So glad someone asked this as I was having the same problem and was just about to unravel everything and start again! Instead I kept going and it worked :)
I'm finding my slip stitch join looks a bit messy though... a bit loose or something. It doesn't line nice all nice and neat. Any tips?

Are you saying that you need to crochet around the bottom and the top to make 124 DC? In the tutorial you didn't mention that so it seems a little confusing.

I kept getting confused until I just made myself keep going to get to the chain 3 to slip stitch, then I realized that in order to get back to it, I was actually making two rounds or more or less a figure "8" with my double crochet rounds in order to get back to the chain 3. I kept thinking of rounds as a single trip around, DUH! I made a mini one and it turned out great. Thank you.

Glad it worked. Yep, that's why it's called a "mobius" after the mathematical "mobius" concept that twists in the same manner.

@@mama2one1 🤯what magic is this?!! Thank you SO much for taking the time to post this comment. A math whiz I am not. I was about to give up on this pattern, so I started reading the comments. Everyone saying how easy this is… and here I was, stymied. Then I found this jewel… and now it’s working for me! ❤️

This is such an easy and neat pattern! I did have the problem of getting through the round and finding my CH-3 on the bottom, immediately believing that I'd messed up somehow, but your comment reminder made me keep going and I quickly figured out what I was doing. Beware the crisis of confidence--if your CH-3 isn't where you think it should be, keep going with your double crochets. You'll figure it out after that first completed round. Just finished mine today!

This is so beautiful! Working on my second one now, here's a tip for a seamless look:
*Instead of ch 3* at the beginning of a round, *ch 1 and dc into the same working stitch*
When joining the round ignore the ch 1, *slst into the top of the dc, ch 1, dc into same stitch*
Otherwise continue with the pattern as normal! Thanks so much

I think it might be worthwhile to mention....when working into the foundation chain, work into one loop, front or back, only. That way, when you get to the part where you don't join/keep going into the underside of the foundation chain, you'll have some nice stitches to work into. :)

Thank you, Donna . . . I have saved this Mobius tutorial as one of my favorites. My shoulders are 46 inches around, so, since I’m using a lighter weight yarn along with a smaller hook, I simply placed my yardstick in front of me in an upright position and crocheted a string of stitches that equaled the circumference of my shoulders. That came to 140 stitches. Your tip for keeping my line straight worked perfectly . . . Thank you, again, with all my heart! God Bless you, Dear One! 😘❤️🌹🕊🙏🏻

I bought a pound of purple and three skeins of purple ombre yarn to make a scarf and hat to go with my purple jacket. This is perfect, I have sloping shoulders and nothing stays on them. I can wear this on top of my jacket or underneath like a sweater/hood combination. I'm using two strands of worsted weight yarn together for a heather affect. And I chained 102 to go around my shoulders. I'll post a picture as soon as I finish. I'm also making a turtle neck to keep my neck warm too. I'm sensitive to the cold, so the combination of the two will be wonderful to wear in Autumn, Winter and early Spring when it's still chilly outside. Thank you for your pattern and videos.

That's part of the mobius concept - you will end up working on both the top and bottom parts. Just keep DC'ing until you reach the beginning CH3.

it was trouble for me too at first. try to think of it as a figure 8, and you have to go ALL the way around.

Great tutorial, I just began one in sock yarn for my five year old granddaughter. We call that stitch Treble here in UK.
    Many thanks.

Hi Naztazia, I made the shawl, followed all instructions with the twist, no problem. But now I just have a round cowl instead of the Moebius twist that was the goal of this project. I'm perplexed as to what went wrong and reticent to unravel three skeins worth of yarn. Signed, Untwisted in Kauai
