I think the fact that Emily chooses to be alone is actually really cool and way better than if she stayed with Victor. Because the moral of the movie if they stay together is “love someone because they have something that you don’t and they make you feel more complete ” but when they part ways the moral becomes “you don’t need to rely on others to love you to make you feel whole or happy”. TBH a lot more kids movies should be showcasing that moral over the first lol.

I love the ending of this movie because to me, Emily’s story isn’t about love. It’s about a spirit trapped by her traumatic past and needing to find closer to move on. She found peace and could finally rest because she accepted what happens to her and saved someone else from the same fate.

I love Emily, but I cannot stand the Victoria slander. Emily as much as I love her literally stole her man and it was wrong. Victor never loved her. Victor and Victoria genuinely start developing a bond for each other. I mean even Emily said that what she had done was wrong. If I love a guy and want to be with him I could never if another girl was already going to be with him. You guys need to remember what Emily said that she was taking another person’s dream. Victoria fought so hard for Victor and almost got married off because of Emily. Like Emily is stunning and is so kind, but sis was definitely in the wrong. She almost ripped away another girl’s dream and had her MARRY another guy she didn’t love. I’m so glad Emily realized that she was in the wrong. That made me love her character so much more. Maturing is realizing that although Emily was lovely girl her actions were selfish. Understandable, but selfish. Which makes me love Emily so much more and the movie more for not letting her end up with Victor. In a way I don’t think Emily even loved Victor. I think she only liked the idea of having a husband because she didn’t know nothing about Victor and the only cute thing she did for him was give him his dead dog back. Victor clearly never even had any romantic feelings for her and kept trying to explain it to her which Emily didn’t want to believe. Even kidnapped Victor when he got away to go see Victoria. I never seen any chemistry with Emily and Victor. The piano scene didn’t really make me ship it since Victoria and Victor had an exact same scene in the beginning of the movie. The only reason Victor was going to die for Emily was more of a friend who cares so much for the other person. I think people just like Emily more because of her backstory and looks. Also the only reason why people thought Emily had more chemistry with Victor was because they had more screen time. Also people forget Victor was so against everything and was basically felt obligated to die for Emily. I wish people would realize the pain Victoria went through. Trying to get people to believe her that Victor was taken by a corpse and only being called crazy. Then having to marry a murderer and then thinking her love was marrying another girl. Like that would break my heart seeing the guy I want marry another girl and I have to be with a greedy man. Poor Victoria almost became the story’s biggest victim. In one of my classes we studied the meaning of infatuation. I think Emily was in a way traumatized by never getting married and getting killed. I think she only likes the idea of having a husband. Of course, it would seem that Emily had more chemistry with Victor because she snatched him before Victoria could even bond with him. Also Emily was horrible at consent and always kept crying like a child when Victor told her he didn’t want to marry him. I don’t understand how people think they’re cute. It gives me weird vibes. Like she kidnapped him from his actual girl then held him hostage. Would constantly make him feel guilty even though she was the crazy one. Got very angry when he tried running away. Like do you guys not see what’s wrong here? I don’t like using this phrase, but honestly if the roles were switched I don’t think this would be cute. Like imagine a guy asking girl to literally die for him. Gives me crazy stalker vibes. Also it was so much more powerful when Emily finds peace in just getting justice for herself and is okay being single. I love when she turns into a bunch of butterflies. Like showing that the key to her inner peace wasn’t a husband, but getting justice for her death. That was the best ending and I love the ending. Emily’s character development was amazing. Realizing that if she forced Victor to kill himself and marry him she was going to be as bad as the guy who killed her. Talking another’s dream for one’s own benefit/happiness.

I always thought Victor and Emily were soulmates but Emily and Victor are kindred spirits. V and V liked each other immediately, even tho they didin't had that much interaction with each other they felt something special in them.
Víctor and Emily loved music and both of them could have died because of love. Emily loved Lord. B so much she ran away and died for (and by) him. Víctor could not process the thought of the one he loved marrying another man so he basically agreed to k1ll himself. Before hearing Emily, old man and maggot talking about the vows he looked sadly at the dry flower Victoria gave him as he never stopped thinking about her. He never fully loved Emily, but he cared for her at the end he was still firm about his promise of marrying Emily. But once Emily got avenged and learn to let go of Víctor she was finally free. She never needed no man to marry her in order to be free, she needed closure, and the kindness of someone who showed her how true loved looked like (as she never experienced it with Lord. B).
Great video by the way 💙

Apparently it's so good to where people sincerely thought he was using CGI, not stop motion.

With Victor and Victoria, I felt like you could feel the connection they started, but since he got snatched by Emily, they didn't get much time to get to know each other. With Emily, she did care for him, and u could see that, but at the end of the movie, she realized that the same thing Barkis did to her was what she was about to do to Victoria and decided to let Victor go because the love was one sided until Victor had decided to give up his old life for Emily. This movie I feel is the very definition of "If you love someone, let them go"

You know what’s even more impressive about the stop motion of this movie? The puppets had mechanical parts underneath the faces to make them more life like, they actually made full on robotic heads to change expressions. You don’t see this in most movies because it’s like 10 times the work from a normal stop motion production which is already intense work as it is.

I'd say his culpability is obvious because the story is not centered around the mystery but around the tragedy of what happened to Emily. We're supposed to feel bad for Victoria because we know he killed Emily before. There would be no suspense build up unless we know he's a killer, and it wouldn't feel as good when Emily gets her revenge.
That being said, I do enjoy a good mystery and would've liked to see where the story would've gone if that was the focal point of the story.

Every other stories about the corpse bride (I forgot their titles) ended up Emily (the corpse bride) giving up/ leaving victor with different reasons. At first, when I watch the movie, I also love Emily so much that I was so upset when she didn't ended up with Victor, but I respect the story and it's theme. I love this movie so much.

But excellent job on THIS review! This movie is criminally underrated, and I'm SO happy to see it get some love.

I think the point is that both Victor and Emily choose the other one for the wrong reasons. Emily just wishes to be the bride she was meant to be and for most of the story ignores Victors clear discomfort, not out of cruelty but out of desperation. And when Victor decides to go with her, he is really just giving up. He just heard that Victoria is marrying someone else and what else is there for him upstairs? He has just seen that death isn't really something to fear, so why not give up on life and settle wit Emily?
But for both, they did it more for themselves than the other person and that just can't last

Rebecca Rose: *goes from anti-necrophilia to shipping Emily x Victor in under 15 mins*
15:56 - no, no, don’t wish for Emily not to have a conscience, we love her because she’s NOT a sociopath.
Emily deserves someone who will love her for herself, with his whole heart...
...And despite his best intentions, _that could never be Victor._
Victor liked and cared about Emily. But he _loved Victoria._
Emily deserves SO much better. But she is absolutely right: she would never find peace or true happiness in stealing it from someone else.
Also, as amazing and beautiful, as she is. Victoria is just as incredible too, in her own way. I think she is seriously underrated, and it low-key hurts that she gets so much disrespect and even hate for Not Being Emily.
