I love how after I sent a question about cup pain, I got a very helpful email back and then saw that this was uploaded! Never seen better customer service. ❤️
I had been using a cups for about 5 years and they wouldn't stop leaking. I tried all the tips and tricks I could find. I had a lot of pain on my bladder and cervix combined with more cramping and heavy bleeding too. I should note I have diagnosed endometriosis and a tilted uterus. After a lot of research this last cycle and talking to my OBGYN I went out and got some of the SoftCups to see if a disc would be better. It was amazing! I went ahead and purchased the Lumma disc in two different sizes to try for my next cycle. I think not all bodies can do cups and that is okay and I am so glad I discovered discs.
@Not On Wasted Time No Endometriosis is a medical diagnosis from years of symptoms and a surgery to confirm. The same with a tilted uterus it was spotted on ultrasound and MRI. Cups simply don't work with how my anatomy is. If you think you have either of those you should consult your doctor.
Which size of lumma disc fit you and what age are you? I feel like i have the same tilted uterus because i felt discomfort with stem cups (the cup tilted and poked, very uncomfortable) and switched to stemless .. and I'm still not feeling good about it .. the lack of stem is good but I can feel cramps and like i have something inside of me ...while sitting .. Maybe the cups size is big for me bcz the brand only makes single size cups with different firmness .. I just dont understand what to use and i want to leave pads
@@idmeghaburnwal I will be 40 this year, have one child naturally and the L works great for me it is not my favorite disc, my goldilocks is the Nixit. When I do use the Lumma the L works great.
THANK YOU. I was in so much pain 😭😭😭. Turns out my cup was too small and was succioning against my cervix hard. Put in a bigger cup and immediately felt better. I could cry of joy.
@@PeriodNirvana I’m a teen and is it ok to get the saalt teen cup? I’m tired of feeling Niagara Falls using pads so I’m hoping that cups will make me happier!
First time menstrual cup user here! Just tried it today and as a tip for relaxing I put some music on and it helped me to relax enough to get it in and out, and after trying 2 or 3 times to get it in the first time I was able to get it in on the first try the second time around.
I just learned that I wasn't breaking the seal properly. Went to the bathroom and tried until I figured it out. This is my first time using a menstrual cup. I'm using the Diva Cup model 0. I love these videos. So informative and empowering.
This video is so awesome! I wish it was around when I started my journey with menstrual cups about seven years ago. I also remember being obsessed with checking my cup the first years, if it was all the way inside or if it was open properly and I pulled it out every time I checked and my poor vagina got super sore. Before menstrual cups I hated periods I thought it was awful but now it’s like my favourite time in the month! And there’s so much to learn and I feel so much more in tuned with my body. I really love the work you do💛
Thank you SO much for putting this info out there! I experienced pain with my cup and couldn’t find a single resource to help me. I ended up switching from a Cup to a disc and all my issues went away! I had high pressure after insertion, and during wear as well as a sore cervix leading to very painful intercourse. Haven’t fixed the issue with pushing on my urethra but I’ll take that over all the pain.
My cup causes me a lot of pain. I just thought that's how they were. The price for a more convenient period experience. Now I have to do some troubleshooting.
I’m working through vaginismus with a pelvic floor physical therapist, and one of my goals is to be able to use a cup or disc comfortably. Your information has been super helpful so far, especially since there are so many options out there.
I tried using a few different cups, firm and soft, and I couldn’t make anything work. The soft cup wouldn’t seal and were so difficult to open. They leaked constantly, and I would get so frustrated with trying over and over. The firm cup suctioned to my cervix I think and was so painful. I couldn’t get it to not suction to my cervix. I switched to a disc and absolutely love it. I bought a second one through Period Nirvana, and I’ve had almost no issues from day one.
did you try twisting the cup while it was inside? with the soft cup, i had the same problem. however, it can just be your cervix :) how are you finding the disk? what are the differences between disks and cups?
