Actually i Drew was always going to play Casey Becker. Drew read the script and loved the idea of being the first one to be killed off. Funny enough pretty much all the male actors in the film auditioned to play Billy. including Mathew Lillard and Divd Arquette. David Arquette was considered for the role of Billy, but then he read the script and decided he would rather play Dewey which worked out as it allowed Skeet Ulrich to play the role.
Actually she knew she was gonna play Casey Becker from the beginning. She liked the idea of such a big actor name like Drew to die first. Her face is big on the posters to trick everyone. I was only 2yo when this film came out but when i first seen this i was sure as hell surprised.

However shortly afterwards she was faced with other commitments which meant she would no longer be available to play Sidney. Because she didn’t want to totally leave the project (she had loved the script and had actually approached the studio herself to request the role) she asked to play Casey instead. Wes Craven then approached Neve Campbell to play Sidney instead (he had seen her in The Craft I believe). And yeah, David Arquette was indeed approached for the role of Billy. Wes Craven was actually reluctant to have him audition for Dewey since they had actually conceived the role to be more of an ‘hunky action hero’, but David played him more goofy and funny so that convinced then and they slightly adjusted the role for him.

Watching all of these reactions made me realize that Wes made it all too obvious who the killers were 😂 and the fact that almost everyone guesses right on the first watch and the movie still is as legendary as it it shows something.
This was the coolest movie in the world when it came out and everybody wanted to see it. I stood in line outside my local Blockbuster for about 2 hours the day the VHS dropped and watched it ASAP. One of my all-time favorite home video viewing experiences.
Anyone else see Stu’s face when Sidney runs into him. 23:00. Looks upset like he doesn’t want to do it anymore but pushes it down and smiles to continue their plan. Or he just saw Tatum and was horrified by her death.

You can tell when it’s Stu and when it’s Billy wearing the costume based on how they hold up the knife before they try to stab someone. Stu uses both hands and Billy holds his with one hand at an angle.
Stu also stabs his victims while Billy tends to slice his victims. It’s pretty cool looking at the little things that distinguish Billy and Stu as two different killers.

This has been one of my favourite horror movie franchises since I was a child! It was literally my first horror movie at 4 (I watched it wiht my mom, aunt, and cousins) and it has stuck with me since! And I was so honoured last year as I went to a con and I got the opportunity to meet Matthew Lillard (Stu), Skeet Ulrich (Billy), and Jamie Kennedy (Randy) and got them all to sign my Scream shirt! It was a memorable experience and I loved getting to meet them!

In a brief scene before that Sidney is roaming around her house and we see her check that closet and a scary noise occurs. It’s hinting that the killer was already in the house and was just waiting till night time
Really enjoyed your reaction. This is my favorite in the franchise. Stu macher is my favorite character and killer. He was a lap dog to a point but he was a complete psychopath, and he enjoyed killing people. It's gonna be interesting to see how you like the sequels.

Really enjoyed your reaction. This is my favorite in the franchise. Stu macher is my favorite character and killer. He was a lap dog to a point but he was a complete psychopath, and he enjoyed killing people. It's gonna be interesting to see how you like the sequels.
