- In 2013 we took delivery of our very first Bombardier Q400 NextGen aircraft for WestJet Encore. Here's a video of how it was built, one rivet at a time.

Can't wait to see WestJet fly in and out of CYCD! (Nanaimo)
Looking good WestJet,looking mighty good.
It’s cool how this came up on my feed in 2020 and now I can see how much westjet encore has grown! It’s too bad that flying is kind of dead this year tho 😕
westjet, when ya getting some wide-body aircraft! :D. Would like to do some long haul flights cross the pacific with westjet one day! (maybe like 787 or 777X). .. i think I'm hoping for too much =(
They already have the 767! And besides, the q400 is the best!
Yea my comment is old :P ... 767's to me are old and not fuel efficient
TBH I wish they got the 787 instead of the 767. They're more fuel efficient, and if you fill them up with passengers, they can be cheaper to operate. Which I think westjet is capable of doing.
+Ziggy85 “Ziggmanster” Gaming Flew on one of these Next Gen Q400's about 2 weeks ago. Best Plane I've ever been on, hands down. Beautiful inside, very quiet and smooth. It was also with Westjet. I don't think I'll ever go back to Air Canada. Westjet is my favorite, I love their planes and hospitality.
One thing though with westjet can't really gain points with them through other airlines; at least I don't think. If they were a part of OneWorld and maayyybe SkyTeam, i'd fly them more. I dont usually fly Air Canada on international flights. I tend to fly on other star alliance carriers.Domestically, either but, work has been paying those.
I also flew in a WestJet Q400; it was a pretty nice flight. I had no complaints.
but the CS100 is just over double the price of the Q400 and isn't in production yet where as the Q400 is in production. Business wise the Q400 makes a little more sense.
Why the Q400??? :( It would have been so much better to get Bombardiers CS aircraft. The CS100 would be better than the Q400...
400 mph vs 500mph for jet, but uses half the fuel of a jet. Gate to gate time is the same under 500 miles. Makes perfect economic sense.
I want to see tHis plane in real life not on a computer