@@bsweet9797 Unfortunately, some people's bodies are just not meant for a cup and that's completely okay! I'm glad you found something that worked for you 💗
Okay so I have some questions. Since you experienced the cup suction pain, I am guessing you have a low-ish cervix during your period. How did you determine what size disc you need? There’s 3 sizes available for Lumma discs, most people go for large or medium. The large is equivalent size to disposable discs, there are no medium disposable discs available. (Google “menstrual disc sizes”, you’ll see what I’m talking about) Which disc do you use? I want to get a better idea of what works for a low/medium cervix! I’m also wondering if it’ll stay in place, and how to prevent it from leaking
Oh also! Does it affect your bowels? Can a menstrual disc poke against your anus/intestines and cause bowel obstruction? I haven’t seen much information on this topic of discs
Thank you so much! I have been struggling trying out a menstrual cup and needed some advice. While listening to you, I hadn't even realized how tense my muscles were in a psychological reaction to the insertion of the cup. Mind blown. Thank you again!
Thanks! First time user, just tried as going on boat and swimming tomorrow. First try i thought it had to be in more and oh i felt like i had to pee! Getting out i could feel the suction, i should have left it but really felt the need to pee. Tried second time and pushed higher in, the feeling to pee wasn’t as bad but i will defs try your tip to make sure im all good for tomorrow! Dont want any leakage. Ta
Thank you for your answers! I’m only on day two of my cup using journey - and everyone keeps saying wait wait wait to cut the stem. After using tampons for almost twenty years, I’m very comfortable fishing one out if I don’t pull out the string or something, so I am confident I can remove the cup no issue without a stem. Thank you for giving me the knowledge and the comfort that the stem is what is the issue and how to remove it. Thank you!
I also kept taking out my menstrual cup and reinserting it back and forth when it doesn't open up perfectly the first time I used it, now I'm more comfortable and less scared to just push it higher and fix it when it's already inside and check around for any dents! So happy ^^ Thank you so much for your videos!
I tend to have pains if the cup is inserted incorrectly (dull ache around cervix) or sometimes even sharp pains during wear (usually in mornings with diva.) Thanks to your vast ammount of resources and knowledge, i've swapped to saalt (soft is en route) and im MUCH more comfortable!!
for me (new user btw) it used to hurt a lot at removal. i would pinch the base and it wouldn’t entirely break the seal (diva cup model 1). so, what i started doing, even if its messier, is pulling it down slightly enough to reach the base and walking my finger all the way up to the rim. id fold it and then i could feel the vacuum break when air started to pass (you *will* feel it break. if you haven’t felt it, it hasn’t broken). and that way, i’d remove my cup pain free (sort of, sometimes the diameter is too wide). hope it helps!
I just wanna say. As a transman that hadn't had periods in almost 10 years, I really needed this video. People like me often get irritation and thinning of the internal skin tissues and we sometimes get higher pain and some of us can't lubricate either. Anyway thanks, the folding techniques are nice
This video explains so much information that I literally could not find anywhere else, even though I did quite a bit of reading before trying a cup out. That first attempt was quite a disaster but I may try again using your advice! Tysm.
Bought my first one today. No issues inserting... Buuuuuuut maybe the stem is kinda of annoying me! Gonna try for a full cycle and see! Otherwise I'll try to trim it completely
I have a very sensitive bladder and urethra but also needed high capacity. I love the Super Jennie cups. They can be a little tricky to open since they're so soft, I've had a lot of luck with the 7 fold
I do want to point out that lots of people don't have penetrative sex, so that's not necessarily a factor for all. Also, thank you so much for mentioning vaginismus, because far too many people know nothing about it, and it's a lot more common than people realize.
i tried it today and as a virgin that still has her hymen it hurts soooo much even though i added lube 😭 i had to stop but saw some tips to keep on trying and hymen will loosen up. Hopefully tomorrow will be better
I have never tried a tampon I don't even want to,i don't like the idea of something expanding constantly inside of me,but i love the idea of a menstrual cup,i don't like the feeling of pads but a menstrual cup, from everything ive herd ,and ive done some DEEP research, and i love the concept it sounds conferrable,it WILL NOT expand inside of me constantly! I plan on asking my mom if i can try one
Yeah. Tried my first menstrual cup today. Everything hurt and I did everything wrong. Not a good first impression. The cup I bought was too firm and I put it too high up. I couldn't get it in, it felt uncomfortable at first but I got used to it, however it was hell to take out. I bought a smaller softer one and im really hoping it's gonna work out.
