5:28 "So, Still being alive is step one. Then ripping Mox Diamond off the top and Smallpoxing my opponent could be the way forward." He can't keep getting away with this.
My love for pox is only eclipsed by my love for Bant Control. Bosh is a merciful man and hasn't uploaded these two decks back to back. I think the hype would kill me.
11:34 tbh null rod was disabling like 1 card in your deck and disabled their helms altogether, I would've kept the card that stopped their own win con around
Honestly I’m not even sure they had Helm for that reason, I don’t know if I’d be playing Null Rod in that deck at all. I think we would have seen Dauthi if it was. I suspect it was just a black opposition agent deck.
Smallpox is my favorite magic card of all time. I don't know why. Does it make me a bad person? Anyway, I love legacy pox. The thing I dislike the most in this game is stuff like 4-color omnath and these vomit-pile, resource-building, ignore-your-opponent types of decks, and smallpox is literally the opposite of that lol EDIT: That last game against the red deck, needle on the seal might have been better. The spell pierce play (or not) was much harder to choose without using hindsight. Tough game though. You could easily have lost a different way if you played around the things that you did lose to.
49:07 you just talked how Urza's saga is not good enough and that you need more mana and going to tutor up the mox diamond. You could saved second saga in hand for a mox diamond discard. That would put you up 1 mana as you coudn't afford to use saga anyway.
At 46:10 you have a premium smallpox opportunity. They can't saga in response, so they are left with either float mana, make a karnstruct after it resolves and next turn sac saga, going down to 1 karnstruct, 1 mystery artifact and 0 lands. They can't make second karnstruct because they are a mana short. Or they need to sac the saga to the smallpox.
This might sound counterintuitive, but G5M1 in your Upkeep, make a Construct and then hold Priority and Waste the Saga so they don't get to search. It doesn't matter with the scant amount of tutor targets in this deck, but in other games that you have a more robust Saga package, that might be a thing to keep an eye on.
Pox is one of my all time fave cards in the game mostly because I enjoyed building wonky discard decks. Not normally consistent decks but fun when they go off.
Seems like you beat burn if you fire your counters when you could. In my experience counters versus burn are a - use whenever you can without forfeiting your tempo - due to life point all being “equal”
Sure, if you know they’re burn. This was a midrange mono red brew of some kind. Feels bad to spell piece chain lightning then get buried by fable. With perfect hindsight that game is a breeze, but they had brewer’s advantage
Now that you mention it I'd love to see a Currency Converter deck. I've just seen it in commander where I really liked it so I'm curious to see how it goes in legacy.
14:30 very interesting situation - the library is good early but so is the hymn, if the opponent keeps a one lander for whatever reason and you hit it you basically win the game, you can also really disrupt combo this way. I'd go with hymn but I'm not saying it's the right answer
I don’t know if it’s been said but you were worried about helm when then had a null rod in play… then you killed null rod making helm leyline alive again?
I haven't played enough legacy to know if this card is good or not, but is Amulet of Safekeeping a viable sideboard option against storm? It would pretty much make a flusterstorm on field and then it has the added bonus of stopping empty the warrens
I wonder if it’s for matchups like delver where you can put it down on the play and utilize your mana turn 1 and then have the choice to pop it to kill a delver/DRC or send it to the face depending on the pace of the game
Comment of the day!! I think this is my favorite pox you've posted. When you have a donation deck with stifle are you just like "I can't wait to say how damn bad stifle is" or are you more like "I can't wait to do the stifle thing even if it's bad!!"
It's a rare pox deck that doesn't mana screw itself. I approve this deck. You can stifle your own uro trigger, on that note you could squeeze dreadnaught into the deck, though it would be card negative disadvantage which uro isn't - maybe swap it for the exploration.
In round no. 2. why did you dredge the loam with your first card draw? If you would dredge with the sylvan library trigger you wouldn’t have to pay 4 life because it was not drawn.
You have to put back 2 cards drawn this turn, doesn’t matter if they came off library. You have to dredge 2 or more cards to start cheating the 4 life.
In that last game, I am a little sus about that Null Rod because it turns off their own Helm. I guess they could have a plan to get rid of it themselves, but I don't know 8void lists that well And I have to agree that Currency Converter would be huge in this list
I'm with you on stifle. It's the worst card until it isn't. Then it's you in multiple instances saying something along the lines of "fuck, I hope they don't have stifle".

Can someone who knows more about legacy tell me why 1x rack isn’t the deck to grab with saga? We’re practically a rack deck already with hymns and pox and Lili, could speed up the clock?
We’re the opposite of a rack deck. We use discard to buy time, then squeeze their resources and leave them dying slowly with a hand full of cards they can’t cast.
Only 1 Saga target other than Mox Diamond (which isn’t really worth counting as a target)? Seems like you want at least one other impactful target besides Foundry with 4 Sagas.
A big creatures that takes multiple cards to cheat into play is not a combo with Smallpox. I have lots of dreadnought decks on the channel though if you want to see that. :)
6 minutes into a legacy video: "We got all these dope blue cards because we are a deck with blue mana in it" {Tell me Blue is the strongest colour without telling me that Blue is the strongest colour}
I think the phrase "you're better at operating on low resources than them" is a little misleading when it comes to Pox. If you average the 60 cards together and score them on "performs well with low resources" you might get a high score, but there are 5 cards that are incredible (Loam and Library) and most of the rest of the deck is just situational cards you need mana to cast. Without those engines you're probably in a *worse* situation than most opponents. Compare to delver where they can cast half their deck with just one land in play, and kill you as soon as they find the second.
Liliana is also good. So is Urza's Saga. If the opponent is so resource-light that they're not doing a lot, Saga is an easy 3-for-1. But yeah, it's true that there's a lot of duds too. You don't want to topdeck Mox Diamond if you have an empty hand .
@@lightworker2956 Both of those things require 3 mana, so at that point I wouldn't say that you're operating on low resources. I agree they're powerful, 1-card engines, but there's a lot of powerful things any deck can do with 3 mana.
