in the big sheds/warehouses located there and has good vantage points. Hope that helps👍
I don't think someone like Zesty really makes bases for himself so much as he realizes the game is more about continuously dying and respawning and then finding other people's bases and taking their stuff (or finding the people themselves). He also said he doesn't really ever leave the coastal areas unless someone in his group finds a base somewhere that's worth trying to raid. He generally stays close to spawn because he's so heavily involved in PvP.
I got 70 Days of playtime and still always enjoy your videos, haven't been able to play for months and miss it so much.
I actually came across a 3 digit combination lock the other night. I had heard it was easy to crack them so I figured you know what screw it I will give it a try.
I figured the code out after exhausting like half of the possible combinations in about 10 minutes. They are a joke. ALWAYS use a 4 digit combination lock. I don't even pick up the 3 digit locks anymore.
I needed this like 2 years ago, this will help noobs become pro noobs 👍 the tips for our lazy asses was gold haha

Hahaha I so fucking needed this I've got a bunch of the items to build now and I'm feeling pretty good just gotta grab some pliers and a 4 key. You made this simple af and helped a bunch. Once I'm off work I'm finding these pliers and going to work for real!
Remember kids : double skin all your watchtowers, then you can double up barbed wire and get double cuts!
Also, it gives way more durability 🙂👍

@@BrickPB build the watchtower base with no walls, then build walls 1 foot out from the base, attach barbed wire then build your watchtower walls and attach barbed wire.
Anyone who glitches through the first walls gets trapped and double (or more) cut from the layered barbed wire.
Use sheet metal on the inner walls if possible too.
Also, you can make gates behind walls that swing outwards from your base and through your outer walls, attach barbed wire to these gates and operate them from inside as swinging killing pushing deterrents to anyone by your walls. We had a central corridor in one of our bases that had swinging barbed wire gates the entire length of it, almost impossible to push with a squad if you don’t have nades!

Will the barb wire cut you when you are tryna unlock your own base?
Only if you get too close to it. But u can safely punch in the numbers without getting cut if you keep a good distance!

This video is a bit old. You can use field shovels too, you can also do the hammering with a meat tenderizer if you don't have a hatchet.
Polvo knows that it's in his best interest to teach people how to make bases. More bases for him to raid lol

The structure stays until destroyed or after 45 days I believe. Whichever happens first!

dayz should use base building plus mod officially for the real game. its so much better. just need to balance the way people get explosives to blow in.
