Hey guys.
In this DCS World Simulator video I'm in the MiG29 Fulcrum trying to take out a patrol of 2 F16 Vipers protected by 3 Patriot Ground To Air missiles Sites, Hope you guys enjoy!
I love playing simulators, I started with Arma 3 and then I saw DCS World. I also enjoy War Thunder , Battlefield , Ghost recon, Squad , Rome total war, Microsoft Flight Simulator and more. I also enjoy World War II games including il-2 In DCS World i found all the jets that i wanted to fly in a simulator the F 16 Viper , FA 18 Hornet , F 15 Eagle , A 10 Warthawg , SU 27 , Mig 29 , P 51 , Spitfire , AH 64 Apeche , Heuy and more... And if you will download MODs the options are endless: F 22 Raptor, SU 57 , A 4 Skyhawk , SR 71 Blackbird , Rafale, Gripen and the list goes on.

On the first part of the journey
I was looking at all the life
There were plants and birds and rocks and things
There was sand and hills and rings
The first thing I met was a fly with a buzz

After two days in the desert sun

And the story it told of a river that flowed
Made me sad to think it was dead

You were always on point with the cinematography, but with the soundtrack you've added, you've brought it up a notch.
The Mig-29 is a gorgeous jet. All jets are marvels of engineering, but Gen-5 jets give up some aesthetics for stealth, imo, but some of the most beautiful jets of all time are the Gen-3 and 4 jets.

I tend to agree with this. Flankers are beautiful. Russian jets, in general, are hot. Not saying they're better jets, just they are superior in aesthetics.
@@lowtdaveTo me, the Fulcrum and Flanker are the only Russian aircraft that don’t look like they are made of used tractor parts.
@@no_regerts5176you cant tell me the foxhound and the foxbat dont look beautiful. It doesnt have the curves of a flnaker or fulcrum, but it looks good in its own way
@@lowtdave Yeah, Flankers are great. The only time I have ever been near a modern jet was when I was staying near Miramar NAS and say an F-14 take off and saw the wings sweep back. Oh, another time at Honolulu when two F-16s landed so our 747 couldn't take off. Dunno why military jets would be using a civilian airport. Pretty cool though.
When you see just how easily an engagement can go either way: a slip up here, an extra few seconds there, you have to respect the guys who are doing this for real.
which is why in real life its all about preserving the plane, top gunning it is for the movies, in real life, you would lob missiles and return to base.. no dogfights, no closing in etc.. and nation with more money to dump missiles, fuel, maintenance into plane wins..
@@keepwalking6041 In real life its about getting air superiority so you can send in ground attack aircraft to destroy tanks and logistics. Throwing missiles around does not win wars
@@oddursigurdsson9637 u r getting ahead of yourself.. yes, you must first win air war, if equal enemy than throwing missiles and doing what i said is true, if enemy is weak, simply overrun him with better BVR, missiles and he looses and then you employ CAS and win the war.. but reality with equal enemy is not so simple

4:04 Mig29S already had datalink. ED simply didn't bother to implement it as it's different from the su27/j11/su33 one if I recall correctly.
The mig29 is my favorite jet to fly in DCS, its just insanely powerful. Its basically a rocket with missiles
If you had made it back, your crew chief would have wondered how you got blades of grass in your leading edge slats and your callsign would have changed to "Weedeater."

That’s the problem with the Mig29 especially in multiplayer. I love it so much but the radar and lack of datalink means your situational awareness is just so much inferior to many other aircraft.
If it had at least datalink then it would be lethal.
Your episodes are half tactics and half cinematography. Great job man.

I appreciate you posting a video even when things don't go your way in the missions/battles. DCS is HARD. I was flying the Jeff the other day and got shot down by a Tomcat because I was tunnel visioned on a less threatening MiG-23. Why? Because my brain: "Har har, I make MiG-23 go boom with SD-10."

I bought Sinai this weekend - and it is an absolute bargain in terms of just how excellent it is....hugely satisfying. And put in some good flight hours in the FC3 MiG-29 as well, its an awesome fighter.

Amazing combat with some cinematographic theme on it. I was wondering if you can ever make a BVR and dogfight scenes in that same jet, but against a Felon. Differentiating both jets with similar rates of turns and tech, I once thought that the MiG-29 can possibly counter the Su-57 after merging. I suggest you to do this again, LS, but against a 5th Gen Fighter. Thanks!
Nice video.. Im kind of new to DCS but I can fly my F-18 (very little practice though, mostly theory and solo training). Im considering starting to learn the Mig-29 because its is a beautiful jet.. F-18 has a lot of guide content, but I havent found much for the 29.. Any recommendations?
MIG29M2 have the datalink screen + Optimize fuel consumption management. I think its not going to be difficult task for modders to add it to one of Core Modules .
The only problem with the mig29 is the lack of hardpoints, mig35 is the epitome of the mig29, it has 2 more hardpoints and even more thrust because why not.
actually the mi29M2 version is very good, aesa radar, 4 hardpoints on each wing, using lightweight alloys and composite materials making it lighter and less radar reflective..but most of major issues get resolved by SMT, which is conversion of normal mig29 to SMT version with fuel hump, better radar-no aesa though.. it makes it very cheap to get mig29 with much bigger range and duration and better employment of weapons-laser, guided, etc..

