      Hmmmm... I did answer, but I don't see the response... yes, you could use a 5 or 5.5 hook, but the work will be more dense, although you can stretch the finished shawl as much as possible when wet, and achieve a more open stitch.

    • @Hectanooga1

    How many chain I have to start with for a large capelet? Please!

    • @Hectanooga1
      @Hectanooga1  4 года назад

      It all depends on the size hook being used, and the size yarn being used. You will need to work a foundation chain that will sit comfortably around your neck. It does not matter how many stitches, the length of the chain is what is important. So work a chain, then put it around your neck and see if it fits comfortably around.

    Emi..l how could I make this same stitch ruffle?

    • @Hectanooga1
      @Hectanooga1  6 лет назад

      Hi Lady Duchess. You could create a ruffle in 2 ways.
      1. Work 3 times the number of chain 5 loops along the bottom.
      2. Instead of working loops, you could work triple crochet rows along the bottom,
      working 3 times the number of stitches along the bottom.. so in the chain expanse between the 'v ' stitches, work 3 times the number of the chain, then in the 'v' stitches, work 3 triple crochet in each stitch. I hope that helps!

      Sherry McFadden, If you look at the beginning of the "Comment Section" where we all post our comments to Emi, she has the very first post. If you look at it, it will read: Pinned by Hectanooga1 - Crochet, Knitting, Jewelry, Crafts, Cooking" and it will be inside a black bar. If you click on "Read More," just below it, the whole, written pattern will appear. I hope this helps you out.

      Thanks! I made the capelet by following your video :) I used a nice velvet yarn but it ended up being short because its curling up. Do you have a video of the blocking process? Would it be different for velvet yarns?

    • @Hectanooga1
      @Hectanooga1  4 года назад +1

      @@TR-mk5ov Here's a video on blocking... you may need to saturate it more for velvet. ruclips.net/video/QeOlTEwawkU/видео.html

    • @Hectanooga1
      @Hectanooga1  6 лет назад +1

      1 to 2 skeins of Red Heart Super Saver, depending on the size being made.
      Small = 1 skein, M...: might be able to make it with one skein, all other sizes: 2 skeins.