1:08 Well I’m 21 and I have zero experience of the type that is being alluded to here haha. I feel like that really makes a big difference for me and that it makes it much harder to get really any type of feminine hygiene product to go in.
I just got My first menstrual cup yesterday and I sat in the bathroom for about a half hour contemplating with myself if i should use it or not (I'm 17) I finally got the courage to put it in and I had that part down (cuz I use tampons) but what I was trying to figure out is how far I should have it 💧💀 I'm kinda getting it to where it's mostly comfortable but then when I sit or lay down I can still feel like the stem(?) And I don't know if I did something wrong or not 💧×/////× And when I took it out this morning it kinda hurt ( I pinched it and everything 👀💧) so I was worried and I was worried about if it was going to hurt EVERY time I took it out.. After watching this video I kinda understand how to take it out and I found out that there are also the other cup looking thing 💧💀👍
Uhh. Okay, I'm getting way too tmi, but my cup suctions around my cervix, but it doesn't cause any pain. It's very comfortable and I thought it was supposed to do that 😳
My issue is that it hurts to put my fingers in with my cup. It feels like my entrance isn’t large enough for both. I can definitely do it but fingers end up poking, pinching or stretching my entrance so it hurts. I have the smallest size and am using the, labia fold which helps but idk. To be fair this is only my 2nd try after the 2nd day I’m trying this cup. I have no issue putting things in me so this is rly weird for me. Any advice?
I'm 16 years old and i tried a menstrual cup for the very first time, I've already watched a lot of your videos so the insertion and removal was kinda hard at first but i figured it out,i kept it inside for a while and it was pretty ok but as soon as i sit down i start feeling the cup and it even hurts sometimes, any tips for that?am i putting it too low?or should i put it more deep?
Hello, I'm a brand new cup user. I bought the June Cup in size small and large. I have had 4 kids all vaginally. When I'm wearing the cup I can still feel it inside and its just flat uncomfortable. It doesn't hurt by any means, its just very uncomfortable. Both sizes of the cups that have have different firmness and they both feel uncomfortable. Positive, I haven't had leaking and I have only used the cup for 4 days and nights. Yay go me.
I’ve had two vaginal deliveries and while I don’t have pain with the cups, I have a rectocele and cystocele which can be “in the way” when inserting a cup. I got a Cora disc and it is so much easier to insert! I really recommend trying a disc.
I have seen that nobody answers the question: that virgins have a very small hole, and thats why insertion is very painful, it doesn’t even get inside, so please could you tell what should the virgins do as they have a very small hole
I only have one menstrual cup but branching out to some other brands and trying lumma discs. But the only way I can get my cup to work for me is to turn it inside out 🤣
If it works it works! I give that tip to ppl all the time, in fact I just literally told someone on the store chat to try it before buying a new cup. These products aren't cheap, hack it if you can!
Took me 3 days to master the insertion and proper popping inside using your videos. I can't believe I didn't know about the existence of MC before. 🤧 Bye bye to napkin rashes biches.
How did u master it, i have tried insertion, but its very very difficult for me, it doesn’t even go inside, or it pains. I am thinking of switching back to pads, cuz insertion is a problem for me, so if u cud give me some tips on how u mastered insertion that wud be great.
is it okay to cut the stem off a cup? the only discomfort i sometimes feel is the stem rubbing against the lips when I move or sit a certain way making them irritated
Yes, it's addressed in the video specifically because rubbing often causes pain. As long as you can reach your cup you can trim it off entirely! www.tiktok.com/@periodnirvana/video/6979967086164561157?lang=en&is_copy_url=0&is_from_webapp=v1&sender_device=pc&sender_web_id=6878419716596893190
Thanks for the helpful tips. I have just started using the cup and the stem is uncomfortable for me specially when I sit down (which I do most of the day because I am an office worker), but I do use the stem to reach for the cup when taking it out so I am not sure about trimming it. Is there something else that can be done?
yes, it’s not like a tampon where you shouldn’t insert it unless you’re on your period. it’s good to try beforehand like the other commenter has said, as it can get messy if you try on your period and you don’t know what you’re doing. i would say give yourself an hour in the bathroom, relax and try different insertion methods and folds. best of luck
Maybe I’m really sensitive, but the only disc I tried is the soft cup, and I also got cramping. I’m on day 1 with my first ever cup, the Cora cup, and there is still dull cramping. Any advice?
