    Man I was there that day, all the wayyyy at the top as usual during those pistons days. About 6-8 years old, 24 now. I'll never forget tho how connected everybody was and how dope the moment was. Chauncey was the last to come out and they brought out the fire again, I can feel it on my face every time. Then the announcer guy goes "Chaunceyyyy... B-B-B-B-Billups." Crazy I had no idea the moment I was in at the time. Crowd used to be so packed every seat was filled. Crazy atmosphere so glad I got to experience especially since Detroit ain't been the same since at all. They can't even fill up the little Caesars arena. I can't believe I never looked this up before to relive it lol but I'm here now leggo

    The thing is that he never wanted to leave in the first place. He wanted to stay with the Pistons and finish his career with them. He told Dumars before he was traded that if he really had to go, he would like to go back to Denver and play for his hometown. Once the Pistons got rid of him, that was officially the end of the Goin’ To Work Pistons. Only Rip, Tayshaun, and Sheed remained from that 2004 championship team. They were still a hell of a team despite the way things ended.

    Why are people comparing Chauncey's return to LeBron's? Chauncey never wanted to leave, he was traded. LeBron just bailed on Cleveland and sold them out on national television. The fans had every right to boo him when he came back. Comparing the way both of them left their teams is stupid because it's two completely different scenarios. Get a clue, people.

  • @seventhsonmedia
    @seventhsonmedia 12 лет назад

    When Billups left, it was strictly business. When LeBron left, he just took off. Whether or not he brought relevance to Cleveland basketball, he deserved what he got.