Out of all the planes, MiG-29 is my favorite. It can get nose on in ways you wouldnt think with a trained pilot.
In "the Afterburn" podcast they interviewed a retired Mig-29 pilot from India. He talked with extreme confidence about its capabilities.

@@antilarge7860 Indian MIG 29 have smoked Pakistani F16s in fights on a number of occasions. Another ignorent comment from a fanboy who doesn't know about real world combat and relies on video games for information.
@@antilarge7860 Indian Fighter pilots do very well in their Warsaw Pac fighters, even against US Navy and Air Force wargames. Proof it is the pilot ant the jet.

Just wondering, maybe the TWS2 mode of the MiG-29S can help you keep better track of the bandit group and even shoot two missiles at them at the same time? Nice try though dude.

Do you think DCS would be that attuned to detail that you possibly brushed ground in beginning and caused the center tank release to fail? Or coincidence??love the content bro keep it up👍🏼
More likely pulled too many G's and tank got wedged.
Both wrong, you need to fly straight to jettison the center tank, it's to prevent it from damaging the engines, you seem to forget it's literally shoved between the nacelles.

Soviet aircraft are so underrated. Of course through the cold war especially in America everything is always "we have the best X in the world!" lots of hype and lots of tearing down our adversaries capabilities because that's just the nature of propaganda and warfare, and of course anything Soviet was always the enemy who dies in any media, movie or video game. It created a really false impression of their capabilities being vastly inferior when it really didn't reflect reality. The Soviets had some amazing military tech in their days.
I'd say you cannot go wrong with fc3 pack.

What we really need is a MiG-29XL. Stretched and with the cranked wing, that might increase the range to adequate.

@@denanwt It's an overall larger aircraft, not just a stretched, low induced drag -29.
For starters, it relies on a whole lot more engine than the -29.
The range is fine, the lack of hardpoints is the issue here. You can put 2 more tanks on the wings it will have more fuel and range then a f16. The newer versions of the mig29 have 2 morw pylons on the wings to solve this issue. So you're mig29xl is literally a mig35 or mig29m

How does it not jettisoning the fuel tank reflect on the MiG-29 as a aircraft? DCS doesn't model random malfunctions, that's probably just a keybind issue in the video game...
I don’t think this is a jet issue. I think this is a longshot, not knowing his key binds issue.
He either pressed the wrong key or he was in the wrong position. The tank doesn't detach unless you are flying straight to prevent it from hitting the engines.

To drop the drop tank you need to fly level and not pull. I believe you can be mach 1+ but you need to be level.

MiG-29C has R-77s and somewhat longer range, I find MiG-29A of a greater challenge to fly against F-15s, etc.
I don’t even use the burners in my fulcrum hardly ever

The Russian planes are only held back by investments into them compared to the American planes. I honestly reckon if they had the same level of funding, built from the same materials and had the same avionics as the American planes they would be better planes.
Mig35 and Su35 with avionics from France and Israel would make amazing planes.

I do wonder if the Indians will eventually arming all their planes with the F414-GE-400 instead of Russian designs. As the new tech transfer contract for the engine, gives India one better all around jet fight engines in the world. Especially with thrust to weight and fuel efficiency. Image an India MiG-29 with F414-GE-400 engines along with other Super Hornet like upgrades.

Yes, they were still using tubes and relays in their electronics in the late 90s
Because ED refuses to upgrade Red Air Fighters to their modern standard instead it placates the US Fighter fanboys, so much so that in multi player fights a mig or flanker takes off and is immediately dodging AMRAAMS from multiple directions.

@@ryancawdor8083 Tell that to the USAF general who was extremely impressed by the performance of the Indian Airforce Su30 that he took a ride in recently. ED gives fully updated avionics and weapons to Blue Air and doesn't to the Red air aircraft. Have you seen the instrument panel or cockpit of the latest Migs or the Flanker that have been in service for over a decade? Look it up. Full Digital glass cockpit, updated and new weapons and digital FCS, completely superior in every way to the 70-80s versions currently in game. That's my point.
@@rodneypayne4827 Seen them in person. I mentioned elsewhere the Indian pilots are far above other 3rd world pilots. aircraft isnt much difference in performance with only glass cockpits.