@@coleencastro2769 I hope things work out for you try relaxing and don't keep trying again and again until your vagina becomes sore. Try again LATER if it doesn't work the first time. Again hope you find the right product for you!
I have a Lumma cup, the M+. They are average firmness and only 1,45" on diameter. My cervix is high and I use the labia fold with lubricant, but it always opens too soon and it's a little bit painful. Next time I'll try to insert it with the fold to the side, so when it starts to open it's opening in a more ergonomic direction. But I'm afraid it will hurt for real if I open it completely or in removal time, what do you people think? Edit: I tried to put it in with the fold to the side and it worked! It didn't hurt to put in and didn't hurt whn it opened completely. The only thing left is the removal, but I'm positive it won't hurt, I cracked the code now. I hope it helps someone and I'm editing it again when I have more news.
I tried to put it in by fold on the front, but as u said fold on the side is easy, then i will try that too, so thanks for the tip, and btw how was your removal?
@@shefalichoudhary4325 You are welcome. I won't lie to you, the removal was a little bit painful (nothing unsupportable) because I have POS, so even vase cleaning is painful. I tried a softer and way bigger (something like 1,71" and a 2 in firmness, instead of the Lumma. I use the old Lumma selled in Brazil so it's a 4 in firmness) and the softer one don't hurt at all. I just take it off for the, like, tenth time and it's wonderful. It's a Fleurity 2, they don't sell outside of South America, but the firmness is between a Meluna Soft and a Ruby Cup. It's very close to Meluna Soft. I would try to take Lumma off again while folding it, but because my Lumma M+ hold less and my Fleurity works I don't see a good reason. I wish you good luck, for me what worked was soft cups.
so i have an issue where my cup was pressing on some nerve to the left (kind of felt like my vagina had an extra cavitty or something lmao) but the weird sensation kept affecting my leg and that was really weird. Theres another pain where it feels like a big air bubble got stuck while inserting it and its so uncomfortable..
I used my Merula XL the first time, I had no problem inserting it and even during wear.. the only problem I have is during removal esp if it tends to ride up inside. I have a low-average cervix (but on the heaviest days I tend to be on the low side), so yeah. Do you think it’s possible my cervix was suctioned inside during removal? Any tips to avoid this? I don’t have problem removing my Lena large before. I simply shifted to Merula XL for the capacity…
It's a possibility. Merula XL also doesn't have suction holes though so perhaps the removal was hard it may only be for that reason versus it being suctioned to the cervix.
@@PeriodNirvana thank you for replying! I am also using the OS so I’m quite familiar with the no suction holes although with the OS everything was smooth.. the only problem again is the capacity (it’s still not enough for my heaviest hence me trying the XL). Do you have any tip on how to remove the XL and avoid the suctioning? Thank you once again! Love your videos!
Okay so I'm so irritated right now from my cup because the stem rubbed on my labia and caused an irritation, and yet if I trim it off I can't reach it. I can barely reach it as is. IDK what I'm supposed to do about this, just give up on cups? Why don't they make a cup removal accessory? Sometimes I'm in a sheer rage panic, sweating on the bed trying to get the thing out. I hate it so much. Also after the 2nd day I'm so sore from taking it in and out. IDK how to stop that. I switched to a large soft cup, IDK.
Sounds like you need a longer cup because your cervix sits higher. I'd get the more elongated ones. I don't experience any sensitivity from inserting and removing. As for the tip., if there's a small point from snipping it off I use a nail file to file it down.
I have endometriosis, today I tried again to use a cup but right away I feel menstrual cramps, even though I wasn’t having any before inserting it. Could the pressure from the cup on the vaginal walls, or even the seal and suction cause cramp contractions to worsen? It’s just, so uncomfortable and I feel it so much. I’m using a small soft salt cup, I was never pregnant, I don’t remember my cervix measurements, but I did them for your quiz, and small soft salt is what I was recommended
I usedmy old cup for 3 years and had to take a break cause i lived at my moms and had no chance to clean it and i was always at friends houses and tampons were just better at that time. I gained weight and now i cant use the old cup cause it hurts me. Now i have a new cup and love it like i did with my old one. For me the time of my period is the only time of the month where i dont have to wear liners and thats great for me cause i hate the wet liners in my underwear during the rest if the cycle
I tried a cup today for the first time after an hour i tried to check it out and couldn't find it...then i squated and did the poop reflex and then i managed to get a hold of the stem a tiny bit and with a lot of trying i finally got a good grip and pinced the bottom of the cup and wiggled it out and switched to a pad again...now after removal i am having cramps now...could it be because of the suction?
This may be on your a silly question but- is it ok to leave cup in over night … clean it before 12 hrs and then insert it again for the day? Thinking that during the day you’re likely to take it out more often since you might use the restroom throughout but the nighttime period may be uninterrupted… is that dangerous 🥴?
I know this is 5 months late but yes I believe you can wear it for 12 continuous hours! And I don't believe you have to take it out every time you go to the washroom
Just looking for some tips here. I just got a diva cup and am on my like second day of wear and it’s going good but I do have some pain inserting and removing. During my period my vaginal walls get almost bloated and sometimes it gets difficult to even use a tampon. So with my cup I just kind of shove it in there and it hurts a little bit. But with removing I think it’s because like when it goes across my pelvis bone it just hurts. I’m not actually sure how to explain this. Pls help!
Hii. This is completely unrelated to this video but i love your review videos. I am planning to buy a new low cervix menstrual cup and cannot decide between the Juju model 4 and Mermaid guppy. Can you please do a full length review on the Juju model 4? I feel it will be a bit firm for me and i want to make the right decision before buying it cause it is a bit more expensive.
everyone’s cervix is different, so it would be difficult to tell. it is really just a matter of trying and testing, maybe first try cheaper alternatives of softer vs firmer cups, or see if you can find a dupe?
@@nickd2557 low cervix options in itself are very low . On top of that I live in a country where menstrual cups are very new so either you have to buy the standard high cervix cups or you ship it which again is very costly.
I don't know if I am so open about this topic but I had just one time where I needed to change it in public. I usually have a daily pad for "making sure". I took it off wore my pants back cleaned it went back and insert it. The girl next to me looked at me like 👀👀 but I said " sorry had to do it." Also I like to fold it while taking it out. I am going to clean everything afterwards anyway so why not have a little bit of more mess.
I have very bad pain in lower stomach and backache too even after finishing my periods after first time using cup... Please suggest me what should i do to get rid of this pain i am very stressfull
I have a saalt soft in the regular size since my first two days are heavier compared to my third and fourth. I have been experiencing bladder pressure and having to use the bathroom more often than I usually need to. This is my first menstrual cup as discs are not meant for my body (pubic bone will not let it stay as it should so the disc will go flat and come out, yuck I know, not comfy when trying to sleep) and figured the soft version would be better since the firmness of the discs weren’t my cup of tea.
There is some flashing on the sides of the stem from the manufacturing process. You could try to trim it off (if yours has them longer) with tiny nail scissors to smooth that out. I always tuck the stem if I wear one with it that sticks out so that it stays inside the body versus hanging out. You can also trim the stem to be shorter so it's not touching the labia. Lots of options!
You could try wearing gloves it if’s your nails that are the issues. Personally I prefer the feel or Vinyl and that was before I develops a latex allergy. I have Tourette’s and sometimes need to wear gloves to just wipe or insert a tampon as I have taken many many chunks from my labia from ticking with short natural nails. You could also try a drip of lubricant just on the labia to ease everything in.
I don’t usually experience pain with my Diva cup, but sometimes when it hurts when it pops open, and then I’m sore during insertion and removal for a few days. I haven’t figured out why this sometimes happens.
I have the weird issue where the rim opens fully, and the body gets folded. So it feels like and egg inside me. Availability is limited in my country. Thinking of trying a teen cup or a disk.
There's a cup sold in my country that has the most antagonistic rim ever, if i didn't have a different brand i would have given up on menstrual cup. The rim pops open so violently in the body and i don't have a low cervix. And breaking the seal by pinching doesn't make a difference lol i just push it like a baby while it's pinched otherwise it never wants to come out
I’m having problems getting it in and out because my vagina entrance is really small. I’ve tried many folds but it’s painful and doesn’t go fully in . Any tips ?
Dr Asiakale you are indeed God sent, I usually have a very painful flow ever since I was 17years old, I have tried using different drugs but the pains doesn't stop nor go, I have been living with it and managing with the pain each time my monthly circle comes but ever since last year December when I started using your herb the pains has been subsided and I feel better and comfortable each time my flows comes now. Thank you, am grateful and may God continue to bless and increase you. Amen
File the base of the cup would not make it “porous” meaning that it can harbor bacteria faster there? Thats the hole point of the medical silicone material🧐 I use the Organic Cup (now they switched the name to “all matters”) and the steam hurts when I sit. I trimmed but Its kinda sharp now… I’d like to file it a little bit. I would do whatever it takes at this point Its the only one I have and my period is not finished yet I’m desperate helppppp😭😭😭
I've been using the saalt cup soft regular size for the past few days, and I can't get used to it at all. I have quite bad abdominal pains after insertion and after talking it out after few hours. I' ve tried lower or higher position and it's the same. No leaks, just pain... It's any chance to be to big for me? I had 2 vaginal births and I thought that the small size wouldn't be ok😬
Please help me out.😔😔😔😔 This is my first time using period cup. It's my day3. And I have a continuous pain in my lower abdomen. I'm married, and had a miscarriage a year ago (gave birth to a baby girl through normal vaginal delivery) I'm using small size period cup.
Disc should be fine. I'd be careful around cups though, because, unlike discs, they rely on suction which can sometimes pull IUDs out of you're not careful.
Please help get a solution for this - I get lower back pain during mc wear and they get to intensify overtime. I am 19, not given birth and wear a large size cup (63mm height, 46mm diameter). What should be the probable solution ? My cup is moderately soft. Should I wear a Medium sized one or should I go for a softer cup ..? Please tell.
Buying online from other brands is a nightmare in my country and I just got a Diva cup and apparently it's too firm, it's causing a very dull pain during wear. oh well :/
I tried it for the first time today .. I was not in period, yet I was to queries because my package delivered today only 😀, I could fold and insert it inside but I couldn't hold it completely while it go inside and I couldn't hear "pup " sound and I felt it's not opened I used u fold , I pushed upward and it went , I removed it by squeezing the base ,my question is I used stonescup green soft one because I have lower cervix and can you how can I make it open up and understand it I ddnt feel to hurtful just I was feeling burning
The first time I inserted it and then tried to remove it ..I actually pulled it out in haste and that was so painful due to which I got bleeding even though i was not on my periods. It was like the suction sucked through the cervix and bleeding happened. I freaked out so bad. I tried to search the reason for the bleeding but couldn't find out. The next day too i felt a Little pain in the stomach. Is something wrong should I use menstrual cup on my periods because I am scared of using it again????
Hello kim. I have been using menstrual cup for about 2.5 yrs now, everything was great until now all of a sudden during one of my recent periods, i had very bad pain in my anus while having the cup on (at night). Since then I am not able to use the cup. I mean I am able to wear, but after a few minutes pain starts and then goes severe, that I cannot bear it and have to remove it and switch to pads. Any idea about such kind of pain ?

Hello first time user. I’m wearing it right now and it kind of burns. I feel like I have to pee and I keep going in and trying to fix it and nothing has helped any advice please
it could be that the cup is too firm or maybe is sitting too loe in your vaginal canal. i personally have this issue every now and then when my cups (saalt regular/large, lena regular/large) sit too low, especially when it's full. it applies unnecessary pressure on the bladder and can make you feel like you constantly have to pee, but because of the pressure it can make it difficult to pee as well. i try to shuffle the cup as high as i'm able to when i'm initially inserting it, though if the cup is full gravity is going to pull it down no matter what. that's generally my cue to empty it 🤷 but you may also just need a narrower or more tapered cup if your issues are still recurring 😭 i hope that helped any!

For me lubrication is/was not the problem. It finally worked after I warmed the cup with warm water. It was sooo easy to insert it warm vs "cold"
First time menstrual cup user here! Just tried it today and as a tip for relaxing I put some music on and it helped me to relax enough to get it in and out, and after trying 2 or 3 times to get it in the first time I was able to get it in on the first try the second time around.
Now you've stretched yourself out so sex will not be pleasurable with you.
Did you succeed?😊 Currently going through the same but too scared to ask for help to a therapist. I can only use tampons and pads as of now
I tried using a few different cups, firm and soft, and I couldn’t make anything work.
@@nickd2557 yes I tried everything and even reached out to the cup company to get more suggestions. Nothing I did worked.
A tip is to always tug on you cup lightly after putting it in to make sure it’s suctioned and not too high up
Ta
@@shannamcconnell736 you don’t need to remove the cup to pee though
I tend to have pains if the cup is inserted incorrectly (dull ache around cervix) or sometimes even sharp pains during wear (usually in mornings with diva.) Thanks to your vast ammount of resources and knowledge, i've swapped to saalt (soft is en route) and im MUCH more comfortable!!
for me (new user btw) it used to hurt a lot at removal. i would pinch the base and it wouldn’t entirely break the seal (diva cup model 1). so, what i started doing, even if its messier, is pulling it down slightly enough to reach the base and walking my finger all the way up to the rim. id fold it and then i could feel the vacuum break when air started to pass (you *will* feel it break. if you haven’t felt it, it hasn’t broken). and that way, i’d remove my cup pain free (sort of, sometimes the diameter is too wide). hope it helps!
i try to do it too but it spills. does that happen to you?
Did you trim it? Will it not be harder to remove it then? Tried my first cup 2 weeks ago and have the same problem. Trying to find solutions for this.
I’m not a virgin yet I still have my hymen. It’s so darn painful I just can’t do it
I have never tried a tampon I don't even want to,i don't like the idea of something expanding constantly inside of me,but i love the idea of a menstrual cup,i don't like the feeling of pads but a menstrual cup, from everything ive herd ,and ive done some DEEP research, and i love the concept it sounds conferrable,it WILL NOT expand inside of me constantly! I plan on asking my mom if i can try one
Yes!! Thank you so much for this video!!! 💜
Glad it's helpful!
I tried the Lena small and it gave me a lot of discomfort so I'm trying the Lena sensitive. Aside from leaking, discs have been the most comfortable
Absolutely loved this video. Saving this for future reference
I’m a virgin and this shiiii hurt I tried the smaller folds and the only one that opens up is the c fold🤦🏻♀️ still gonna use it thooo
How is your experience rn? Did you try boiling your cup for 3-5 minutes before insertion?
1:08 Well I’m 21 and I have zero experience of the type that is being alluded to here haha. I feel like that really makes a big difference for me and that it makes it much harder to get really any type of feminine hygiene product to go in.
I just got My first menstrual cup yesterday and I sat in the bathroom for about a half hour contemplating with myself if i should use it or not (I'm 17)
I finally got the courage to put it in and I had that part down (cuz I use tampons) but what I was trying to figure out is how far I should have it 💧💀
I'm kinda getting it to where it's mostly comfortable but then when I sit or lay down I can still feel like the stem(?) And I don't know if I did something wrong or not 💧×/////×
And when I took it out this morning it kinda hurt ( I pinched it and everything 👀💧) so I was worried and I was worried about if it was going to hurt EVERY time I took it out..
Can you do a video on this for period disc pain?
Punch down fold
@@idmeghaburnwal didn't work

A lot of women remove the stems! In fact, if I had to guess, probably the majority do for that same reason.
Yes, it's addressed in the video specifically because rubbing often causes pain. As long as you can reach your cup you can trim it off entirely! www.tiktok.com/@periodnirvana/video/6979967086164561157?lang=en&is_copy_url=0&is_from_webapp=v1&sender_device=pc&sender_web_id=6878419716596893190
@@PeriodNirvana thank you!
"They should not be painful, period" Heh I see what you did there
Thanks for the helpful tips. I have just started using the cup and the stem is uncomfortable for me specially when I sit down (which I do most of the day because I am an office worker), but I do use the stem to reach for the cup when taking it out so I am not sure about trimming it. Is there something else that can be done?
Can you review the pixie cup? I’m interested in trying that one for my first mensural cup.
I use the pixie cup and it’s amazing
My finger nails have always been my biggest issue. 😂 That pinch should no longer exist.
Does steaming your cup really clean it??
Is it okay to try a menstrual cup while not on your period?
It totally is! And it's recommended so you can figure out how to use them without getting stressed out and getting things dirty
yes, it’s not like a tampon where you shouldn’t insert it unless you’re on your period. it’s good to try beforehand like the other commenter has said, as it can get messy if you try on your period and you don’t know what you’re doing. i would say give yourself an hour in the bathroom, relax and try different insertion methods and folds. best of luck
Actually no. When you're on your period the walls actually opens up a bit. And when you're not on period the vagina was are more tight/closed
Maybe I’m really sensitive, but the only disc I tried is the soft cup, and I also got cramping. I’m on day 1 with my first ever cup, the Cora cup, and there is still dull cramping. Any advice?
Hey did you ever get an answer to this? I’m having the same exact issue
@@babyg7796 possibly that the cup is too firm or that the cervix is pressing into it.
Is it okay to use water as a

Yes I've only ever used water ;-; so yeah not an issue at all!
Yup! Water is good!
Didn't worked for me. It really hurts inserting it. Still waiting for my lubricant to come in and I hope it would make everything easier!
@@coleencastro2769 I hope things work out for you try relaxing and don't keep trying again and again until your vagina becomes sore. Try again LATER if it doesn't work the first time. Again hope you find the right product for you!
It sometimes is dull pain when I first wear my cup but as I’m wearing it goes away… similar issue with tampons
Now this is what I needed to hear 😅, I am using it for the first time and i feel kinda uncomfortable with it ig
THANK YOU
I have a Lumma cup, the M+.
But I wanted my Merula XL to work for me because of the capacity esp if I need to go outside for long hours..
I have done everything but it's what it unfolds it cause me the most pain.. like it doesn't open up properly inside of me
I usedmy old cup for 3 years and had to take a break cause i lived at my moms and had no chance to clean it and i was always at friends houses and tampons were just better at that time.
Pls help!
Hello! Me three months later and I got it down!! I still have a good amount of leaks so I wear pads but menstrual cups have changed my life!!!

The girl next to me looked at me like 👀👀 but I said " sorry had to do it."

My nails are bare minimum in length, but I still end up hurting my labia. Any advice?
There is some flashing on the sides of the stem from the manufacturing process. You could try to trim it off (if yours has them longer) with tiny nail scissors to smooth that out. I always tuck the stem if I wear one with it that sticks out so that it stays inside the body versus hanging out. You can also trim the stem to be shorter so it's not touching the labia. Lots of options!
@@PeriodNirvana thank you so much 😊
You could try wearing gloves it if’s your nails that are the issues.
Can you make a video like this for disc
And breaking the seal by pinching doesn't make a difference lol i just push it like a baby while it's pinched otherwise it never wants to come out
My menstrual cup is not fitting properly. It’s a little tilted from the bottom. Is that normal? Cause I’m not being able to make it fit properly 🤦🏼
I’m having problems getting it in and out because my vagina entrance is really small.
I’ve tried many folds but it’s painful and doesn’t go fully in .
Any tips ?

It might be because of the stem, you might be feeling it. I had the same issue too, and I cut the stem completely, now it works perfectly well for me!
so i don’t get pain when i’m wearing it but when i try to take my cup out it is definitely suctioned to my cervix (it’s hard to remove and i can feel it with my finger) is it bad that it doesn’t hurt

So how's your experience after 1 year? I am a first time user and it was my first day of using MC.
Makes me feel like I have to pee!
Hello first time user. I’m wearing it right now and it kind of burns. I feel like I have to pee and I keep going in and trying to fix it and nothing has helped any advice please
it could be that the cup is too firm or maybe is sitting too loe in your vaginal canal. i personally have this issue every now and then when my cups (saalt regular/large, lena regular/large) sit too low, especially when it's full. it applies unnecessary pressure on the bladder and can make you feel like you constantly have to pee, but because of the pressure it can make it difficult to pee as well. i try to shuffle the cup as high as i'm able to when i'm initially inserting it, though if the cup is full gravity is going to pull it down no matter what. that's generally my cue to empty it 🤷 but you may also just need a narrower or more tapered cup if your issues are still recurring 😭
i hope that helped any!
If after inserting, there is slight pain in the rectum.. What can that b for
